“Will!” The car barely came to a stop and Star was already on her feet flying into her son’s arms. Standing outside Lindy’s store Will chuckled in relief when he felt his mother’s arms around him.

“Hi, Mom.” He squeezed back with just as much ferocity and felt his Dad’s arms go around them both. “There’s a girl with me, her name is Kiah, we told people she was my girlfriend so please go with it,” Will whispered to them and simultaneously they nodded.

“Kiah, I’m so glad you’re okay.” Star turned to face the unknown girl and hugged her like she has known her for years.

“Thank you,” Kiah answered shyly, hugging the woman back to keep up pretenses, pushing aside the discomfort she felt.

“Mom, Dad, this is Lindy, the kind lady who helped us.” Star and Max thanked her and offered to pay her for her generosity, but the old woman just scoffed.
