Cybel shifted in her seat, the couple who was tasked with bringing her home to collect her belongings were unfamiliar to her and she worried that not all werewolves were as nice as the Alpha’s family.
“Is this it?” Gregory glanced at her through the rearview mirror and nodded in satisfaction when she answered yes.
“I’ll just be in and out,” Cybel mumbled and pushed open the car door, but before she could step out Matilda’s voice stopped her.
“I’ll just go inside with you.” Her tone was both kind and stern and Cybel’s argument died in her throat.

Will’s four paws skidded to a halt even before he saw the arrow whizzing his way, the group of wolves behind him, coming just as much of an abrupt stop. It didn’t take a genius to know they were under attack. “Dad, attack at the northern border.” Will fixed his stance and growled in the direction the arrow came from, he could hear footsteps and the crack of dry leaves and sticks, but they had yet to show themselves. The hour ticked by at a snail’s pace, the sun was already high in the sky and the morning’s patrol was now a morning tragedy, Max didn’t know how to face his pack.
