Isabella POV

The drive was smooth, the quiet hum of the engine filling the silence as we made our way through the city.

Ben, one of my bodyguards, was at the wheel, with Dean beside him, both focused on the road.

Justin sat next to me, his face unreadable, staring ahead. His colleagues, along with Noah, were in a separate car, trailing behind us.

When the car pulled up to the entrance of a restaurant, I noticed the place was tucked away in a quiet, exclusive part of the city.

No other cars were parked outside and the entire place seemed eerily empty. It was clear the entire restaurant had been booked out for this business meeting.

As we stepped out of the car, a valet quickly took over. And just as I was about to walk toward the entrance, I felt Justin's hand unexpectedly take mine.

His touch was firm yet casual and without a word, he moved ahead, leading me toward the restaurant with his usual confident stride as Ben and Dean flanked us.

Inside, the restaurant had

Isabella POV Minutes later, with my two bodyguards in tow, we made our way down to the garden, leaving Justin and his meeting behind. The sweet fragrance of blooming flowers filled the air. Ben and Dean kept their distance as a waitress approached, a bright smile on her face. "Would you care for a drink, Mrs. Martinez?" She offered, holding out a chilled glass of sparkling water. "Thanks." I replied, accepting the glass. The waitress lingered, her expression curious. "I didn’t think I’d ever meet Justin Martínez in person as he is a fashion icon and all!" She babbled, her excitement spilling over. "Oh...and it's nice to meet you as well." She added with a nod. I chuckled, trying to play it off casually as she walked away, but inside I felt awkward. I released a deep breath, continued walking through the garden, taking in the peaceful surroundings when, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted Justin. He was walking down from the restaurant with Noah by his side

  • The Light Through His Darkness   Peach Paws

Isabella POV I felt something soft press against my cheek, a little paw. Chuckling softly, I reached out and my fingers brushed fur. Opening my eyes, I found myself looking into the curious gaze of a puppy. A surprised squeal escaped me as I picked her up, laughing as I ruffled her light brown ears. She was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a gentle little thing with big, warm eyes that practically glowed with sweetness. Holding her close, I hugged her gently, the joy bubbling up as she wriggled in my arms. But then a question surfaced; where had she come from? Or rather, who had brought her here? Still holding the puppy, I slipped out of bed and padded downstairs, wrapped in my black kimono and cover-up, my bare feet quiet on the steps. As I neared the living room, the sound of voices reached me, pulling me back to the memory that Noah and the others were staying until the weekend. I tapped lightly on the doorframe, catching their attention. Noah looked up and

  • The Light Through His Darkness   Pillows and Piano

Isabella POV I headed toward the stairs and a soft melody began drifting to my ears; a piano playing somewhere in the house. I knew Noah and the others were watching a hockey game in the living room, so I followed the sound, realizing it was coming from the rooftop lounge. Curious, I climbed the stairs, letting the music guide me and finally reached the rooftop to find Justin sitting at a sleek white piano, completely absorbed. He was lost in his own world, his gaze resting somewhere in the sky as his fingers danced over the keys. I took a step closer, captivated. "Not tryna be indie...not tryna be cool...just tryna be in this...tell me how you choose...can you feel why you're in this...can you feel it through." He sang quietly, his voice soft yet powerful. Suddenly, he noticed me and I felt a pang of awkwardness, turning to leave. "Isabella." He called, his voice gently pulling me back. I looked at him over my shoulder. "Yes?" I replied, as he stood from the piano. "What

Isabella POV After tossing and turning for what felt like ages, I slipped out of bed and padded down the dimly lit hallway toward the kitchen. I barely made it around the corner when I saw someone already there, reaching into the cupboard. Justin was pulling out a mug, his back turned as he filled the kettle with water. I froze for a moment, not wanting to break the silence, but he noticed me before I could backtrack. "Didn’t think I’d run into anyone here at this hour." He said, glancing at me over his shoulder. "Couldn't sleep." I shrugged, stepping further into the kitchen. "I thought a snack might help." "Guess we had the same idea." He chuckled softly, setting his mug down. "I need coffee. Figured it’d help clear my head." "At this hour?" I raised an eyebrow, amused, as I moved to the pantry. "You might be the only person I know who thinks coffee is a cure for insomnia." He leaned back against the counter, crossing his arms as his gaze lingered on me. "It’s n

Isabella POV "Welcome aboard, sir." A man's voice broke through my haze, pulling me from the edge of sleep. I yawned softly, my fingers clutching at the fabric of a shirt, my eyes still shut. "Have some food delivered to the cabin." Justin's deep voice followed, firm yet casual. It wasn’t until I felt the gentle sway beneath me that I realized I was being carried—bridal style. My eyes fluttered open and there he was, holding me like it was the most natural thing in the world. "Justin?" I mumbled, trying to piece together what was happening. "We’re here." He said simply, stepping into a spacious, luxurious cabin before lowering me onto a plush bed. I blinked, sitting up slowly as Peach darted into the room, her tiny paws skittering across the floor. "Where are we?" I asked, taking in the elegant wood paneling, the subtle scent of the sea and the fain

Isabella POV As Justin and I strolled along the wooden porch, I noticed the two waiters ahead, carrying our suitcases toward the house. The faint sound of the ocean waves reached my ears, prompting me to glance back at the yacht anchored in the distance. The glow from the porch’s light posts brightened our path and a cool breeze swept through, brushing against my skin. I shivered involuntarily, drawing closer to Justin. Without a word, he slipped an arm around my shoulders, his hand gliding gently along my arm, warming me. I tilted my head to look at him, but his gaze remained fixed ahead. Following his line of sight, I noticed the grand silhouette of a beach house perched elegantly on the hill, its beauty enhanced by the moonlight. After a few more minutes of walking, we reached the house. I watched as the waiters placed our suitcases neatly by the doorway. Offering them a grateful smile, I thanked them warmly and they nodded in response. Justin handed them a tip, his

Isabella POVI opened my mouth to respond, but Justin shook his head, cutting me off."Let me explain, okay?" His eyes locked onto mine and for the first time, I saw something unfamiliar—vulnerability. "Just...listen, please."That one word "please" took me by surprise. Justin Martínez never asked; he commanded. Hearing it from him and in that tone, softened something inside me, in a way I wasn't prepared for. I crossed my arms tightly beneath my chest, nodding reluctantly. He exhaled deeply, his hands dropping to his sides as he sat back on his heels. For a moment, he stayed quiet, as if trying to gather his thoughts."Getting married was the only way for me to regain access to my accounts," He began, his voice low. "The bank that holds my wealth, assets, inheritance...it's all tied to a contract my parents signed decades ago."I frowned, confusion knitting my brow.He dragged a hand through his hair, before he continued. "The contract states that none of us—me, my siblings, can co

They can be...intense." I glanced at her and rolled my eyes slightly, trying to lighten the mood."As long as you're all right, Bella." My mom exhaled, her hand reaching up to caress my cheek. I managed a small smile, holding her hand briefly as I glanced between her and my father. "I'm fine. Are you?" My father's expression hardened slightly, but he nodded. "We've endured worse, but remember, this is just part of the contract. It will be all over soon and you will be unburdened by this, just stay focused, Bella."My jaw tightened and I nodded, though the reminder hit like a cold splash of water.
