Chapter 6

"Huh!?" Victoria was stunned. She did not expect it at all! Why would someone just give the money without getting anything!? She thought she heard it wrong. She asked, "What did you just say?!"

Alexander turned around and suavely went towards his desk "you can leave miss hale. You don't have to marry me. I will help you with the money you need.." His voice was calm and composed, exactly like him.

On the other hand, Victoria was anything but calm and composed. "Bu.. but, why... would you do that?" She is still in shock.

"None of your business. You can go now.." He spoke and it was an order.

All of a sudden she felt guilty instead of happy. This man was helping her and she just continuously disappointed him. He never forced her, it was her, who needs the money and came back to him. And now, like a coward she just can not step back, can she?

What would her father feel about it, watching her being so selfish!? Though she doesn't want to marry him because of his face.

But, on second thought he has always been so good and gentle to her! He even let her go immediately when she wanted him to stop, whereas he certainly could take advantage of her! He has all the chance to do it. Yet, he did not!! He even offered her money without any interest.

He might be old and looks disgusting. But, he is not bad as a man. This is a woman's instinct. Women can understand which man is trustworthy and who is not. And if a man is good then it does not matter how he looks.

Moreover, she has decided and won't go back on it. She gathered all her confidence and spoke "I am sorry for my behaviour, Mr. King... But, I will not go back on my words. I will sign the marriage register with you.

Alexander was surprised now. He thought after this offer she would go back. After all, who won't!? It's a lifetime offer to agree with! There might be two options. Whether she is too fool to agree with him, or else she is too good and smart enough to agree with him.

He turned back to face her and watched her deeply. Victoria also holds his gaze with all the willpower she has left in her.

The staring contest was so intense. She felt like decades!! And finally, he opened his mouth "fine then, if that is what you want.." With that, he pressed the button which have been fixed on his desk.

And a few moments later, there was a knock on the door. "Come in.." He said.

Butler Celeste got in. He bowed and spoke "young master.."

Suddenly, Victoria felt funny. Why on earth is he just mentioning an old man like him as a young master!? But, she did not utter a single word.

"Ask George to bring the necessary papers here.." He asked.

"Sure.." Butler Celeste bowed and went out to call George.

"Seat down, miss hale.." Alexander spoke, which sounded like an order. But, she obliged anyway.

And a few minutes later George and butler Celeste both came inside. Alexander placed a paper in front of her "sign it.." She looked at the paper and it was a marriage registry paper.

Confused, she looked up at him. "Should we not go to the marriage registration office?" She asked.

"I don't need to follow those rules.." His voice was firm and full of pride.

Suddenly, she realized that rich people actually could do anything they want!! She did not ask anything further, she just wanted to complete this procedure as soon as possible and went to her brother.. He is still waiting for her.

After completing the process, Alexander looked at her "our certificates will be here soon. And from now on, your all responsibilities are mine.."

Victoria did not feel anything about the fact that she just got married to a stranger, she only knew for a day! She still could not believe what just she did! At the moment she could only think about her brother and his treatment, that's it.

"Umm... Mr. King, I need to go to pick up my brother and also need something from home.." She replied.

"This is your home now and every necessary thing is already present here, you don't need to go to your old house.." He replied.

"But, I still need to pay the rent and all.." She tried to reason with him.

"I will take care of everything. You can go pick your brother up. Chauffeur Lewis is waiting outside for you.." He said the way as if he is dismissing his staff after giving his decision.

Victoria kind of felt bad about the way he talks to her. After all, they just got married and she is his legal wife, doesn't matter what the circumstances are! But, she did not say anything. It would be foolish for her to accept anything much from this marriage. After all, he is the one in lead, not the other way around.

But, she needs to confirm the conditions she placed before. She hold up the courage and asked "Uuh... Mr. King, what about those conditions I have asked?"

She is afraid now, what if he doesn't agree with her after signing the marriage registration? Her hand automatically grabbed the locket on her neck.

"I accept those and don't worry, your brother won't know anything about this.." He replied calmly.

Her eyes filled with gratitude "thank you so much, sir. Thank you so very much!" She thanked him from the core of her heart. She was right! He definitely is a good man!

With that, she went out of the mansion to pick Vincent up from school.

Alexander watched her going out. After she was out of the mansion, he stood up and walked up to the big mirror he has in the study.

Butler Celeste and George came and stopped behind him with another man. The man bowed "Good Morning, my lord.."

"Is everything okay?" He asked looking at himself in the mirror.

"The scar is fading a bit.." the man said while inspecting the scar on his face seriously.

"I don't want any imperfection.." He said while touching his face.

He slowly takes down his fingers on his jawline and suddenly, he pulled it off with his index finger, revealing the most gorgeous and young face, anyone could ever see!! The face, anyone could die for!!
