Chapter 02 Flashback.

Flashback:

Crystal Moon conference room:

“I can’t believe you brought that thieving heffa here; you know damn well I don’t like her Mina.” Ji’lahni said angrily looking at an unphased Lucky. “This isn’t about you right now; you didn’t ask me how I felt about bringing Trixie here. I didn’t like her ass either, but I knew she was your best friend so I dealt with it.” Mina said standing up to Ji’lahni, she didn’t have a comeback because Mina was right she didn’t say anything or even asked Mina how she felt about it. “Fine but I’m telling you right now Lucky, keep your fucking hands-off people’s shit, somebody will be watching your ass 24/7.” Ji’lahni said, going to stand in from of Lucky who was smiling. “Lahni I am here to help you, Mina called me. I didn’t come here to be treated like some common thief.” Lucky said in fake anger. “Bitch you are a thief.” Ji’lahni shot back.

“Yea, but ain’t shit common about me, and honestly I don’t even know why you still hate me.” Lucky said, standing in from Ji’lahni. Lucky was used to Ji’lahni’s attitude, it never use to bother her. But that was a long time ago and now she don’t understand why Ji’lahni was still mad. When they were kids Ji’lahni thought that she was a bad influence on Mina. But Lucky never allowed Mina to do anything bad, no matter how many times Mina asked. The one and only time Mina was with her, was when she got a job to steal a car. Mina followed he and waited until she got in the car, Mina Jumped into the car like she was on the dukes of hazard. That was the first and last time she was ever caught. She was so busy trying to get Mina out of the car she didn’t see the cops sneak up on them.

When the police called Ji’lahni she assumed that Lucky was the one that got Mina into trouble. She didn’t want her best friend to get in trouble so she took the blame. And ever since than Ji’lahni always turned her nose up at her. They were teenagers then, so she didn’t know why Ji’lahni was still carrying that anger. “You know damn well why I don’t like you. Every time you are around Mina starts acting out getting caught up in your mess.” Ji’lahni responded. “Now wait a minute that is not fair we were kids; we have all grown adults now. I run a highly respectable recovery business.” Lucky said proudly.

“Oh, cut the shit Lucky! You steal what rich people want you to steal, then you rob them blind.” Ji’lahni, said crossing her arms. “That is untrue I do not rob people anymore. I am offended that you would even think that about me.” Lucky said, sadly. “Oh really? Ok than. CHARMS GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE AND BRING YOUR STASH!” Ji’lahni yelled into the room. Everybody frowned looking around because they didn’t see anyone else with the human. “NOW CHARMS!” Ji’lahni yelled again louder this time. “Alright, alright you don’t have to yell; you know that shit hurts my ears.” “WATCH YOUR DAMN MOUTH!” All three of the women, said at the same time. A small brown little girl with two fire red curly puffs in her head, who was the exact replica of Lucky. Lucky’s eyes matched her hair exactly. But the little girl had Shades on that hid her eyes. She came from under the table and walked over to Ji’lahni and placed the backpack on the table. Then ran to Ji’lahni wrapping her little arms around her waist for a hug.

Ji’lahni face lost her anger immediately as she picked up the girl and hugged tightly. “I thought I told you to stop letting your momma drag you on her crazy missions.” Ji’lahni said as she held the little girl in her arms. “I know, but you know momma would get arrested and then who would buy me the latest barbie dream house and all the barbie dolls I want.” The little girl said with a shrug, before wiggling down and going to hug Mina who picked her up. Ji’lahni grabbed the backpack off the table and pour out of all the stuff in it. They had books, strolls, antique weapons, and they even took a painting of what looked like it was more than hundred years old no doubt a painting of their ancestors in wolf form. “Damnit Lucky what the hell, I asked you to come help me and you come here stealing people’s shit.” Mina said, shaking her head, hugging Charms tightly. “Hey, you didn’t tell me all the details about what you wanted me to do. I usually have to prove myself to my clients so they know that I am the best at my job. I wasn’t going to take any of this stuff it was a demonstration. And for god sakes put Charms down, she is not a baby. You, Shawna, Lahni, and Trixie has spoiled her enough.” Lucky said reaching for the little girl who hugged Mina tighter, as Mina turned out of Lucky’s reach.

“ENOUGH! I’m sorry Mina but I can’t allow someone like this into my pack. We have enough problems to deal with and if she is who my mate says she is than she could have the authorities after her surrounding our pack as we speak. That would put us all in danger.” Makahi said, nodding to one of his men to escort the woman out. Mina put Charms down and went to Ji’lahni. “What the hell cousin, you know she is the only one who can help us find Shawna and Trixie. You know we don’t have a lot of time to find them, we need Lucky.” “Wait a minute, is that why you asked me to come here? What happened to Shawna and how do you think I can help?” Lucky asked, ripping her arm away from one of the men who were escorting her and her daughter out. Ji’lahni’s shoulders sagged because she knew Mina was right.

Alpha Makahi saw his mate was barely holding it together and wouldn’t be able to tell this woman what they were up against, turning to Lucky, “Shawna and Trixie has been kidnapped by Human hunters lead by someone named The Doc. The last time we found him, it was through Trixie’s connections. But now that she is one of the ones who were kidnapped. We don’t have any way of finding out where this hunter organization is. Even if we manage to find the place, no doubt he will have the place hidden and locked up tight with every form of security known to man which will make it nearly impossible to get in.” Makahi said, looking at his mate as her and Mina’s eyes grew wide before turning to look at Lucky. “Uh, I know damn well he didn’t just say impossible right in my face.” Lucky said, angry for the first time since she got there. “He did that momma.” Charms said, looking at Makahi like he said a bad word. Just like Trixie hated liars, Lucky hated the word impossible being said in her.
