After learning of Erix's history, I find myself in the kitchen. I couldn't fathom how much pain Erix had to carry on himself. Having a mate would have lessened that burden if only he had one, and he was accepted, but to no avail; Isabelle rejected him. What kind of a mate leaves her fated pair into a mess?

My stomach grumbled and warned me to eat soon or I would suffer later. Not feeling like cooking, I grabbed an apple from the bowl I saw sitting on the counter and sat next to a pretty blond girl who looked like she was working on something that looked like college homework. I remembered her face from last night. But I couldn't remember her name.

She smiled at me when she caught me looking at her. I felt bad staring.

"Hi, Rain," she said, making me feel even worse for not remembering her name. "I'm Yelan, remember?"

I felt relieved when she mentioned her name.

"Right, of course. How are you?"

She looked down at her homework and groaned.

"I'm fine, but this calculus homework is

Erix didn't seem bothered by the fact that he was practically naked before me, and I don't know why. The two explanations I could come up with are maybe he used to be like this because this is his room. He probably didn't mind if someone walked in. Or he used to come here in his wolf form, and when he shifts, he's naked, not minding it. Thankfully, I had yet to do that before anyone, but I knew it couldn't be avoided forever. When I was sure it was safe to get up, I looked at a fully dressed Erix. He looked hot. I mean, yeah, he is hot. He's hotter than Killian. Period. That's it. I couldn't deny that. It would be a lie to say otherwise. "Dinner is almost ready. The pack members are waiting for us downstairs," he said. "Okay, I'll clean up quickly and meet you down there," I replied before taking off my ponytail. I don't know if it was just me, but I saw Erix's eyes flash something when I looked at him after letting my long black hair down like a curtain. I know my hair is healthy

Somewhere in my mind, I knew it was merely a dream, but I couldn't find my way back to reality. I was lost in my mind, with no one to bring me out of my suffering. "He rejects us!" my wolf whispered. "Our mate chose another mate over us." My wolf whimpered at the new realization. And I wished for anything I could to console her, But I was just as broken as her. I felt weak and sick. I had to grab the table to keep my balance. Killian became concerned but didn't move to help me. "He married Isabelle behind our back! He lied to us!" My wolf screamed and showed how broken she was. "Without him, we are nothing, Rain. Let's end our suffering; let's end it right now! "Rain."No. Killian left me! He left me for another mate. I grabbed my chest. I-I… just…I can't. It hurts so much!"Rain!" Someone was shaking me vigorously. Leave me alone! You left me. You broke me! Just go!"Rain, you have to wake up. It's just a dream," I felt disoriented. Who was talking? Where was that voice com

My now-shifted wolf body sprinted as fast as it could. Within seconds, I could hear hundreds of feet running toward me. I know they were Erix's warriors. They must have sensed the presence of a rogue that invaded their territory. I wasn't marked yet, so they weren't aware of my scent. I could hear growls from a distance, but my wolf seemed like it didn't bother to stop and submit. She continued running like she wanted to go somewhere. "Where are we going?" I asked her, panicking. "To the place where we can end this once and for all," she replied. When I heard this, I realized she wanted to kill us, just like I did months ago after the rejection. Unlike me, my wolf suffers a lot. She was the most affected when the bond between Killian and I was severed. "No, no! This is just a dream. Please wake up!"My wolf didn't listen to me. Instead, she continued running without any plans of slowing down despite being chased by warriors. My wolf stopped when we reached a cliff. "Don't think

My eyes shifted to Erix who was standing above me with a grave expression on his face. He only looked at me briefly before making eye contact with Lucas. "It's the dream," he answered. Recognition passed through Lucas. He looked back at me with sympathy. "So that's it," he mumbled. "Can you give her something for it?" Erix asked though he already told me before, there was only one thing that could help me. The doctor looked despondent and sighed. "I'm afraid not. I can prescribe some strong sleeping pills but due to our body running warmer than normal, it would burn off before the night is over.""Then what do you suggest?" I asked hoping he had another solution. "Well, it's not going to completely cure you of your dreams, but it will keep the pain out of them. They won't be able to get to you anymore.""The claim," I said, already knowing what he would say. Lucas nodded. "Yes, the claim." "You helped Erix with this didn't you?" I asked him. He gave me a sympathetic look befor

It was nearly six in the morning when Erix turned the lamp off by the bed, letting the natural light from daybreak slip between the curtains. He was about to go back to this bed when I caught his hand. He seemed surprised by my gesture. "Can you stay by my side until I fall asleep, Please?" I asked him. "Maybe you can keep the dream away." I needed him, but I didn't like how weak I sounded when I asked him to stay. I hated to appear weak. I hated to rely on anyone. I was independent. That's how I have always been. It was what separated me from my pack. No one was like me in that way. However, right here and right now, I couldn't have been vulnerable since the day I was rejected. The surprise on his face never wears off but nods his head. "I'll stay."I couldn't be relieved when he agreed. He rounded the other side of the bed and got in next to me. His arm gently draped over my side as we faced each other. Sleep finally made its way over me again before the morning finally settled i

With my shoes in my hand, I took off on an exploration. The dirt and grass under my feet felt good. I felt close to nature. My wolf would have loved it. If I let her, she would spend hours getting lost in the woods just for enjoyment. I'll have to remember to let her do that sometimes, provided I have the chance. It was starting to get dark. The sky was twilight, so my human eye could still see the forest before me. At some point, I wandered off the trail. I'm not sure when but now I was just walking around aimlessly through the thick greenery and trees of the woods. I was lost; I knew that much but wasn't scared. I had been lost in the woods dozens of times as a kid, so I was used to this. I always managed to find my way out somehow, though. I'll just have to do that again. It shouldn't be too hard. I continued to hike around a little longer, searching for the path that would lead me back to the house, when I heard twigs snapping a few meters away. I immediately snapped toward the

  • The Howl of Rejection   Chapter 42: Unmarked She-wolf is Rare

Five wolves were waiting there for me when we got to our pack borders, and Erix was not among them. A few lights on posts scattered around close by helped my human eyes to see at night, and I was thankful for that. I hadn't held onto all of my superhuman senses with the current state of my wolf, my night vision being one of them. It was considerably weakened. The Alpha, whom I had met in the woods, was in his wolf form a few feet before me. It seemed the pack members knew him as they bowed their heads in acknowledgment. Jude was the first to speak. "Quintin," he said politely, watching the wolf. His eyes then moved to mine. He looked worried and a little upset. It mirrored the rest of the wolves' faces. This was nothing like the laid-back, teasing Jude from the last night. He was serious and concerned now. I felt bad I had caused all of this. Guilt was eating away at me. They probably looked for me all night if I hadn't shown back up. Quintin shifted up into his human form aga

The week spent in bed was the slowest I had ever endured. It felt like a month rather than a week, and I owe that to all my suffering. No one said it would be quick and easy. "You missed dinner with the pack, so I'll make you something you'd like."I smirked at him, finally able to loosen up a little now. "I'm in the mood to eat seafood right now. Can you make one?" I asked him. I have been craving those foods rather than meat. I know seafood is out of the menu in his pack. I feel like I want to play a bit with him and see if he'll do something. He didn't smile at first until he noticed a smile on my face. "Okay then, we'll go out."I shook my head. It was just a joke. "That's alright; it's already late now. I'll find something in the kitchen to munch on." He was already grabbing his keys off the desk and headed to the door, not even listening to me. Clearly, he had already made up his mind, and there was no change. "I missed it too, and I want to eat something different. I'm h

“Will you marry me?” The first words came from Erix’s mouth when I woke up. I was about to yawn and prepare myself for a whole day of Luna and Mother duty. I looked at Erix and then at the white and gold ring with a diamond and some bluish precious stones circling the largest diamond. “Uhm, Erix?” I asked him, confused. “We already became mates, a werewolf wedding, plus we already had four children. I think it’s too late for this,” I added. “It’s never been too late for us to get married, baby,” Erix said as he held my left hand. “It’s my dream to marry a woman I love like my Dad did to Mom.”I smiled at him. What he said warmed my heart, and who am I to say no to him? “Will you marry me, Luna?” He asked again. I nodded at him. “Yes, Erix. I’ll marry you,” I said. “So when are you going to marry me?” I added, teasing him after he slid the ring to my finger and kissed it.“As soon as possible,” he replied. “I want an extravagant wedding, something we can never forget. I start to pick up the pace as his hips begin to move back and forth into my fingers that have wrapped tightly around his length. His strong thighs trembled from my touch, and his eyes fluttered open, looking at me. Up and down using slow, strong strokes; I love watching this, watching him gasped quietly through slightly parted lips. I'm glad because I am the only one who can bring this side of him. "The kids had already slept?" Erix asked me as soon as I entered our room. "Yeah. The twins finally settled down," I said, sighing before I climbed on the bed. My original plan was to sleep early, but Erix had something in his mind as soon as he put the book he was reading and started kissing me."You have no idea how long I waited, Rain," Erix said in between little nips of my skin, not enough to cause real pain, just enough to entice a rush of endorphins to be released into my bloodstream, causing excessive pleasure to rage throughout my body. I growled so loud. It was the only way for the black wolf to distract what he was doing with my Rain. The wolf stopped from biting her. Rain collapsed on the ground, panting heavily. Pregnant she-wolves were prohibited from shifting since the baby might crash. But why on earth was Rain in her wolf form despite being pregnant? The answer lies in the bastard, who had a cocky smirk, even in his wolf form. Suddenly, ten wolves tried to tackle me on the ground. I was too careless; my whole attention was with Rain, and I forgot I was in a battleground. The wolves pinned me down, ensuring I could see what was happening with Rain. Rain looked at me, still panting. She was forced to stand up but failed miserably. There was another wolf behind her who was covered in blood, and I doubt if it's still breathing. Rain's wolf huffed, trying to crawl to me, but the Black wolf stepped on her back. Rain whispered as I growled at the black wolf, warning him not to dare. The black wolf looked at

Erix's point of viewWhat Jordan told me was like a bomb exploding in my face. Rain is pregnant, not mine, but with someone else's baby! My wolf was in a rage; it wanted to rip this man's head before me, but I tried to calm him down. But what enraged me more was the man who had her was none other than Diesel Saavedra, Zander's best friend. "Starting from your parent's death to Rain's pregnancy, it was all planned," Jordan told me as he was driving. "The Blood Pack was just a distraction that Diesel had created and secretly pulled the string without anyone noticing it," he added. "Is there any particular reason why that bastard decided to ruin mine and Rain's life?" I said, trying to calm down. "For power," he said. "And for Rain. He has been wanting her since she was just a little girl; hence, he impregnated her because he wanted Rain to be his mate, and getting her pregnant through threat was just a bonus.""Threatening her?""Yes, like he'll kill you and your pack, which we know

"Erix," I breathe, stepping through the front door. He clenched his jaw and looked at me. "Rain?" His voice was shaky. "Erix, I'm home," I smiled and ran to him. He pulled me into a tight hug. Tears form in my eyes. I'm relieved to finally go home. "I thought you were dead," Eris whispered in my hair. I fell silent for a while. "Rain, you have to leave," he croaked. I pulled away from him and furrowed my eyebrows."What? Why?" "There's someone else, Rain. You were gone so long that I couldn't help but fall in love with someone else," he said.A look of regret crossed his face. My lips parted, and I started to say something."What about Clay? Amira? Where are they?""They're fine. They have a new mom now. You left them, and it's all your fault," Erix growled. It's all my fault."B-but I can explain why I was gone," I begged him to just listen to me, but Erix didn't show any sympathy. "I don't need someone like you anymore. Hence, I should have let you die when you decided to kil

"Who are you? Why are you trespassing on my territory?"A man in his late forties appeared behind a large tree. Five more wolves joined him and bore their canines to us. "P-please," Alice begged them. "We don't mean any harm. We only crossed this land because we were being chased. We're sorry for trespassing, sir."The white wolf who tackled Alice let her go and shifted into a man. He looked intently at Alice as if fighting something within him. "Where did you come from, and who was chasing you?" the older man asked. "We're from Greyhound Pack," Alice replied. Suddenly, a loud growl erupted from the man who shifted recently. "That bastard's pack!?" he growled. "Calm down, Jean. We need to know how they came here and stuff. Take them to the pack for interrogation," the older man said. He was probably the Alpha. Some of the wolves carried our bags and shifted into their human form as we walked to a path cleared of snow.We walked for about half an hour before a beautiful and mode

"Rain, do you think you can walk?" Alice asked me out of nowhere. "Yes, I can. Why?" "I feel uneasy. Let's get out here. Something bad would happen when I feel like this," she added. "Come, let's go," she said, bringing out the bags full of baby's clothing and some of our clothes.Without questioning and believing her, I helped her pack. "It's snowing. The scent of snow blocks any scent of potential intruders. With Diesel's connection, I can' assure us we're still safe here. It's better than sorry."Alice shifted into her wolf form and told me to ride on her back. I did what she wanted, and as soon as I tapped her gently, saying I was good to go, she sprinted at her top speed without particular direction. Despite the thick snow slowing us down, we made it far until we heard a loud howl. It was so loud that it made me and Alice tremble. Alice and I reached a wide river that was partially covered with eyes. We could not go to the other side without crossing that river. Alice looked
