“What’s happening?!”

The ground was shaking furiously, as if it’s going to tear in half! I gripped my sword tightly while backing away while looking around. My eyes narrowed into slits when I saw a figure coming towards our way.

“N-no…” I heard Stoic beside me mumbled. When I glance at him, he looks worried and troubled about something.

“Stoic! What’s the matter?!”

He keeps on shaking his head while taking a step back. I couldn’t understand him. He suddenly lifted his head and raised his hands.

“RUN! RUN AWAY FROM THIS AREA!”

I was shocked when he started to shout with panic. Stoic is the type of chief who isn’t fazed easily no matter how strong or outnumbered we are by the enemies.

But today…watching him shriek while horror filled his eyes sends chills down my spine. And there was nothing for me left to do but to run away.

“What’s going on?! Please, answer me!”

I look around and everyone was also running. They aren’t questioning their chief why we are suddenly retreating with our tai

“Let us go!”They captured us!The giants have the audacity to capture us even after Stoic explained to them we meant no harm. Gigantor, the prince of the giants, said nothing as he lead his way towards the city. Each and one of us were captured by the giant in their hands. Their holds are firmed and tight so no none of us could escape from this. I sough in agony as I blow the giant’s hand, just to discharge away from it. But it was no use.I looked around and my team were also trying to escape. I was slowly losing hope for our lives here because we were caught by them when something caught my eye in the front.I gradually stop from punching the giant’s hands to see clearly what’s in front of us. It was vaguely to look at in first sight but as we get closer, I realized where are we heading.“The City of Giants.” I heard someone mumbled beside me.I turned to my side when I saw someone accompanying the giant holding my body. I followed his hand and I was surprised to see Stoic who spok

I think I have misinterpreted what I heard.Everyone in this place fells completely silent as they all turned their heads towards their prince. He, who sits almighty in this throne, smirked as he watch me trembles in my place while looking at him dead straight in his one eye.Marry him?I want to curse at him. Everything went in a slow phase and the noise in my surrounding becomes mute.I watched with dread in my heart as more than a hundred giants surrounded us. They all have weapons and are ready to kill Adolf!I thought this was the end of him. I thought there was nothing I could do to save him. Because the second I blocked my body to protect him, someone suddenly obstructed the attack from the giants. As fast as it happened I almost passed out and the only thing I could hear was the rapid beating of my heart. My hands wrapped around Adolf as I breathed deeply. I almost fell deaf when a long ringing sound rang in my ears.“Get out of here!”I heard someone screaming. I swallowed and slowly turned my back. And what I witnessed suddenly brought me back to reality.Suddenly, my world returned to normal rotation and I could clearly hear the commotion happening around me.Alve is here! I swallowed several times as I stared at Adolf for a long time.“A-adolf?”I couldn't see his facial expression well because it was covered by his hair and some dust that hadn't completely disappeared yet. I feel like a sharp object pierced my heart because I can't believe what he did.He hit me…I winced when I felt a painful sensation in my arm. I looked down and saw that a bruise was slowly forming on my skin. It was so obvious that I couldn't help but cry out in pain.Gigantor's laughter echoed all of a sudden. I clenched my fist and gritted my teeth when I looked at his place. He slowly stood up from his knees as his eyes narrowed at me. Apparently, he was satisfied with what he was witnessing. He pointed at me with his finger."What's this? Why is he attacking you now? I thought he was on your side?" he asked teasingly. His eyes were taunting.“Shut up!” my voice boomed and it cause a slight shake on the ground."I know you're the mastermind of this! Adolf can never hurt me! You

I'm not in the right condition.I don't know how many minutes that turns into hours I was just staring at the wall. From the moment Gigantor took me to a private room I was immediately attended to by a giant who treated my bruises and wounds. He left immediately after he finished cleaning my wound. It's dark, brooding and dispiriting. I closed my eyes tightly and let my body sink into the giant bed. I can't help but worry about what is happening to them outside. I want to go out to see them but I don't know why I'm losing my energy. This is the end of us. We have no hope of winning this war. The enemies are too powerful and besides, most of us are already dead even though we haven't even set foot in our kingdom yet.I hugged myself tighter and buried my face between my knees. I could feel my tears forming in the corner of my eyes but I immediately wiped them when the door suddenly opened.“Go away.” I mumbled. I haven't seen who came in yet but I'm in no mood to look at them in the fa

I was holding my breath when the giant started to roam his eyes all over the place to search where Blode is hiding.I cursed to myself, thinking that he had no where else to go. The door is closed. There’s no window inside. Everything is sealed and the only thing you can go in and out of this room is through the door. The giant narrowed his one eye while scanning the whole place. I have a feeling he could smell Blode’s scent because his nose keeps on sniffing when his body automatically turns towards the pillow. I bit my tongue when the giant raised his hands and was about to grab the pillow to see what’s underneath when I yelled.“Ouch!”The giant immediately halt, glancing at me from the corners of his eye to see what’s wrong.“I-I couldn’t move my shoulder.” I seek, pointing at my right one.The giant was watching me closely underneath that horrifying gaze. I prayed silently while hoping Blode could escape under the pillow while I am buying him some time. If both of us gets caught.

This will be the end of us.There is no way we could escape from this hell.I could feel beads of sweat forming on my forehead as I looked around. Thanks to the enlightening light-colored coming from the torch, I got a good vision of what the room looked like. And as Blode said...He’s right.Because right now we are surrounded by several giants inside the room.I cursed softly as I realized that it was impossible for us to escape here even if the giants were still asleep. I followed the distance between us to the door and noticed we have jumped farther away from it.What should we do?!“P-princess, don’t panic.”I turned to Blode when he whispered to me. Just when I turned around, his face was very close to mine. I was short of breath because the tips of our noses were almost brushing against each other when he suddenly winced in pain.“W-we need to get out of here. Can you help me towards the door?”I bit my bottom lip when I looked down at his situation. It was obvious that he was

“Blode!”Fortunately, I got to his place right away. I helped him pull his body upright because it was difficult for him to straighten himself. I immediately wrapped his arm around my shoulder and guided him towards the door.“H-how did you do it?” I asked him while making sure he can move.He groaned, wincing in anguish then looks at me side eye.“I-I used the torch then rolled it towards them. Since the giants were about to attack me it was too late for them to avoid the fire.”I nodded, understanding the scenario in my head. That’s why he survived. In under any normal circumstances who’s ever in Blode’s situation, no one can really survive with that many giants encompassing you. He’s really a great and experienced warrior.“We’re almost there…” Blode whispered then motioned his head for me to focus my attention to the front.I nodded an quickly duck my head to crawl underneath. This time, I didn’t let go of Blode to make sure he could follow right behind me. He was having a hard ti

Years later...I took a deep breath, inhaling the pure air that surrounded me. I glanced around the area, looking at all the people and taking in my surroundings. A gentle smile spread across my face as I thought of how lucky I was to be there at this exact moment. The beautiful trees and flowers seemed to be flourishing in the bright sun, creating a breathtaking landscape. The birds tweeted happily in between small bushes, adding to the already joyful atmosphere of this place.“Daciana? What on earth are you doing out there. Don't you remember that you need to go inside and get yourself ready?”I didn’t look up at him when he called my name. Instead, I felt my feet leave the ground, as if I could reach the stars and fly away from here. Memories of days gone by cascaded into my mind like waterfalls, bringing with them a flood of emotions. They were memories both fond and painful that made me pause in that moment, feeling vulnerable but also appreciative for all life had given me.“Do

“Daciana! Get a hold of yourself!”I was vaguely aware of a hand shaking my shoulder, as if someone was trying to force me awake. I couldn't tell if my body and mind were truly awake or not; it felt like I was suspended somewhere between consciousness and dreamland. It wasn't an altogether unpleasant feeling, but something still seemed off. This sensation would come and go in waves, leaving me alternating between deep sleep and strange alertness. He beckons to me again, putting all his energy into conveying his urgency. He doesn't have to tell me much; somehow, I already know what has gone wrong and why he needs help.“Your father, he

How could this be? I felt a chill as I gazed upon the darkness that had spread throughout the entire kingdom. Everywhere I looked, it felt like the sun itself had been blotted out from existence. It seemed like the shadows were slowly consuming everything in sight, and my heart sank at such a grim realization.I glanced up and saw Adolf’s body - he was clearly in need of help, but the shadows around him blocked my path. I nodded my head slowly, taking the necklace from Father and carefully looping it around my neck. He smiled at me reassuringly, and then we both turned to face our foes. His gift to me had been a reminder of how much he cared for me, even in times of great peril. I felt an invisible surge of strength when I looked down at the glimmering metal against my chest; an assurance that no matter what would happen, Father was always by my side.“I’m so proud of you, darling.”Those were my father's encouraging words before we began to battle the groups of skulks advancing towards us. I had been preparing for this moment all week, equipping ourselves with weapons and practicing any tactical maneuvers that might give us an advantage. We had a duty to protect our home, and the feelings of anxiety that initially weighed on me had been replaced with a newfound determination. My dad's belief in my capabilities helped fuel this confidence, and I knew that no matter what happened, I would always stand

“Adolf…”Everyone in the room had their eyes firmly fixed on the two standing before them.Adolf, standing tall and determined, was facing off against Azariel, despite having lost to him previously.“I-is that Adolf?”I glanced down at my father, his form so fragile, as he suddenly spoke. His breaths are labored and shallow, every inhalation a struggle and every exhalation a relief. It breaks my heart to see him in this state, but despite all of the difficulty he smiles up at me with a strength that is indomitable.“Yes, father.”Wrapping my arms around him, I leaned in and snuggled against his neck. I felt a pang of sadness that once again he wasn't by my side. Father returned the hug, letting out a deep sigh that seemed to speak of his own pain at having to be apart from me. His embrace was comforting yet bittersweet; he was there with me but I hate it because we’re in this situation. His chest rose and fell with each breath, like it was taking his heart along with him on each sighs
