He was asking himself why Teacher Rissiya joined them in this trip. Was it because they were going to the Greenhouse? That was his first guess, but he could be wrong. But then, why else is she coming along? Not that he complained, just curious.
“You must be curious why I joined this trip, boys,” the lady said as she started arranging the flowers on her lap. There was silent as no one had said anything, so Jai took the liberty of the talking.
“Indeed. Do you care to explain about it, mam?” Jai asked.
Rissiya smiled. “Well, I was just passing by.”
Jai sweatdropped. “I thought the reason you said that was because there’s another reason.”
Rissiya covered her lips and faked a surprise look. “Oh? Is it?” she asked, her eyes blinking innocently.
Vein almost popped on the side of his face. But the lady chuckled. Her smile was very contagious.
“The Minister asked me to com
“Madam Rissiya, nice to meet you again,” a short haired young man wearing a blue, scale themed scholar outfit, greeted the beautiful lady. He was wearing a Chinese style outfit, with three-four pants and dark pointed boots. A golden earring of an eagle adorned one of his ear, along with golden brooch the shape of a flower pinned on his left chest.Rissiya smiled sweetly. “Carrola. You called me as I’ve requested of you. My, you dressed up quite nicely,” Rissiya patted his upper arm softly.Carrola smiled and took her hand before kissing the back of it. “Of course. We are no longer in the battlefield.”“Oh you. Battlefield is around us. It just needs a trigger. You know that,” Rissiya grinned, clutching his hand with hers. Her reply made him chuckle. Then he turned to the three young men around her.“Greetings, gentlemen. I believe you remembered me,” Carrola smiled.“Yes. We me
An hour before…“Are you sure about this, sire?” a figure cloaked in black robe and pointy top asked. Its face was as black as the night save for the two shiny circles on the place of its eyes. The voice of this figure was unusual. It was like it was hovering over the border of feminine and masculine, indistinguishable and unknown. The sound of painful shrieks echoed from the tentacled bushes in front of them. Those mandrakes, as they were known as, were sitting on the ground and hugging their own leafy body with their tentacles, shivering as they tried to get away from the light balls that were heating them. But their effort was to no avail as the balls were surrounding them. They whimpered as the balls kept on flying extremely closer to them every few seconds. Intense heat could be felt radiating from the balls, warming up the plant monsters to the point of their natural body water almost dried up.Another cloaked figure watched as the light
“How can Fire Drakes cross into our border? It’s not even that hot in here!” one of the two soldiers exclaimed as they rode their lizards across the plains. The lizards chirped as they ran past the grasses and rocks.“I don’t know. But we have to make sure it’s not bringing more of its friends here,” the other soldier said. “How come the border didn’t tell us anything about this?!”“Man, I’m sure we’re wondering the same thing as the sergeant. That’s why we must hurry to the border to find out about it!” the other soldier replied.“Do you think the sergeant and the others can handle those Fire Drakes?” his friend asked. The other raised his eyebrows in wonderment. “Aren’t those guests we have today are the winners of the competition held by the Minister? They are more than enough help to deal with those pests.”His friend smiled f
With their joint air current , Darrion and Raka raised the drakes fifty feet into the air while Ruhan and Oki struggled to pull Mugen downward and away from the drakes. Being wind elemers, they must have the ability to bend the air to their will, so they were using their ability to the most right now. Lifting something, apparently, wasn’t something anybody can do. To Darrion, it may seem nothing as he had been doing to Jai several times. But it turned out to be not an easy feat. Because Raka and Ruhan had some kind of trouble keeping up with the windlets. The drakes had somehow realized that their tentacles were being pulled, so they tried to pull back and gave the wind elemers a hard time. However, fortunately for them, Carrola was there, and he was able to support them with more air pressure to keep the drakes afloat while also pulling Mugen down. When both Mugen and the drakes were already far enough from each other, Torfo became ablaze once again. Bara ran below
Mugen was brought to the infirmary in the biggest windmill. The farmers immediately helped Carrola cleaned the boy up and assessed his condition. After a semi thorough assessment that could only be done with the Seeing Hands skill, Carrola declared that Mugen had a few broken and some cracked ribs, particularly on his stomach area. It was no wonder since he was held by, although not all, multiple tentacles at once. The pressure should be more devastating than that and Mugen might’ve been a dead man if not for the fact that the drakes were already weakened to such a state. Mugen was a lucky man. But he wasn’t lucky enough to avoid some of his ribs broken. At least, he’s still breathing and that’s what matters. “We have to get you to the hospital, Mugen,” Carrola said. His hands were on top of Mugen’s stomach, healing him with his magic. The farmers that had helped him had left the place to avoid crowding the injured man. “I can heal you, but it would take hours to men
After Carrola had returned, they immediately set off to their next destination, the Erthas Wall. This wall is located before the wall border to the Earth Kingdom and north from the lake. If anyone could remember, this wall was the second place in the first race of the competition where they needed to run under the unending water pouring from jars that were purposefully placed above the wall. The military had removed the jars because the race was over, making Jai slightly disappointed because he was curious about them. The Erthas Wall had received their message regarding the sudden attack from Fire Drakes, and they had sent their help. However, the soldiers sent met the winners’ carriages halfway to the lake. Since they didn’t seem to be in trouble, the soldiers changed course and escorted them to the wall. Captain Flare and Major Kirly greeted them as soon as they arrived, and immediately, they started giving tour around the barrack. “That is very unf
They were currently outside, above the Erthas Wall. The Major was explaining to them about what happened in their race and what tools that were used back in the race when something flew in the sky. The thing was constantly getting bigger as it got closer to the wall, so it could not escape being seen.“What is that?” Ugi asked, squinting his eyes to south to see something was flying towards them. The Captain, who walked behind him, looked towards the direction he was looking at. He smiled when he saw the thing coming towards them, because he knew what that was. He turned his head to the front and signalled the Major about it.“—rune from the Water Kingdom,” the Major paused when he saw the sign from the Captain, and also turned his head to the thing flying over. “It seems that your carriage has arrived.”Everyone turned to see the thing and found out that it was a flying ship. In fact, it was a very familiar flyin
Contrary to some of their hope of meeting the king right after they arrived on the ground, they didn’t. But they did meet the Minister there waiting for them with the same calm smile he always had on him.“Oh my apologies for leaving so shortly, children. I have something I have to do,” the Minister excused.“Minister, did you hear about Mugen?” Ruhan asked. The Minister nodded. “I did. It was unfortunate. But we’ll discuss about it later. Let us go to the Greenhouse immediately, the King and some other guests had been waiting for you there.”Bunny carriages were already prepared outside of the gate for them and they immediately got on to go to their last destination. Before they aboard though, Jai saw a familiar person sitting on the driver’s seat of one of the carriages. So he approached the man to see if it’s really the person he was thinking he was. The driver noticed him approaching a
