Chapter 86: Waiting

Mei sits next to me as we both let the minutes pass. Deidre is sitting next to Solange and both quietly hold each other's hands. I focus on that small gesture for a moment, and smile at the fact that their sisterhood is not gone.

Minutes turn to hours, and my nervousness creeps. I stare at my phone for a second longer then pick it up and try to call Ro. The other side rings but no one answers.

"They will be fine, they are probably trying to deal with everything that they found there. I am not envious of their place," Mei sighs. "A lot of dead bodies and a lot of pain."

I nod at her but deep down I feel restless. Ro was supposed to call me and yet he didn't. What was wrong?
