Lauren is on his way to Celadon city where he is going to have his seventh gym battle, on his way he encounters different pokemons who come and visit him when he is feeding his pokemons to eat with them, Lauren feels weird that every time he tries to feed his pokemons, a random pokemon comes and eats the food Lauren gives even though its weird Lauren has no explanation for it so he just Ignores it, he had many speculations about this incident he even suspect that it is related to that thing that's following him, but having no evidence to back it up he didn't investigate any further.

As he is traveling through a rocky area he sees a Mankey and he knows that this will be Ash's next pokemon, Mankey who was jumping around playing around see this bike speeding towards him, he tries to chase the bike but it was no use as Lauren just hit the accelerator and drives of very fast not wanting to involve with this troublesome Mankey.
