Castiel’s P.O.V

I stared at the stars, their shimmering light blurred by the restless thoughts racing through my mind. Two weeks ago, the memory of Damien calling out Gabriel’s name while unconscious at the hospital had seared itself into my heart like a brand. His grip on my hand had been tight, almost desperate, and though he hadn’t been fully awake, the way his voice had cracked when he said that name… haunted me.

And now Stephan stood beside me, telling me that Damien had moved on? It felt like a cruel joke.

I let out a bitter laugh, shaking my head as I stared at the rippling water. “Moved on, huh? Is that what we’re calling it?”

Stephan’s gaze settled on me, filled with a pity I didn’t want to see. “Castiel, I know what you’re thinking—”

“No, you don’t,” I cut him off, my voice sharp. “You weren&rsquo

Damien’s P.O.V I hadn’t planned to confront Stephan, not really. But when I found him with Castiel, my mind went straight to anger. The sight of them together—so casually close, so at ease—hit me like a punch to the gut. I knew Stephan was loyal to his fiancé, and I had no reason to question that. But it didn't matter. I was beyond reason at that moment, consumed by a surge of emotions I wasn’t ready to confront.I had nearly walked up to them, ready to say something I would regret, maybe even do something I couldn’t take back. But I had stopped myself just in time. I wasn’t here for this. I wasn’t here to cause more problems, not when I had enough of my own.I had needed some air after the meeting with Andrea. So, I left for the gardens, my mind still a mss from the earlier confrontation. It had only taken a few minutes of walking in the cool evening breeze to get my emotions under control again. But then I had stepped in on Stephan and Castiel in a friendly embrace, and my mood had

Castiel’s P.O.V A week passed in a blur. It seemed like just yesterday I was sitting by the pool with Damien, laughing at how I managed to get under his skin. But now, the night of the casino opening had arrived. It was finally D-day.I was standing in my room, looking at myself in the mirror, adjusting the tie around my neck. The black suit I wore fit perfectly, but there was something different about tonight. It wasn’t just the fancy occasion—it was everything that had happened between Damien and me. A lot had shifted in those few days, and I wasn’t sure where exactly I stood anymore. As I finished adjusting my cuffs, I heard the adjacent door creak open. I didn’t need to turn around to know who it was. Damien’s presence filled the room like it always did, quiet but commanding.“You ready?” His voice was smooth, almost too calm.I turned, meeting his gaze. He looked as sharp as eve

Castiel’s P.O.V I step out of the car, the night air cool against my skin. I watch Stephan exit first, giving Damien a brief nod before opening the door for him. Damien doesn’t need any assistance, but Stephan is one of those types who takes his duties seriously, always playing the role of the perfect assistant. It’s almost amusing to watch. As Damien slides out of the car, I follow closely behind. The click of cameras immediately erupts in the air, flashes of light from the paparazzi lighting up the night. It’s not an uncommon sight for New York, but to think that a simple casino opening will have such an arrangement is a bit astounding. However, now that I can finally glimpse at the establishment…I can tell that nothing about this event seems remotely simple.Damien doesn’t even acknowledge them, which is exactly what they want. He doesn’t play the game—he never has. And yet, they still follow him, desperate to capture anything they can. It’s a dance, one that’s been perfected f

Castiel’s P.O.V I feel my breath leave me in a slow rush as I stare at Elijah. For a moment, the world around me fades into a blur, my eyes locked on his. My heart pounds in my chest, and the air feels heavier and thicker. There’s no mistaking it—his sharp features, the dark hair, those piercing green eyes. The same cold, unsettling smile. He’s the one…the same man from the hospital rooftop. But I can’t react. Not here. Not now.Because reacting to him will lead to question…questions that I had no answers for. What if he remembers me? What if he says something? The fear gnaws at me constantly, making it difficult for me to breathe. If Damien finds out…NO! I can’t let this happen.I’ll have to explain what happened on that rooftop—how Elijah found me, how we spoke, and the things we said that night. I’ll have to explain to Damien how Elijah had been s

Castiel’s P.O.VMy breath hitches as he strides across the room, smooth and confident. His steps are measured, almost like he’s walking down a runway, effortlessly turning heads as he passes by. It’s almost like everything else in the room blurs out of focus as I focus on him. He’s beautiful. And I don’t mean beautiful in the way most people think of—no, this is something different. It’s the kind of beauty that almost makes you want to look away because it feels like you’re staring at something you’re not supposed to see. His blonde hair catches the light, the strands glistening as he moves, and his blue eyes are piercing, a cold, unfeeling shade of ice. His build is delicate, not like most omegas, but like something you’d expect to see in an art piece, and it’s a sharp contrast to the surprisingly intimidating aura he carries with him.But what really knocks the breath out of me

Castiel’s P.O.V I step back instinctively when Gabriel locks the door behind him, my heart thudding rapidly in my chest. The click of the lock feels louder than it should, echoing through my thoughts like a warning. My eyes stay trained on him, watching as he stands there, calm and collected, almost like this entire situation is just another day at the office for him. But for me? It feels like a ticking bomb.“Why’d you lock the door?” I ask, my voice sharper than I intended. My gaze darts from the door to him, my body still tense and on alert. I don’t trust him. I don’t even know him. So why would he corner me in the washroom and lock the door?Gabriel smirks, a slow, calculating smile that doesn’t reach his eyes. “Because I need to talk to you,” he says as if that was the most obvious thing in the world. He takes a step toward me, his movements graceful and fluid, like he’s in comple

Castiel’s P.O.V I don’t know how long I’ve been standing here, hidden in the dim supply closet next to the washroom, or why I had even agreed to this ridiculous bet with Gabriel. But it was too late to back out now.The small space smells of cleaning supplies, the scent of bleach mixing with the stale air. My heart races as I press my back against the cool wall, my thoughts spiraling. Gabriel’s words echo in my mind, each one a cold reminder of the insecurities I’ve been fighting to bury.“Damien will always come back to me.” The words sting, even now, and I can’t stop myself from wondering if Gabriel’s right.I had hoped—prayed, really—that Damien had changed, that he had truly moved on. That this wasn’t some cruel game between the ex lovers, and Damien had truly chose me. But now, as I hear footsteps approaching, the hollow echo of them reverberating through the qu

Damien’s P.O.V I let Gabriel’s lips linger on mine for a few more seconds, the coolness of his touch no longer causing my heart to race. It doesn’t flutter like it used to when he’d kiss me when we were together a decade ago. It doesn’t spark my desire or make butterflies erupt in my stomach like it used to. It all feels like a lifetime ago, and now, he was nothing more than a stranger.Instead, all I feel is a sharp, sickening disgust. What was once a thrilling sensation now feels like the hollow press of ice against my skin, draining everything good from me. The kiss that once ignited my passions now extinguishes them, makes my skin crawl.I break away from him, gripping his neck roughly, and using every ounce of strength to force him off me. His eyes widen in surprise, but I can’t bring myself to care about the look in them. He’s just a manipulator, a disgusting piece of shit that, the trash that had

Castiel’s P.O.VThe sunlight creeps through the small crack in the curtains, casting a soft, golden glow on the walls of the room. It’s the kind of light that should make everything feel warm, but all I can feel is a cold numbness spreading through my veins. My body refuses to move. I haven’t slept, not really. My eyes are swollen from crying, the aftermath of an emotional storm that seemed never-ending. My head feels heavy like it’s been filled with too much noise and not enough peace. But despite everything, there’s a numbness that blankets me, a fog that makes it hard to distinguish between the past few hours and the haze of my own mind.I turn my head to stare at the cracked walls above me, willing them to hold some kind of answer. Anything that could make this pain stop. But nothing comes.I’ve cried enough. The tears, the sobs, the silent misery that rattled through me all night, hidde

Damien’s P.O.VI stared at the ring for what felt like an eternity, my grip tightening around it, the cold metal digging into my palm. It was supposed to mean something more than this. I had chosen it for him, picked it out with the hope that it would be a sign—a symbol of the good he had brought into my life, a representation of everything I’d never been able to express to him in words. Instead, I had handed it to him carelessly, like it was just a trinket, a piece of jewelry meant to impress, not something that held the weight of my feelings.I remembered the ride back from the carnival, the happiest day of my life. Castiel had been telling me how the carnival only held things for children and he hadn't been able to buy anything to bring back for Stephan. That’s when I had handed the box to him…casually tossing it as if it was just another souvenir. I had been nervous, I had been anxious for his reaction…but now, all those felt like petty excuses.I let out a sharp breath, frustrati

Damien’s P.O.VThe car ride back to the mansion felt like an eternity. Every second dragged on, and every thought in my head twisted tighter, more suffocating. I couldn’t stop thinking about Castiel—how I’d failed him, how I’d let everything slip through my fingers. The guilt weighed heavy, and the more I thought about it, the worse it became.Stephan sat beside me, unusually quiet. I could feel his eyes on me from time to time, but I didn’t want to meet his gaze. I didn’t deserve to. Not after what had happened. But I couldn’t stand the silence any longer. The sound of my own thoughts was starting to suffocate me, so I finally turned to Stefan.“What…what was he like?” I asked, my voice hoarse. “Castiel, I mean. When you met him.”Stephan shifted slightly in his seat, staring out the window. “He was broken,” he said quietly, not meeting my gaze. “I’ve never seen anyone so shattered. Whatever he saw or heard inside that venue... it affected him so deeply. He could barely keep himself

Damien’s P.O.VI stood there, my mind reeling, as Stephan’s words settled in like heavy stones sinking to the bottom of a river. *It’s too late.* Those words hit me harder than I cared to admit. But I couldn’t let it end this way. Not like this. Not after everything Castiel and I had been through.I clenched my fists, trying to control the seething rage inside me. “You’re wrong,” I muttered, but even I wasn’t sure I believed myself. “I know I screwed up. I know I walked right into Gabriel’s trap like an idiot, but I never expected him to go after Castiel. He used me. He manipulated me, Stephan. I didn’t know.”Stephan didn’t respond right away. He just stared at me, his expression unreadable. I could feel the weight of his judgment, though. I hated it, but I couldn’t blame him. I had messed up. Big time.I ran my hand through my hair, pacing back and forth

Elijah’s P.O.VI could hear the soft hum of Gabriel’s tune as I stepped into the washroom, the sound carefree, almost too happy for the tense atmosphere of the night. The light above flickered slightly, casting an eerie glow across the walls, but Gabriel was too absorbed in his own little world to notice my presence. He was standing in front of the mirror, washing his face and fixing his hair with the kind of meticulous care that only someone like him could afford. His movements were slow, almost exaggerated as if the world had no urgency, no consequence, not even with everything going to hell outside this room.I watched him for a moment, my smirk forming naturally. The contrast between his happy demeanor and the mess we were all tangled in amused me, though it also intrigued me. What was it that could make Gabriel this happy, when everything else seemed to be crumbling?I stepped forward and closed the door behind me with a

Damien’s P.O.VThe music was loud, the laughter louder, but none of it reached me. I stood frozen in the middle of the lobby, scanning the faces of the guests who milled about, each of them oblivious to the storm raging inside me. I couldn’t find him.Where the hell is Castiel?I searched the crowd again, my eyes darting from face to face. There had to be something—some sign—anything. But nothing. He wasn’t here.I felt my pulse quicken. This wasn’t like him. Castiel never left a scene without letting me know where he was going. Never. Yet there I was, standing in the heart of a party in enemy territory, surrounded by people who seemed perfectly at ease, and my lover was nowhere to be found.I took a breath and pulled my phone from my pocket. My hands were shaking, but I dialed his number anyway. The ring echoed in my ears, and I clenched my jaw.**Voicemail.*

Castiel’s P.O.VI slammed the car door shut with more force than I intended, but I didn’t care. The engine roared to life under my fingers, the sound like a promise that I was done listening to anyone. Not Stephan. Not Damien. Not anyone. I twisted the key with a sense of finality, the low hum of the car vibrating through my chest as I threw it into gear. The moment I started to pull away, Stephan appeared by the driver’s side window, his face tense. He was probably at his last ditch attempt at trying to stop me from leaving. It would have been laughable if I wasn’t so damn furious.“Castiel, wait,” he called, his voice strained. “You need to think this through one last time.”I kept my eyes on the road, hands tight on the wheel. “I’ve already thought it through, Stephan. Too much already.”He stepped forward, his voice rising, but I wasn’t stopping. He had no

Castiel’s P.O.VAs I turned to leave, Stephan’s grip tightened around my wrist, firm yet steady, as though he could physically tether me to reason. His eyes, dark and sincere, searched mine for something—understanding, perhaps. Restraint. But I had none left to give. “Castiel,” he said softly, his voice measured. “Don’t do anything rash.” I exhaled sharply through my nose, my shoulders stiffening. The heat of my anger hadn't faded, nor had the betrayal that gnawed at my insides like a festering wound. Rash? He thought I was being rash? How could he not know that my insides were being ripped apart by Damien’s betrayal?“I understand you’re upset,” Stephan continued, his fingers still wrapped around my wrist. “But don’t let your emotions cloud your judgment. Whatever you think you saw—whatever you believe about Damien—give it time. He’ll explain.” I yanked my hand free. “Time? You think time will change what I already know?” My voice came out lower than I intended, rough with someth

Castiel’s P.O.V The music, the chatter, the flashing lights—all of it feels like it's closing in on me, squeezing my chest tighter with each passing second. I don’t know when it happened, but everything around me suddenly feels suffocating. The room, once full of laughter and life, is now nothing more than a blur of faces I don’t recognize, voices that don’t matter.I can’t breathe. I need to get out.My feet move on their own, carrying me toward the exit. I don’t even think about anything—just this desperate need to escape, the desperate need to feel the fresh air, but every step feels like a battle against the storm in my mind. The door slams open with a soft whoosh, and the cool night air hits me like a rush of relief. But it’s not enough. My heart is still pounding in my chest, the image of Damien kissing Gabriel etched in my mind, like an unwanted whisper in the back of my brain.
