Salem I haven't left the room since the fight with Madison. I stayed the entire evening until the next day. The morning I got up early, feeling the need for a run. My wolf was dying too. Madison was still asleep in her room when I sneaked out and shifted into my white wolf. I covered my markings that screamed I was a member of the River Pack, a high rank, and then I ran into the forest. The Grey Pack was no more, and I had planned to run until my wolf had had enough. The surroundings weren't as brightly lit as yet. I had also awoken before the morning sun. I could find my way running through the forest without falling or hitting anything. It was a wolf thing, or was it dwelling in the depths of the forest for 18 years apart? It felt good to race through the forest alone. I felt a sense of peace; it relaxed me. The morning sunlight had finally arrived. I was panting and tired. I went to a small river and licked some water, quenching my thirst and preparing to head back to Madison
SalemI spun through another page, and I saw a picture of a female. Her hair was like mine, but longer. It was like an endless, beautiful river. She was gorgeous. I, too, had her bright blue eyes. A single finger touched the picture of her, observing her beauty."I'm sorry I had to leave you for a short moment," Madison said, returning to the living room.I stood up, frightened, and dropped the book. The book lay open on the floor, revealing the page featuring a female who resembled me.Madison looked at me as if she was surprised by the book I had. She then hurriedly came over, removing it from the floor."I'm sorry," I apologized, hoping I didn't offend her in any way, but still, I was curious about that book. It was about my kind, the River Pack."I see you've found the book; my ex-mate wrote about the River Packs while studying them before he fell in love with their Luna," Madison grumbled as she shut the book and angrily threw it back into the box.I knew it was about us. At that
SalemThe entire morning, Madison stayed in her room. I blamed myself for her sudden change of mood.I hurriedly searched through the book for more pictures of my kind, but there were only two pictures. My mom in her human form and her wolf form. The book was mostly words; sadly, words I cannot read because I am illiterate.I heard Madison's door close. I quickly threw the book back into the box and took up the small book she was using to teach me the alphabet before she could spot me with the book her ex-mate wrote about my kind.My head lifted from the picture alphabetical book as if I were looking through it as I heard her enter the living room. She smiled at me.I returned her smile."I'm sorry, I have gotten you all excited to start reading, and then my painful past will ruin things for you," she apologized."It's okay," I retorted. "Are you feeling much better now to start teaching me again?" I asked.I was very eager to learn how to read now. I needed to know more about my kind.
Salem"Rain, rain," I heard Madison call.I looked at her, sitting opposite me around the dining table."Didn't you want fry sausage as well for your dinner since you love it?" she asked.I gazed at her with a heavy pain in my heart. I wanted to be mad at her for burning the book that was the closest thing I had about my pack and learning about them, but she destroyed it because my mom and her ex, my dad, had fallen in love. I couldn't express my anger to her; she would be suspicious of my reaction to that book, and my secret could be out in the open."Rain, Rain," Madison again called, seeing I wasn't answering her."Fry sausage is fine." I finally retorted and took a bite at the sausage.Madison smiled at me and continued to eat.Dinner was over; she took the dishes and went into the kitchen.I went upstairs and laid in bed.Crushed, I watched as the fire consumed every page, leaving me with no hope of learning about my kind. The fire consumed every page. There was no point in me lea
SalemWolf by wolf, the lost laid their object to commemorate their lost ones, while the ones who had found their mate held each other closely, and the ones who didn't hoped for the next full moon they would be lucky to find their mate.Madison slowly walked to the trees and kissed the stuffed toy she had chosen for her daughter, laying it beneath the tree. I followed behind, placing the small container with the droplet of rain. We then held hands, leaving the tree together.I thought the event was over after we'd commemorated our loved ones, but it wasn't. There was an after-celebration within the alpha's home."I don't want to enter his home." I paused before the alpha's home as I told Madison sadly.Madison stopped and looked at me.As she was about to say something, a short, dark-haired female approached us.She ran to Madison and hugged her happily from behind.Madison turned around, returning her hug, delighted to see her."I thought you weren't going to come," said Madison to th
Salem"Rain, I've placed your clean clothes in the closet," said Madison."Yes," I answered as I studied my naked human form in the large bathroom mirror."Do you have a clean pair of clothes to wear in the bathroom?" Madison asked, now standing outside at the door of the bathroom."Yes," I again replied, glancing at the blue jeans pant and light blue blouse I had chosen myself to wear."Okay, I'll be downstairs. Don't take too long; remember, you have learning to do after breakfast," Madison went off.I touched my belly, hating how it had changed since my stay with Madison. My finger pressed into it. It felt hard, and it was round and fat. It's like everything I've consumed, the fat transferred only into that section.I hit it, loathing how weird I look with a bloated belly. I growled in pain and held my belly, hitting myself too hard."Are you alright up there?" Madison asked."I'm fine," I retorted as I started putting on my clothes.I put on my pants last. It was hard to button, bu
SalemAfter everything I've been through, I can imagine the amount of hurt my mom must have dealt with knowing my father never loved her, especially when she was carrying me.I lay sadly under a tree in the hopes that when I returned, he would be gone by then. Knowing the person he is, I didn't want to see his face again, ever. I began to wish he was truly dead and that my mom was the one living. Why do the bad ones live longer and the good ones die so fast? I couldn't help thinking with a heavy heart. My head rose quickly from the ground upon hearing a sound behind me. I looked around, and I felt a great instinct, as if I were being watched. I've been long enough in the hood; Madison must be concerned about my whereabouts, and so I ran back to her house. I went where I had hidden my clothes and shifted, redressing myself. As I went inside, an uneasy feeling swept over me, knowing my father may be inside still speaking to Madison. I dreaded having to interact with him again. My hand tr
SalemI saw my father, the only family I had alive, hanging from the vine of a tree that was tightly wrapped around his neck, naked and lifeless. I was in such shock that I didn't know if what I saw was true or if my eyes were deceiving me."Rain, rain," I heard Madison's voice. My eyes opened, and I found myself in bed in my room. I looked around, confused."It was a dream," I said softly, relieved it was, but not for Madison to hear.I assumed I had lost my father, but I was just having a horrible daydream. A hand rested on the side of my head, trying to recall how I'd gotten in bed. I remembered lastly, trying to solace Madison after she chased my father away, discovering his lies to her.I heard Madison begin to cry, and I looked at her frighteningly now, knowing what I thought to be a dream—a disheartening daydream—wasn't. What I saw did happen. I did see my father's dead body.I knew it was him because of his scent and his eyes, which were no longer filled with sadness and pain b
SalemThe night we didn't sleep, after we made love, we just lay there gazing into each other eyes. I didn't want to stop gazing into his eyes, for I was so happy, the happiest I'd ever been, nor too did he. I thought I was once happy and safe dwelling with Madison but I wasn't, I was wrong, for what I was feeling now was true happiness. Living with Madison I sometimes had doubts about staying with her but with Alpha Deucalion, I had none. I was just filled with pure excitement knowing every day will be a joy for us.I cannot believe the one I thought was unsafe and dangerous to be around was the safest person to be around now, my alpha mate, Alpha Deucalion. One of my hands reached out to him, gently running it across his face. Alpha Deucalion held my hand within his and bring it to his lips. I watched him as he passionately kissed the palm of my hands."I love you," I told him.His eyes slowly raised from my hands and he pulled me closer to him, allowing our lips to almost touch."I
SalemI was so nervous that tomorrow evening I will be standing before Alpha Deucalion's entire pack. Alpha Deucalion saw I was and ensured me that there was nothing to worry about and that he will be next to me. The last words I find great comfort in knowing he'll be by my side. Once I had him next to me, I had nothing to worry about. Alpha Deucalion felt like my strength and my confidence, everything I feel I'm lacking he made me feel like I wasn't. I was glad I was going to be okay with him.I sat down in my room while Alpha Deucalion went out for a while."Miss Salem, Jane is here to meet you," I heard the maid.I was so surprised by her words that I stood up right away. Soon I saw Jane entering my room. I couldn't believe it was her.The maid went away."Jane," I said. I thought she wanted nothing to do with me.Jane ran to me in tears and wrapped her arms around me, we cried."I felt so bad that I left you alone," she said."It's okay, I'm fine," I told her. "Alpha Deucalion is
Salem"That's us, our future," I spoke to him.He steadily took his time inside the room and then paused before the portal."It will be us if you give us a chance," I again spoke to him.Alpha Deucalion looked at me and I smiled. I was later surprised at what he did, he stretched out one of his hands towards me to hold, and I gently held it. As I did he pulled me up close to him. I hold his hand tightly not wanting to let him go. He then wrapped one of his hands around me."See we can be happy together, no matter how the past between us as been."His head turned from the portal and he looked me in the eyes as if he could see my soul."Our pups will make us happy," I told him."No, you will make me the happiest wolf and oneday a proud father," he touched my chin.My body shivered at his touch. My heart pounded heavily in my chest as I saw his head lowered for a kiss. My lips quiver by the hot breath from his nostril and my eyes closed preparing for his kiss. When his warm and soft lips
SalemI ran into the room he had given me. I didn't care to lock the door. I went to the end of the bed lowering myself to the carpet, in tears.I can never be your mate, the painful words of Alpha Deucalion kept repeating in my head.My head lowered to the palms of my hand. When I thought there could be us, Alpha Deucalion didn't want it to be. He was still grieving over what he had allowed to happen to me. But I had forgiven him, why can't he forget it, I thought. The morning had ended and it was the afternoon. I stood at my window looking into the forest eagerly for him to return. I needed to talk to him."Ms. Salem," I heard the maid at the door.I immediately wiped away my tears and turned to her. In her hand, she had a tray of food."I brought you your lunch," she told me."Please put it on the bed side table," I informed her bringing myself back to the window.I wasn't hungry. I had lost my appetite. I didn't want to disappoint her after she had taken many hours to prepare it f
Salem "Let her go!" I heard a loud shout. I opened my eyes and I saw the Luna and the others being blown outside by a powerful wind. My head turned around feeling a hand against my right shoulder. It was Alpha Deucalion. "You're safe, I won't let them hurt you anymore," he told me. I was surprised that I wasn't blown away like them but it was Alpha Deucalion who had been holding me all along. I was weak from what they stripped me from my powers. Alpha Deucalion took me up into his arms and took me upstairs. He laid me down on the bed. "Get some rest, don't worry about anything," he told me. I nodded. I watched him as he took off his shirt and went from the room closing the door behind me. I leaped from the bed and went to look through the window, curiously to see what was about to happen. The evil Luna and the others had gotten up ready to fight. Alpha Deucalion walked towards them and I saw them all backing away. They were scared of him. "We want her, stay out of this,"
SalemThough my powers had returned, my body still felt weak. I was hungry. I barely had enough strength to shift into my wolf form. My feet quivered and I kept falling as I ran through the forest. I couldn't run anymore, I had reached my body's limit. My eyes closed as I was about to fall onto my face."I've caught you," I heard Alpha Deuaclion. My eyes opened and I discovered I was in his arms."Your days of running Salem is over," he told me, holding me like a pup in his arms."No one wants me around," I cried to him.Madison didn't want me to and Jane showed it as well.Soon the rain came pouring down.Alpha Deucalion looked me in my eyes as if he was staring deeply into my soul."I want you around," his lips slowly moved. My body raised to his, wrapping my arms around his neck. The rain kept falling and we were both drenched."Let's go home," he said.I nodded still holding him as he carried me to his houseAs we arrived at his home, he instructed his maid to get me dry and some
Alpha DeucalionI monitored her unconscious body, worried. Madison had informed me she had lost a lot of blood, from the horrible scar she had obtained on her face. Salem could never wake up if her powers don't return. How badly I wanted to punish them for hurting her, but I didn't want her to wake up and not see me. I promised her I would never leave her side and I will keep that promise.I held her small hand within mine, pleading to the moon goddess to not let her die. I carried her hand to my face resting it on my lips, it felt so warm and soft. How I wished I had powers like hers to heal her. I felt down not being able to help her like she did with me. It was her kiss that brought me back to life and now all I can do is hold her hand hoping for her to get better soon. It was not enough. The door opened, it was Madison."She almost make you die and you're holding your hand like it never happened," said Madison upset.I said nothing."I know Deucalion that you feel sorry for what y
Salem P.O.VI would be no match for them without my powers. Alpha Deucalion giving up his life for me would be all in vain. I cannot afford it to be so, I will never allow it, tears flooded my eyes as I remembered his lifeless body on the ground. The rain didn't come pouring down like it did, for I had no powers.I slowly stepped backward in fear as I saw their claws emerge from their finger ready to tear me apart. They were nowhere to run for they have encircled me."Don't do this please," I begged.I cried out as Alaric slashed me across the face with his sharp claw.I dropped to my knees shifting into my human form instantly by the sharp pain. I was now naked, and I held the right side of my face in pain while it kept bleeding. My hand shakes as my finger traced the deep wound. They had destroyed my face. It won't heal since I'm powerless and losing too much blood I could die."Please don't do this," my voice shivered as I begged."You have no right to plead after what you have all
Salem P.O.VMy entire body shivered cold, and so did my teeth in my mouth. I was freezing and wet. There was no decent shelter within the forest. I tried many times to stop my tears, to put an end to the rain, but more came streaming down. It was so hard to.Alpha Deucalion's dead body and the image of his face kept appearing in my head. I now blamed myself for his death. I was no better than him when he was once hostile to me."Why couldn't you accept he had changed!" I screamed at myself.I was miserable and tormented. If only I'd forgiven him and accepted that he was sincerely sorry for what he made happened to me, he would be alive.I screamed in anger that my throat and the bottom of my belly begins to hurt. My throat burned finding it difficult to swallow."Take me back to them," I kept sobbing as I tried to create a portal to carry me back to my future self. The portal wasn't opening."I need to see him one more time," I wept.I didn't want to be alone. I needed someone to comf
