Damien’s P.O.V

The oppressive heat inside the car pressed down on me like a suffocating blanket, but I forced myself to focus. I couldn’t afford to lose control now. My palm pressed flat against the cold metal of the car door, and I concentrated on summoning my power. The familiar sensation of heat started to build in my chest, a flicker of red flames curling behind my closed eyes. It wasn’t enough yet. I needed more, and I needed it fast.

Reed’s power was all over the car, threading through every electrical circuit like a silent predator. I could feel it, sharp and invasive, a cold blue light that clashed violently with the warmth of my energy. Every time I pushed, he pushed back harder, the sparks of his power zapping across my connection like static shocks. My jaw tightened, my teeth grinding together as I summoned everything I had.

"Damien, what are you doing?" Castiel’

Castiel’s P.O.V The Synclair mansion felt quieter than usual as I walked down the long corridors toward the infirmary. The soft hum of distant voices and the faint echo of footsteps were the only sounds accompanying me.As per Damien’s strict instructions, Stephan had gone ahead for his blood test, and now it was my turn. Dr. Andrea had insisted on testing everyone who’d attended the meeting in Chicago—just in case something sinister had been slipped into the food or drinks. I didn’t think it was necessary, because if there was indeed something in the food then we’d have felt it by now, but Damien’s orders were non-negotiable.But the earlier incident had left a scar that wasn’t visible to the eye, and I was still reeling from the aftermath. The sight of watching the car blowing to splinters before my eyes, the crash of the other car, the loss of four lives…it all felt almost surreal.

Castiel’s P.O.V I stormed down the corridor, my mind a swirling storm of anger and fear, and by the time I reached Damien’s room, my blood was boiling. I didn’t bother knocking—I shoved the door open with enough force to make it slam against the wall.Damien was standing near the large glass window; phone pressed to his ear, his tone calm as he spoke to whoever was on the other end of the line. That infuriating composure of his only fueled my rage.“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” I demanded my voice a shout that filled the room.He held up a finger, silently signaling me to be quiet as if I were a child throwing a tantrum. “Yes, I’ll handle this,” he said into the phone, his tone clipped. “We’ll discuss the details later.”I didn’t care who he was talking to or how important the call was. My vision tunneled on him, and

Castiel’s P.O.V I stood outside Celia's door, my hand hovering over the doorknob, unsure if I was ready for what was about to happen. The conversation with Damian replayed in my mind, but it felt so distant, like a sound from another life.Sending Celia away was supposed to be the right thing to do. But no part of me felt that way. My stomach churned with guilt, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was about to break something precious, something that could never be fixed.I took a deep breath and turned the knob, pushing the door open.Celia was sitting on her bed, her shoulders slumped, her eyes fixed on the floor. She looked so small, so fragile in that moment, like a lost child in a world she didn’t understand. Her silence hit me harder than any words could. I wanted to walk over to her, to tell her everything was going to be okay, but I didn’t know if it would be.The moment she sa

Castiel’s P.O.V The soft hum of Celia’s breathing filled the small room as I sat beside her bed, watching her sleep. She looked so peaceful, her tiny hands clutching the edge of her blanket. For a moment, I felt a pang of guilt—was I doing the right thing by sending her away? She deserved safety, stability, and a chance to grow without the constant shadow of danger looming over her.The clock on the wall ticked softly, the only other sound in the room. I glanced at the time. It was well past midnight, but I couldn’t bring myself to lie down. Instead, I ran my hand over her packed bags, neatly arranged by the door. Everything was ready for her departure tomorrow. Everything except me.A deep sigh escaped my lips as I stood, my gaze lingering on Celia for a moment longer. “Sleep tight, kiddo,” I whispered, brushing a strand of hair from her face. She murmured something incoherent but didn’t wa

Damien’s P.O.V The fluorescent lights illuminated every corner of the lab, and the scent of antiseptic was sharp in the air, a smell I’d come to associate with Dr. Andrea’s domain. She was hunched over a glowing screen, her short blonde hair catching the light as her fingers moved rapidly across the keyboard. Despite the late hour, her energy was unwavering, a testament to her dedication—or maybe obsession—with her work.I cleared my throat to announce my presence. "Andrea. I hope the results are back?"She jumped slightly but didn’t bother looking up. "Damien. Right on time," she said, her voice clipped. "I was just about to call you.""Figured I’d save you the trouble." I leaned against the counter, crossing my arms. "You said you discovered something important?"She finally turned to face me, her eyes sharp behind her thin-rimmed glasses. "I have. And it’s... complicated.""Complicated how?" I asked, my patience already thinning.Andrea took a deep breath and motioned for me to com

Castiel’s P.O.V Damien’s chambers always had a suffocating air to them. Maybe it was the heavy drapes that blocked out the sunlight or the low-burning fire casting shadows that danced like predators on the walls. As I stepped inside, summoned like some loyal lapdog, I found him already waiting. He was seated in his usual chair, his posture straight and commanding, as if the entire world bent to his will. And maybe it did."You’re late," he said, his voice calm but carrying that unmistakable edge of irritation."Sorry," I mumbled, closing the door behind me. My heart was still heavy after seeing my sister off safely, but there was no room to show weakness here. Not with Damien. The calming aura had disappeared from around him and his scent was stronger now, harsher, as if it was attuned to his every mood. It put me on edge as to what was to come next.He gestured for me to sit, but the way his eyes locked on mine told me this

Castiel’s P.O.V “What are you talking about?” I asked, my voice betraying the confusion and frustration swirling inside me. “How can I have powers I don’t even know about? How did you find out before I did?”Damien crossed his arms, leaning casually against the edge of the desk like we were discussing the weather. His calm demeanor only added to my frustration. “Because you’ve always had them, Castiel. You just didn’t know it. You’ve lived your entire life unaware of what you’re capable of because no one ever showed you how to use it.”I shook my head, my mind racing. “That doesn’t make sense. If I had powers, wouldn’t I have felt something? Wouldn’t I have noticed?”Damien’s smirk returned, the one that always made me feel like a naive child being lectured by an all-knowing teacher. “Not necessarily. Your powers aren’t

Castiel’s P.O.V The morning air was sharp, the kind of cold that bit into your skin and woke you up faster than any coffee could. I stood in the training yard, my breath visible in the chill. Normally, Stephan would be here, barking out instructions while I begrudgingly followed. But not today.Today, Damien stood across from me, his imposing figure casting a long shadow over the frost-dappled ground.Damien didn’t bother with pleasantries. “Warm up,” he said curtly, folding his arms. His tone made it clear that he wasn’t in the mood for excuses or delays.I started the usual routine—push-ups, lunges, sprints across the yard—trying to shake off the unease sitting heavy in my chest. I’d spent the entire night replaying our conversation, Damien’s words about my powers looping in my head like a broken record. A Catalyst. Someone who could amplify or suppress powers. Castiel’s P.O.VI led Damien to his room, careful with each step as he leaned on me. He didn’t need help to get to the bed, but I insisted, wanting to make sure he was comfortable. It wasn’t just about physical care; it was about showing him that I was there for him in every way possible.Once we reached the bed, I gently helped him sit down; making sure his back was well supported by the soft pillows. He looked up at me with those piercing eyes, and for a moment, the world outside seemed to fade away.“What do you need, Damien?” I asked, my voice low, soft. I wasn’t sure what he was feeling, but I wanted to be there for whatever he needed, even if it was something as simple as a company.“What are you offering?” He asked, his voice hoarse.“Anything.”The word slipped out without thinking, and as soon as it did, I realized just how loaded it sounded. The hint of a

Damien’s P.O.V Andrea's words hung in the air like a carefully laid trap, waiting for me to step into it. I leaned back in the chair, folding my arms across my chest, my voice sharper than intended. "What's wrong with being happy? Isn’t that a good thing?"She smiled faintly, unfazed by my defensive tone. "It is, Damien. But I wasn’t suggesting there’s anything wrong. I just wanted to share what I found." She leaned against the counter, her pen tapping lightly on the clipboard in her hand. "For the past few years, your serotonin levels have been consistently low. That usually correlates with anxiety, stress, or even depression. But now..." Her gaze softened as she gestured to the report. "These elevated levels mean you're starting to step out of the shadows of your past. And, if I had to guess, I’d say a ‘certain blonde’ has something to do with it."I blinked, my thoughts grinding to a halt. "A certain

Damien’s P.O.VThe familiar scent of leather and aged wood greeted me as I stepped into my mansion. The quiet hum of the city outside was muted here, replaced by the soft ticking of the grandfather clock in the foyer. It felt good to be home, even if my body still ached with every step.Castiel and Stephan followed behind me, both noticeably tense. Castiel, in particular, hovered like a worried shadow, his eyes darting toward me every time I so much as shifted. It was endearing, if not a little annoying.“You two,” I said, turning to face them as we reached the base of the grand staircase. “Go unpack and settle in. I’ll meet you later.”Castiel frowned, his concern practically radiating off him. “Are you sure? Do you need help getting to—”“I’m not that fragile,” I interrupted with a small smile, hoping to ease his mind. “I promise, I’ll be fine. Ju

Castiel’s P.O.V The world around me faded, and all I could focus on was Damien. His lips were warm and soft, and his kiss was everything I didn’t know I needed—a quiet assurance, a tether to pull me out of my spiraling thoughts. For a brief, stolen moment, it felt like everything was right again, as though nothing else existed except him and the steady rhythm of his heartbeat under my palm. I didn’t even realize my hand had wandered, bracing myself on the edge of the bed. It wasn’t until I shifted slightly that my palm pressed against his injured side. Damien hissed sharply, his body tensing beneath me. The sound snapped me back to reality like a bucket of ice water. I jerked back immediately, my eyes wide with alarm. “Damien!” I exclaimed, horror twisting in my chest. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean—” Before I could even finish, Damien reached up and cupped the back of my neck, pulling me back down. His lips pressed against mine in a quick, silencing kiss, soft but firm enough to s

Castiel’s P.O.V The hallway leading to Damien’s room felt unusually long. The muffled sound of voices from other rooms faded as I approached his door. I hesitated, my hand hovering just above the doorknob. A part of me dreaded what I might find, given how things were earlier. But I steeled myself and pushed the door open.Damien was awake this time, his pale face illuminated by the soft, sterile light from the overhead lamp. Stephan sat beside him, perched on a chair, his posture rigid, like he was expecting me. As I stepped in, his eyes darted to me, and he gave a subtle shake of his head. It was quick, barely noticeable, but the message was clear: *Don’t bring it up.*I nodded slightly in response, my lips pressing into a thin line. Whatever had happened earlier—whatever made Stephan cautious—I wasn’t about to make it worse. I walked to Damien’s side, the sound of my boots against the tile floor break

The sudden movement broke the spell that had held me frozen, and I felt a surge of relief wash over me.However, Elijah's gaze never left mine, and he still had that intriguing look on his face as he asked, "You're an Alpha, aren’t you Castiel?”“Y-yes?” I looked at him in confusion, unable to comprehend where this was going.“But you have a unique scent... the scent of an omega." Castiel's P.O.VI stood at the edge of the rooftop long after Stephan’s departure, my eyes fixed on the city lights twinkling in the distance. My mind was a jumble of emotions, a tangled web of thoughts and feelings that I couldn't seem to untangle. It felt like I was drowning in a sea of uncertainty, unsure of where to go from here. The revelation about Gabriel had left me reeling. I couldn't believe that Damien had been through such a betrayal, especially from someone who he had trusted to that extent. And yet, as I thought about it, I realized that it all made sense. Damien's reserve, his hesitation to open up to me - it was all because of Gabriel.I felt a pang of sadness, a sense of loss for the man who had been hurt so deeply. Damien had never really gotten over Gabriel, I realized that now. He had never really moved on. And I wondered, with a sense of trepidation, if he ever would.&n

Castiel's P.O.VWe stepped out onto the hospital's terrace, the cool evening air a welcome respite from the stifling tension that had been building inside me. The city skyline stretched out before us, a twinkling expanse of lights that seemed to pulse with a life of their own. Stephen leaned against the railing, his eyes fixed on some point in the distance. I stood beside him, my eyes fixed on his profile, waiting for him to begin."Damien and I…we go way back, before he even became the Don of the Dragon Syndicate," Stephen said finally, his voice low and hesitant. "We've known each other for a long time, Castiel. We've been through a lot together." He paused, his eyes clouding over with memories. "Damien's past is... complicated. He's been hurt, Castiel. Deeply hurt. And he's built walls around himself to protect himself from getting hurt again.""What happened to him?" I asked, my voice barely a

"Damien, my name is Castiel. Not Gabriel."But Damien just kept talking, his words slurred and nonsensical. "Gabriel, please don't leave me. Come back to me…please.” His voice cracked with emotion. “I miss you so much."I felt a pang of confusion and concern. Who was Gabriel, and why was Damien calling out to him so desperately?I tried to reason with Damien, to bring him back to reality. "Damien, I'm right here. It's me, Castiel. You're safe."
