2024-10-29 19:42:56I trip on the stairs as I walk straight to were my mum was in the kitchen, call me clumsy but I just could'nt focus after what had happen.
" Morning mum" I greeted as picked some cookies dumping them into my mouth as my mum stared at me in concern.
"Baby, what the problem? Why the sudden change of heart?what happen yesterday at Lauren place"
I wanted to break down at the mention of that name but I don't want my mum to get worried about me.
" Mum am fine, I never went to see Lauren yesterday I change my mind and I decided to be alone to think that was how I came up with the decision to join the competition, I hate seeing you work so hard to fend for us,so am gonna do anything the help"
"Awwn darling" she cooed " are you sure?you really do look down and they are bags around your eyes, have you been crying Rosy?"
"No mum I got something in my eyes yesterday"
" Is it me?you don't have to join the competition if you feel sad, I can always double my work to get the money" at that I burst into tears and went straight to her arms hugging her and crying.
" Baby what is it are you hurt?"she pulled away from the hug scrutinizing my body to see if there was any injuries.
"No mum am fine, I just feel like hugging you" I said as I hugged her again.
I just couldn't stop thinking about how stupid and selfish I was .
Here was my mum the one person who cared for me no matter my qualms but when she ask me to assist her by trying to join the competition so we could pay up our debts,I was only thinking about myself and how Wilson who never cared about how I might have feel
I feel so stupid, how could I not see it that my mum is really working hard to make ends meet and even when she knew that I could help by joining the competition she still want me not to if it doesn't make me happy and I never stop for once to think about what she might be going through, to provide for us and I was'nt even working cause she ask me not to since she said it was fine, now I do agree with what I said yesterday ,I am very naive.
She pulled away from the hug using her hands to wipe away my tears
" Baby stop crying, you can stay, you don't need to go ,I have thought about it and I agree with you that you are young and not cut out for it, it like sending you into the Lions den, there would be alot of noble and vicious lady who would do anything for the throne.
" Mum am going to apply and that final moreover am not going there to competite to be the queen, if i am lucky and I get choosen I will just stay there for a while till the allowance is able to pay up some debt and then I will do anything to get disqualify.

I strolled round the town, walking to my destination where I had to collect and fill the form .
I walk towards the line of girls also wanting the same thing and they were much and twenty of us were just gonna be picked, I just hope I get picked.
I move my gaze toward the girls taking in their features,some where tall,short,thin,fat and others were petite like me with many other with different statue. I joined the line waiting for my turn

After some hours it was my turn, I walk into the office where I met a middle man sitting with a table in front of him " good day sir" I greeted while he wave at me giving me the form and gesturing toward were I should stand and fill it.

Well I didn't see that coming I never knew we was suppose to take our picture and I am definitely not prepared for that, I look exhausted and plain today , any ways why do I care,let get this over with.
I walk to the man taking the picture " sir am here for the picture" I said to him as he point his hand toward the seat in front of me asking me to sit down with his hands, I sigh as I move to the chair and sat down while the man positioned himself and took a shot of my bored expression.
I jump out of the chair immediately and walk outside through the other door.
Since the day was already getting dark I decided to head straight home.
