“What are you doing?!”

I rushed up to Blode and hit him in the chest with all of my might, yet it barely had any effect. He remained still, his gaze transfixed on the pile of wreck boulders that served as a barricade to the locked gates.

“Adolf is still there!”

I could feel my insides twisting, aching for the tears that wanted to burst out. Blode didn't say anything as he stared intently at the gates before us, eyes narrowed in concentration. He knew from experience that getting past these gates was no simple feat. He had endured this battle many times before yet still felt a burning rage every single time. Still, he kept his composure and attempted to remain clam despite his inner turmoil.

“Adolf will find a way, Daciana.”

My breath caught in my throat as I spun around upon hearing someone address me. Peering into my shoulder, I saw Stoic had taken a step towards me, his presence looming large.
