“Who was the second man?!” Jerry bellowed, and the wolves outside released demonic snarls.

“T-the s-second was m-my employer; he hugged me as I arrived. He thought s-something happened t-that made me late, but as y-you are aware, it ended sour,” I stuttered as my tears flowed down my cheeks. I hit my limit for today as dizziness started to shroud me. I clumsily raised my hand to my forehead and slumped in my seat. There were odd barks outside, then whimpering before the ruckus died down.

Jerry glared at me with his fierce eyes; they looked more red than anything else. “Never, ever accept a lift from anyone again! Only I am to take you to work from now on! I will not repeat myself, Laura; NO man is allowed to touch you! Everything you do and say, I will know, do you understand?” he snarled throatily in my face.

“Y-yes, my w-wolf, I-I am yours,” I wept, failing to keep my composure.

“No one is to touch what is mine,” he repeated menacingly.

“I will only be true to you, I s-swear,” I uttered on the brink of blacking out.

Jerry’s eyes glittered as he observed me. “There’s a good girl,” he said sternly, then grabbed my face firmly and started kissing me. I had no choice but to obey. It was a torturous aggressive kiss, and this lunatic enjoyed it. “Oh, you are going to drive me fucking insane!” he gasped, out of breath, as he tightened his grip on my chin. His pupils were huge, and his unique eye colour looked almost normal as he gazed at me deeply.

“I am sorry for my temper, sweetheart, but do you know why I am like this?” he asked, brushing my jaw with his thumb.

“N-no,” I answered fearfully.

Jerry neared my ear, and whispered, “I have a little monster living in my head that sometimes takes over, and that little monster is restless Laura. It knows you don’t feel the same way about us as we do you; hence, it is so anxious to claim you.”

“C-claim m—” My heart rate sped up, and I started hyperventilating. He’s completely insane! Jerry practically admitted he has multiple personality disorder! How am I going to survive, never mind getting away from him?! What other personalities or fucked-up traits is he going to reveal?

“That’s why I am so harsh and possessive. You understand, my gem?” I could only struggle with a nod in his steel grasp. Jerry combed my hair with his long fingers while his unnerving stare further intensified. “Let’s go home, sweetheart.”

“Yes, my wolf,” I said solemnly as his strong hand held my weak head up. He gave me one last peck on the cheek, then let me go and started the car. I laid back in my seat as my body felt as though it had given up on me. The drive was silent; Jerry had his hand firmly on my thigh the whole time as if I was about to run away at any given chance. With what energy? I don’t even know if my legs will support me once I have to get out of the car.

We finally arrived at the apartment, and my heart was hammering with utmost anxiety. I was watching the garage door open, praying for it to become jammed. Just to buy me more time before the inevitable. Unfortunately, it opened without any delay, and I felt Jerry squeezing my thigh before he dove in and parked.

“Don’t move,” Jerry commanded spiritedly as he switched off the engine.

“Yes, my wolf,” I said somewhat deflated. Once Jerry was out of the car, I studied the garage. Jacob’s vehicle was nowhere to be seen. Dread started to fill my heart, but the sound of the door opening next to me pulled me away from my brooding thoughts. Jerry unbuckled my seatbelt and then positioned his arm behind my back and the other below my knees.

As soon as I realized what he wanted to do, I quickly withdrew, “Wait, I’m too heavy!”

“Shh, my gem, do not think so little of my strength! How do you think I got you in my bed last night?” he laughed and effortlessly lifted me out of the car. I was baffled; he made me feel as though I was light as a feather. Not even Michael, who is also a strong man, was able to do this.

Jerry grinned in triumph as his eyes met my wide, disbelieving orbs. “There’s so much you need to learn about me, sweetheart, but it will come in time,” he boasted, then kissed my cheek.

He carried me inside the apartment. His steps hastened, as did his breathing, the closer he got to his room. Once Jerry entered, he kicked his bedroom door closed with his foot. I was afraid of what was to come. He gently placed me on his bed, then eagerly captured my face as he climbed on top of me, attempting to kiss me.

I tried to retreat, but Jerry firmed his hold on me. “Please,” I begged carefully not wanting to piss him off, but he was too much in a spell.

“I want you, sweetheart, your wolf is very, very hungry,” he husked gutturally between kisses, his hands touching my body with much need.

“Please stop,” I begged again, but instead of heeding my cry, Jerry groped me and bit my lips.

“Hmm, maybe if you felt what I can do to you, you’d not be so on the fence with me,” he panted excitedly and started taking off his shirt with alacrity. “You’ll only experience real love from me compared to that pathetic dipshit,” he breathed as he yanked my scarf from my neck. “After I have finished with you, you will never want another,” he exhaled deranged as he formed a fist on my blouse.

“Please, Jerry! All I need is someone just to—” I cried a heartrending sob while hugging myself and trembling. I was so scared. If I fight back, will he hurt me? Will he snap and kill me? He must then do as he pleases, but I have morals. I will fucking fight tooth and nail even though I know I am not strong enough to hold my own against him. His face changed to an expression I could not read. I closed my eyes as I continued to sob, waiting for him to do what he wanted, readying myself for battle.

All of a sudden, I felt him climb off of me, and his strong arms pulled me to lay on his bare chest. I flinched in pure terror, and my crying worsened. “I am sorry, sweetheart,” Jerry whispered tenderly as he wiped my tears from my face. “My desire for you is so raw. I cannot help myself. Three months of you in my dreams only made my need for you fiercer. You may not believe or understand, but you are my chosen, and if the Gods will allow, you will soon be my fated.” He placed two fingers beneath my chin and lifted my head to look at him. “I love you with all that I am, Laura—my Laura.”

The moment I heard him declare his love, I forgot about the demented crap he spoke just moments before. “How? I don’t know you, Jerry. I just had a breakup; give me time to—” I could not finish my words as I continued to ugly cry.

He firmed his arms, gently cradling me, to offer me comfort. “I will try sweetheart, but it’s so fucking difficult, knowing with just a few easy steps—” He stopped and kissed my cheek. “I can make you want me—” He kissed my neck and husked softly, “Need me.” Jerry tightly squeezed me like a python with his strong arms, left a prolonged kiss on my collarbone, and murmured in almost a whisper against my skin, “Crave me.”

I shivered in disgust and absolute dread. I couldn’t stand him, his touch, and anything associated with him. This man was crazy, an absolute fucking nutcase. All I could do was continue to sob. Jerry affectionately held me against his chest and let me weep. I felt my sleeve being lifted on my left arm and heard him release a disapproving snort. Jerry grazed his thumb over my skin, looking intently at my arm, deep in thought. I followed his gaze, but I couldn’t see anything. As though reading my thoughts, he said, “One day it will all make sense, my treasure.”

I managed to survive the rest of the night with Jerry, and though he smothered me, he did not try anything after I had my breakdown. He ordered Italian for us, and we ended up eating while watching a movie in the living room. I was surprised; he bought a new sleeper couch and set it up in bed form in an attempt to make the night somewhat romantic.

Jerry seemed to try and be more gentle with me; he did not force me to kiss him again, though he made sure I was close to him. When it was time for sleep, he carried me to his bed. Amazingly enough, he only kissed my temple and then left; he spent the night on the couch.

This morning I woke up to a cup of coffee and cereal; I was completely taken aback. Jerry was almost—sweet; I finally started to relax as we chatted for a little bit. He let me get ready and took me to work. Before I got out of the car, he only pointed to his cheek, which I understood and gave him a quick peck then got out.

Work today was dismal apart from Bethany; she was an absolute sweetheart, very much like a mother hen looking out for me and making sure I was coping with the day. Jacob avoided me like the plague, and Liam spent the whole day in his office. Keres never came to the bistro which was an absolute blessing.

It was now close to nine, and it was just me, Beth, Joey, and Liam at the bistro. The second half of the day conveniently flew past quickly, but I think it had to do with Murphy’s law. I dreaded seeing Jerry again, and of course, time would conveniently tick by swiftly. Up until now, I still could not get Liam’s face out of my mind; the complete hatred and disgust that he showed, made me feel so helpless and sad. Why did it even bother me so? It’s not like he is anything to me, except being my boss.

I needed to see Liam again; I had to talk to him and try to get his help. I don’t know why, but my gut was screaming he was my safe place. I took a deep breath and made my way to his office door.

Jacob was elated that I accepted his offer to stay with him. I personally think his excitement was mostly amplified by getting the chance to leave work early. We wasted no time and went straight to Michael's place. Luckily, a week ago, I made an excuse to clean my cupboards, allowing me to sneakily pack my things without raising suspicion. I also don't have much to pack, so it was super easy. I divided all my items from the things Michael had gifted me because I did not want to take anything that reminded me of him. He is the past, and that's where he needs to stay.So far everything fits perfectly in the trunk. Just as I retrieved my last box of items, Michael appeared from the shadows like a creature from a horror film. "You already found another man to leach off financially?" he hissed in a dangerous dark tone.Of course, I jumped at the sudden reveal, then responded in a somewhat calm voice, "Firstly, he is my friend, and secondly, I do not see why it should upset you so.
