A knock came to Ruhan’s door. Jai and Darrion didn’t have to wait long for Ruhan to open the door.
The brunette was looking fresh with his slightly wet hair and fresh clothes.
Ruhan smiled when he saw Jai and Darrion. “Hi, guys!”
“Hi, Ruhan,” both Jai and Darrion greeted back.
“Hey, we’re going to the kids after taking a bath. Wanna come?” Darrion asked with a smile.
“Oh, you are? Are the kids still in the mausoleum? I heard from Sister Azalea that they’re supposed to be going back to their village today,” Ruhan said.
Jai didn’t know who this Sister Azalea is, but he guessed she must be one of the nuns who helped taking care for the children.
“Oh, they were in the dining room when we passed by. I talked to them a bit and they seemed to want to play,” Jai shrugged.
Darrion nodded. “Yeah. And we thought to invite you.”
“Mmm~ I actually want to,” Ruhan said, his eyebrows frowning. “But didn’t Teacher Thamus say that we should go
The participants had finished eating and were currently playing with the kids in the garden.Darrion flew with Lemina, Gito and one other kid, the three of them were squealing excitedly under the shiny dome of glowing crystals.Jai was playing with Amy, Ina, and Hans, making their hair stand up while they were touching his hands.Lastly, Ruhan played with Piko and two other kids, making them float just a few feet in the air because they were scared to fly like their other siblings and Darrion. There were also two nuns hanging near them, chatting with each other. Kefara was also with them, hanging around the group of kids who were with Jai.They had been playing around for half an hour. Any of them should've felt tired by now, and Jai was wondering when because Darrion didn't seem to do anything besides having fun. He was relying on the blonde to gather some info. But eventually, one of the kids started yawning.“Are you sleepy, Piko?” Ruhan asked.
"Darrion's friend?" Jai looked confused. He turned to look at Darrion.Darrion sheepishly smiled and scratched his cheek. "The wind, Jai."Jai instantly understood. Then he turned again to Teacher Sora."I'm very sorry. We're just worried. Even though we didn't know what the person was doing, we still want to help," Jai said.Teacher Sora nodded. "Yes. And we appreciate your help in taking care of the kids. I told the Matron and she didn't deny she was feeling a lot better knowing the kids were in your hands."Jai frowned. He didn't know how Teacher Sora found out they were secretly trying to help them. So he turned to Darrion once again for answer."How did he knew...?" Jai whispered.Darrion was about to answer but Teacher Sora interrupted and answered for him."I can sense his wind flying around this room. When I asked who asked them to come, they said the blonde kid," Teacher Sora smiled."Aah..." Jai understood immediately.
Thunder roared angrily in the sky, rumbling and booming among the clouds. The wind was raging madly, gathering the grey clouds into an area above the Corus Mausoelum.Under the sky, right on top of the said mausoleum, a young man and an elderly man stood on the landing porch of the Aterra bird. The young man had his hands raised and thunder flashed from his palms and his finger tips towards the crowded sky above them.Jai tried very hard not to blink, but he couldn't. The wind was very–no, too strong for his eyes to bear. Not to mention his constantly flashing thunder that was accumulating inside the clouds was bright. He had to blink to see through, or else he risked blinding his eyes.'My sight is risked enough already,' Jai thought. Then he shouted. "Teacher Sora!!"The person who was called; a kind, elderly, calm and smiling kind of man was fanning himself behind Jai with that decorated blue fan
Jai grunted and turned his body around to the side. His eyebrows were twitching as he felt his side heating up. The sparks crackled inside him and something made him uncomfortable. The thunder elemer eventually woke up from his slumber, his eyes fluttering open slowly.“What is…” he whispered softly. He looked around and noticed he’s back in his room.“Teacher Sora must’ve brought me here,” he muttered to himself.Jai grunted and stretched his body on the bed. He tried his best to get as many cracks out as possible and eased his painful muscles. His side was no longer heating up, and he sighed heavily. Now that he's more awake, some memories returned to the plane inside his head.“Did I really help him make a storm? Did we really ‘do’ make a storm?” Jai muttered out loud.Jai couldn’t help but pity the adventurers out there that might’ve been caught in their storm. Although he could remember the kind teacher’s reply when he confessed his conce
Jai entered the main hallway of the building and entered the dining area. There was always a nun or a monk standing by in case anyone’s hungry after their shift. Jai never saw the dining room lacking people, so he assumed that these monks and nuns had their own shift in doing their activities in the mausoleum. He could hear familiar voices when he entered, and noticed that the children were already awake and currently eating. One of them, Hans, noticed him immediately when he glanced at the door.“Brother Jai!!” Hans greeted while raising his fork of mushroom. The rest of the children’s attention turned to him. “Brother Jai!” they greeted.“Hey kids,” Jai smiled and stopped by their table. It felt the same as lunch, but the difference was that the Matron was there this time.“Good evening, Jai,” the Matron greeted.Jai inclined his head in respect and smil
Yaju ran while limping. He was in a hurry that he forgot to put on some shoes. The only thing on his mind right now was to escape quietly.'I can't go to the docks. I won't get far with this wound. And the guards would spot me right away. So where should I go?' the dark haired guy thought. He needed to be fast, but he needed to be careful. Then he got an idea. He didn't know if it's going to work, but it was the only thing in his mind right now. So he kept on limping forward. He saw Jai's back not too far ahead and then he saw the guy turned left into the dining room. He hurriedly walk down the hallway, trying to ignore his injured feet. The guard near the kitchen door spotted him immediately and noticed his funny walk."Hey young man, are you alright? You don't look good," the guard immediately approached him.He stopped like a deer in headlight. His mind racing as he tried to find an excuse. He was still sweating and it was seen ver
Jai hurriedly walk back to the participants’ dorm and knocked on Raka's door. Raka immediately opened the door.“Jai,” Raka greeted briefly.Jai nodded in response before telling him. "The guy's not in the bathroom. I'm going to ask Darrion to help me find him, can you–""–it's alright, Jai. I've calmed down. It's alright to let him be for now," Raka said.Jai blinked for a few seconds, but then he shook his head. "Wait, what do you mean?”“Let’s just wait until he comes back. He might be looking for someone to help with his sickness, but I’m sure he’ll come back. I’ll wait him here before I question him about his actions to my cousin,” Raka said. The guy said it calmly like how he usually interacts with people. He was different from the serious person he saw just a few minutes ago. He’s only been gone for around three minutes. But that’s not the point.“Yes, that. Can you look out if he ever comes back to the dorm?” Jai asked, to which Raka nodde
Darrion rolled his eyes at his friend.“Yeah, yeah. So, I’ll try asking the wind. Do you have any specific question in mind? So that I can focus on certain words they say,” Darrion said.“Wait, before that. I want to ask,” Jai said. Darrion raised both of his eyebrows, gesturing him to continue. “How exactly do you communicate with the wind? You ever told me that they talk to you and you listen to them, but you didn’t exactly say how they really ‘talk’ to you.”“Why does this seem very familiar?” Darrion looked up and put his hand under his chin, looking as if he was in thought.“What is?” Jai asked. Both young men were too preoccupied by their own discussion that they didn’t notice little Ina snuck up beside them. She was looking between the two of them back and forth, listening to their conversation. When Darrion hummed as a response to Jai’s question, Ina took that as a chance to speak up.“What are you two talking about?” Ina asked innocen
