Chapter 26: Takes Two to Tango

Kendra’s P.O.V:

He was already hard, his erection stood straight against his abdomen, the tip moist with pre-cum.

Shit! He was big! Why had I forgotten that? Out of all the people I had slept with, Victor had been a perfect fit. The key to my lock. But I couldn’t let him win this game. He has to know that he’s playing with fire and it will inevitably leave him scorched. Hopefully this time, his lesson will be forever.

Just like what happened to you?

The demons whispered inside my head, making me stumble back a step. Only, there was nowhere to go; nowhere to run. I was standing with my back against the wall and Victor was directly in front of me, butt naked and sprouting a very impressive hard on. And even though I was no longer a horny teenager with no self-control, somehow I always ended up acting the same in front of Victor.

But he’d also left a post script saying that he wanted to have dinner with me.For once in a long while, I didn’t want to bolt out the door as soon as the coast was clear. I felt relaxed and satisfied and sore in all the right places, but I guess that’s the side-effect of getting my act together. I haven’t been with a partner in over six months and even I have to agree that going seven rounds all in one night was a bit too much.Stretching my arms above my head, I rose from the bed butt naked and went straight for the shower. Since I’d taken home all the spare clothing I had in this apartment, I have to make a quick tr

Maybe? Who knows?I tried to look around, but my head felt too heavy. Where was I? Why did my head feel so weird? I don’t know what this feeling was, but I need more of it. This was good.“Miss? Miss, are you alright?” The new bartender asked. I wish it were Josh...He’d have given me more alcohol.“Miss, do you need me to call you a cab?” The bartender was saying.Suddenly, thousands of voices mixed in my head. The people talking all around me, the bartender screaming in my ears and laughing...so many people laughing. Laughing at me.“Shut up!” I yelled. “All of you! Shut up!&rdq

Slowly, I willed my heavy eyelids to open, but it took an hour, or at least it felt like a good hour, before I could open them. The room wasn’t flooded with light like my room usually is in the morning; in fact, it was all in a dark shade of green. That’s when I realized that I wasn’t in my room. I instantly wanted to get the hell away from this place and never look back as I run for dear life. I didn’t want to know who I was with last night and if we even ended up doing anything. But as soon as I sat up, my vision went blank and when I opened them again after a short period, I was staring up at the ceiling. I groaned. Why did I have to be dead drunk before I decided to go home with someone? Am I even with somebody or did the cops just ditch me at a whorehouse? Nah! I was

Chapter 30: Worried about YouKendra’s P.O.V:It was late in the afternoon when I finally made my way home. I had taken a shower and changed into one of Grace’s spare jeans and tees at the club and then Daniel had driven me to the hospital to get a thorough check up. The results had been quite alarming.Due to excess alcohol consumption in the past few months, my liver has shown a very small amount of enlargement and now the doctor has told to strictly stay away from alcohol for the next six months and eat a hell lot of healthy shit until my liver goes back to its original shape. And not to mention a bunch of medications that I’ll have to take twice a day. I hadn’t realized how bad my condition had gotten until now. And to make matters worse, my head was still hurting and I felt like crap; pretty sure I looked like crap too since I didn’t have any makeup on me.But when I reached my apartment

At first I was a bit alarmed as to who could have done that, but then I remembered how I’d asked Victor to take me inside and how I’d fallen asleep right after he’d placed me on the bed and my heart eased a bit.One of my bedside table lamps were on so I turned on the second one as well so I could see everything around the room. What I instantly noticed however, was that the entire house smelled of cheese and bacon and that I was no longer in the clothes that I’d worn when I’d returned home. Victor must have changed me while I was sleeping, which was fine by me since I was wearing proper underwear and it would’ve been incredibly uncomfortable to sleep with skinny jeans on. But that doesn’t mean I’m letting

This one was just as fierce, just as passionate and I knew that Victor was no longer holding back. He was letting me feel all his anger, all his pain and all his want. And it made my chest ache to have this in my life forever. But that thought was gone just as soon as it had formed as Victor used his hands to cup my breast over the silk of my night shirt. I sucked in a breath and it gave him the opportunity to thrust his tongue inside my mouth and taste every nook and c

I tapped my foot lightly on the floor, impatiently waiting for the doors to open to my floor so I could go and kiss the sense out of the love of my life. I know it’s only been two days since I went to a conference with the rest of my team at my office, but it sure felt

But as soon as we’d all sat down at the table to discuss wedding details, an enormous awkwardness had spread over the room.I get that me and Victor had a reason to be awkward in public, since Grace didn’t know that I was screwing her brother and Daniel did...but even Grace seemed to stare at everyone awkwardly. Or maybe it was just the nerves? We were all seated at the humongous dining table, wine glasses in hand and a bunch of catalogues in front of us, trying to help the to-be-wed couple decide the venue, pick flower arr

She’ll pull through. She has to.”“I know. She’ll make it. She was hurt and I had no doubt that her ex was in there with her, torturing her as I stood and wasted my time ringing the doorbell. I couldn’t see anyone else in the apartment next to hers and I didn’t have time to call for help. I looked around the door, trying to find a rational place where the spare key might be since it wasn't under the welcome mat, but my mind wasn't working properly. So I did the only thing I could, I took a few steps back and ran into the door with all my strength. The door jerked but it was strong, it came back to its original position and wouldn’t budge. So I tried again, and again. Fear and anger had gripped me in a chocking hold at the fact that while I was wasting time trying to break down the door, something bad was happe

But as soon as I stepped into the elevator, an unknown fear clutched at my stomach.I shook it off, thinking that it might be a post break-up trauma kind of thing. Then again, I was never Damien’s girlfriend to begin with. How could it be a post-breakup trauma if I wasn’t even in a relationship?Swallowing the lump in my throat, I exited the elevator and took out my apartment keys from my pocket and unlocked the door, but as soon as I stepped into my apartment, something felt off.Deciding not to take any chances, I stepped out of the door and reached my hand up to the 204 sign above my door. Not many people knew but it was my secret place to hide my spare key. I carefully unscrewed the bottom nail with my fingers and since it was a designer nail, it came out easily. Ther

Chapter 59:Tatiana’s P.O.V:The ride to the airport was quiet and tense. It was clear that the others felt it too since Grace and Ken voluntarily decided to sit beside me instead of with their husbands. Damien and I didn’t talk but Grace and Ken tried to make small talk so that the silence doesn’t become constricting.I caught Ken giving Daniel a ‘What did your brother do?’ look from the corner of my eyes. I also watched Daniel give a small shrug in return. But I think they already knew the truth, at least my friends did. It wasn't Damien who was at fault, it was me. Me and my stupid feelings. Damien had warned me right from the start that we'd have nothing more than physical intimacy between us. Anything more and he'd be gone.I hadn’t planned on him finding out either. But he had and now I feel like I'd tricked him into something he never wanted to be a part of. And it wasn’t h
