"It's time for the ritual."

The ritual? I stood in my place like a stiff statue. Was I really about to see him turn into a vampire? I've read in the books that the vampire King usually bites the neck to turn the other person into a vampire so does that mean he would bite Ragnar's neck?

A guard stepped forward with a royal bowl while Grace tightened her hold on Ragnar's arm, trying to comfort him, telling him that it wouldn't hurt at all. "What's that bowl for?" I asked Makaria.

"You'll know," She replied simply.

The couple stood aside as the guard brought the bowl to Logan. My gaze shifted towards Ragnar and my heart pained to see him like that. I could see it, he was scared. He was hesitant. Immorality was a curse worse than death itself but he was doing it for her. To be with her despite her betrayal.

He shouldn't have agreed. Though it's not the case but what if she was involved with Logan in order to manipulate him? No matter what her true feelings were. I thought no good of her.
