Oh, thank the goddess that works because there's no way In the hell that I would've been able to get into a fight with that man, not in the condition that I am right. When Ana and I took the break, and I thought we were close to the pack house, it was all a game that my mind was playing to get me to believe I had a chance.

Once we started running, the house was farther than I thought, so we spent a couple of hours running and thinking too. That's why I came up with the idea to lie to the Elder for him to leave and give us time to find the needed evidence.

So when they left, I didn't care anymore; I let the darkness take over me and was glad that my sweet mate was there to catch me on time.

When I woke up, Ray was lying beside me, more like he was wrapping around me.

I love it; I miss him so much that I almost forgot how he smells; I buried my nose in his neck to smell more of him; the more, the better I felt.

“ Are you awake?” his sleepy voice asked.
