Clara reclined in the bathtub, allowing the foamy water to envelop her entire body, except for her head and upper chest.

She languidly cleansed her body with a bathing sponge, her thoughts consumed by Adams and his family. The weight of his loss and the strength he exhibited despite his grief amazed her.

The memory of believing she had lost her own father flooded back, sending waves of despair through her. It felt as though her entire world had crumbled before her eyes.

Though Clara had discovered her father was actually alive, she knew Adams' situation was different. She wished it could turn out like her own experience, where Adams' father would miraculously be alive, but she understood the impossibility of that hope.
