As he pulled up in his drive, his phone rang.

He stopped the car and picked the call.

'The doctor confessed that it was Camellia who bribed him to falsify the test result. He had refused the bribe but then she threatened him with his family and he had no option but to do as she had asked him!' Pork said on the other end of the line.

'I thought as much!' Hector said. 'You must have been pretty persuasive for him to have confessed as fast as this!'

'I was, with my fists!' he said, and the Lyncan king could hear the smile of pride in his voice.

'Whatever, you did well!' Hector said, ending the call.

'Lionel take your siblings in, your mother and I have things to discuss', he said. 'Landon, Leigh, I am happy to have you, You are a welcome member of this family and I am proud that I am the father of such wonderful pups, Lionel, you included!'

The children beamed and they all hugged their father and Alexa could only look on, her heart filled with pain. If only it were as easy as all that.
