Chapter Seventeen

The smell of bacon cooking awoke me.  Groaning, I got out of bed unhappy about how fast morning had come. I threw on an oversized t-shirt and made my way to the kitchen. 

“Goodmorning!” Meghan greeted me, cheerfully. She patted the seat next to her. “I hope you’re hungry.”

My stomach grumbled loudly almost as if responding to her. I gave a smile in return and started eating. 

“Hey are you going to work today?” I asked, trying to be nonchalantly. She nodded in return. 

“Do you think you can drop me off at Sabine’s shop when you go?” I kept my eyes on the plate of my food. 

“I don’t think she’s back in town yet.” Meghan
