Sun rays penetrated into my eyes directly, I felt my head ache alot. I was in Paxton's room- his bed! That was when I remembered what happened last night between me and that handsome stranger. His presence was comforting and unfamiliar. I got down from the bed and saw him standing on the mirror and wearing his shirts and pants. Look away immediately. He noticed my uneasiness and walked to me. “You enjoyed it last night, you saw everything…you don't have to look away now.” He said. My throat hitched and I swallowed hard. How did this happen? Paxton stirred. His voice, flirtatious as he draw closer to my ear, broke the silence. “Morning,” he murmured, he peeked my cheeks which send cold shivers down my spine. “Morning,” I replied softly, my mind still racing. What does this mean now? He grabbed my waist, running a hand through his dark curls. “Need a ride home?” he asked casually, his blue eyes locking onto mine. I blinked, caught off guard by how nonchalant he sounded, as if spending the night together was no big deal. “Uh, sure. Thanks.” I shouldn't expect more than this from him right? I slowly got out of bed, pulling my clothes from the floor. The weight of his gaze on my body followed my every move, the way his lips parted like he was going to say something but he didn't. But when I looked up, he was already slipping into his jacket, pretending not to notice my struggle to steady herself.Does he feel anything? Or am I just another girl? Paxton stood up, tossing on a shirt, his tattoos peeking from under the fabric. He caught me staring and flashed a grin. “Ready?” He asked and I nodded slowly. We stepped outside, the crisp morning air still carrying the warmth of last night’s encounter. I climbed into the passenger seat, Paxton started the engine, his hand brushing the gearshift. A soft rock tune played through the speakers, filling the silence, but it did nothing to ease the tension simmering between us. He glanced at me, his face serious, his eyes locked on mine with an intensity that made my pulse race. “You know,” he said, his voice low, smooth, and possessive, “from today onward, you’re mine. You can come into my room anytime, any day.” His words made me feel uneasy, heavy and undeniable. No one goes into his room twice but did he just invite me to his room again? My chest tightened. “Y-You mean it?” I stammered, my cheeks burning as his gaze didn’t waver. Joy surged through me but I maintained. What does being 'his' really mean? As we drove, I stole glances at him. The way his hand gripped the steering wheel, strong and controlled, made my heart race all over again. His jaw clenched slightly, lost in thought, and I couldn’t help but marvel at how effortlessly attractive he was. The memory of his kiss still lingered on my lips, sending a shiver down my spine. How did I end up here? …. I stepped into the dorm, everywhere recks of alcohol. Spilled drinks, liquor, and too much sweat. My roommates are already asleep. Their snores echoing through the chaos. “Oh, thank God.” I muttered slowly. I couldn't afford to tell them what transpired between me and Paxton last night. What happened between us was too raw, too personal. I needed to process it myself before anyone else could know. I held my head, it hurts. I tiptoed to the fridge and gulped down a bottle of chilled water. I feel so woozy out of last night's alcohol. I tiptoed to the bed and bounced on the bed. My body aching with exhaustion, but my mind was a whirlwind. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Paxton. I could still feel his hands on me, his lips against mine, the way he made me feel alive and reckless, like I was teetering on the edge of something I couldn’t control. What does he see in me? I wondered. Why am I different?. The thoughts Kept going through my mind until I slept off. *** “Wake up, Hailey! We’re almost late for class!” Mia’s voice jotted me through my dreams, yanking me awake. I groaned, rubbing the sleep from my eyes as the mouthwatering smell of food hit me, making my stomach growl. “Ugh, I’m starving,” I mumbled, dragging myself out of bed and heading toward the kitchen. “What’re you making, Jessy?” I asked, trying to shake off the sleep still clouding my mind. “Noodles,” she replied, stirring a pot on the stove. “Oh Hailey, you look so smudged with patches of hickeys on your neck…you know what I mean” Jessy added with joking smile. My stomach dropped at Jessy’s comment. I instinctively raised a hand to my neck, feeling my skin burn under my fingertips. Oh no… “I-I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I stammered, my voice barely a whisper. My cheeks flushed hot as I avoided her gaze, suddenly finding my shoes way more interesting than they had any right to be. Jessy’s grin widened, clearly e lolnjoying my discomfort. “Oh, come on, Hailey. Don’t play coy now,” she teased, her voice dripping with amusement. I bit my lip, my mind scrambling for an excuse, but all I could feel was the pounding of my heart and the warmth creeping up my face. I flopped back onto my bed, pulling my books together for class, but my mind kept drifting back to last night with Paxton. The heat of his body against mine, the feel of his tattoos under my fingers—it all still clung to me. Why me? I wondered, remembering the rumors about how he made girls beg for mercy. But I made him groaned for mercy last night. Why is my case different? I shrugged off the thoughts of him. “So… do you mind tell us where you disappeared to last night?” Mia’s voice interrupted my thoughts, making my heart race. My palms went clammy as I swallowed, trying to keep my cool. “Uh, we all went to the party, didn’t we?” I tried to play it off, but my voice wavered, betraying me. Damn! Jessy and Mia exchanged a look. Jessy grinned. “Yeah, but we all know it didn’t end there once Paxton got you alone,” she teased, her eyes twinkling with curiosity. My stomach sank. I felt exposed, vulnerable. “We just talked,” I lied, my voice shaking slightly. Their eyes were still on me. “Ugh, nothing..else.” I tried to fake a smile. Mia’s expression shifted, frowning as she crossed her arms. “Okay, but why didn’t you tell us about Dimitri? The nerve of him!” I know Mia too well, she is only trying to change the conversation. The mention of Dimitri was like a punch to the gut. I felt the familiar twist of pain deep inside. “He never wanted me,” I whispered, my throat tight. “He wanted to keep me a secret. We were betrothed, but... I guess that’s over now.” I could barely get the words out without choking on them. Jessy wrapped her arms around me, her voice soft. “Hey, don’t let it get to you. Men are scum! You’re stronger than this.” She was right, but I couldn’t shake the weight in my chest. “Come on, let’s eat. Forget about him. And as for Paxton, you still owe us some answers,” she added with a wink, lightening the mood just enough for me to laugh with them. But their words echoed in my mind. *I gave myself to him… but Paxton is still a total stranger. But it feels so good to be disvirgined by him. But it doesn't matter now, I'm just happy that I had to do it to get back at that scumbag... Dimitri. I reminded myself. When we arrived at school, everywhere was noisy. Everyone seemed to be rushing in the same direction, gasps and shouts filling the hallway. “What’s going on?” I asked, glancing around. “It’s Paxton! He’s here!” one girl gushed, pulling out her phone to snap pictures. “Oh my God, he’s so hot,” Mia and Jessy squealed in unison, practically bouncing on their toes. I felt my heart slam against my ribs as I averted my eyes to the direction and my eyes caught with his, it was Paxton! He was walking straight to my direction with his hands on his pockets with confident swagger and charm. His hands were stuffed casually into his pockets, but his gaze—those sharp blue eyes—locked right on me. I froze, my breath catching in my throat. The sun rays penetrated his eyes making his blue eyes shine brightly. His dark curly hair blowing up as he sweeped his hair with his hand. His upper shirt buttons are open revealing his tattoos. *Oh no, not here…* I thought desperately, I gulped hard and quickly hid my face on Jessy's back, hoping to disappear into the crowd. But it was useless—he was already heading straight for me, that mischievous grin playing on his lips. My heart raced faster with every step he took toward me. *What does he want?* Excitement and fear collided inside me as he stopped just inches away, the crowd parting like they were giving him space to claim me. “His body is so perfect! I think I wanna bite him and get down on him already!” The crowd drooled over him. Hearing them saying all that makes the last night's scene rush back to me. "Hailey," he said, his voice low and smooth, sending shivers through me. "After class, as the new cheer queen, make sure you're on time for practice." “Hey man, c'mon let's go or we'd be late for class.” His friends called. He flashed me a grin before turning away, leaving me standing there, my breath catching in my throat. “Oh no! I can't be there at practice. I can't help it,” I muttered to myself, my heart pounding. I turned to leave, but before I could take another step, I felt his presence again. Paxton had double-crossed me, standing so close I could feel the warmth of his breath on my neck. He draw his face closer to mine, whispering, “I’m personally inviting you to today’s practice, cheer queen.” His voice was teasing, but there was something serious in his eyes. His lips was almost touching mine. I forced a smile, though my nerves were getting the better of me. “I… I don’t think I can make it,” I stammered. Without warning, his hand grabbed my waist, pulling me toward him in front of everyone. My heart slammed against my chest, and murmurs filled the air around us. “He’s claiming her!” “So sweet!” “God, I wish I was her!” The students around us were whispering, their eyes glued to us, but I was frozen, unable to think straight. What is he doing? “What are you doing, Paxton?” I whispered, my voice shaky. He ignored me, turning to face the crowd. “Everyone!” His voice boomed, filled with confidence. “I’m personally inviting our cheer queen to today’s practice.” My breath hitched. The heat from his hand on my waist made memories of last night come flooding back—his kiss, his touch. I couldn’t think straight, and all I wanted to do was disappear. He finally let me go, bouncing the ball to his friends and walking away, leaving me standing there, stunned. I swallowed hard, muttering to myself, “I’m definitely not going.” *** Before I could even catch my breath, Jessy and Mira rushed up to me, excitement pouring out of them. “Do you even know what just happened? The almighty Paxton just invited you to practice!” Jessy squealed, practically bouncing on her feet. My heart sank. “I’m not going,” I said flatly, but Mira frowned, crossing her arms. “Are you serious? We can’t go without you!” Jessy pouted, her lips trembling in mock sadness. I sighed, trying to find a way out. “I need to study—exams are coming up fast.” “Exams can wait,” Jessy insisted. “You’re coming, right, Mia?” “Of course,” Mia nodded. “It’s no big deal. You’re just overthinking.” I rolled my eyes, finally giving in. “Fine, just this once.” Both girls jumped and hugged me, practically dragging me into the locker room. Mia tossed me a sports outfit with our university’s logo. “Here! You can wear this.” “Don’t forget a little makeup,” Jessy added, grinning as she tossed me her lip gloss. *** We finished getting ready and made our way to the sports arena. Mia couldn’t stop gushing about Paxton the entire walk. “His body is so fucking gorgeous! Those muscles… I just want to bite him!” she said, her voice full of excitement. I forced a laugh, but my mind wandered. I couldn’t deny Paxton was gorgeous, but after last night, every time I saw him, those memories came rushing back. I wasn’t sure if I could even look him in the eye. As we neared the field, a voice cut through the air, sharp and venomous. “Well, well, well, look who showed up. The boyfriend snatcher herself,” Nikki sneered, fake smile plastered on her face. “Wearing my cheer queen uniform, huh? This is going to be fun.” I clenched my jaw, but I forced politeness into my voice. “Thank you, Nikki.” I could feel Jessy and Mia glaring daggers at her behind me. Two girls stood behind Nikki, mimicking her wicked smirk. “Let’s enjoy the game and see who wins,” Nikki said, strutting off toward the field. “She’s such a witch,” Jessy snarled once Nikki was out of earshot. “So ugly,” Mia added, crossing her arms. Before I could reply, my eyes caught on Paxton, walking confidently toward us. My heart flipped. Oh my goodness.FIVE I stood there like a statue while he walked to me. He was smiling brightly at me. “Hey, Hailey! Thanks for coming!” Paxton called out, he bounced the ball toward the basketball court with his friends. I felt a flutter in my chest, a mix of excitement and nerves. He winked at me, and for a moment, I really want to keep seeing him again and again. “Awwn! He’s such a lover boy!” Jessy gushed, her eyes sparkling with admiration as she nudged me playfully. “C’mon, guys, let’s go sit over there,” Mia suggested, her voice bubbling with enthusiasm. We found seats on the bleachers, the old wood creaking beneath us, we sat down and watched the game. “Do you think Paxton will win again?” I heard one of the girls whisper, and I caught myself biting my lip, trying to focus on anything but their voice were so loud. “Yes! He’s so cute! Only his cuteness and smartness will make him win. He is a God!” another girl exclaimed, and a part of me felt jealous at their ease in gushing over him
Hailey's POVI took a quick shower and dressed up. Standing in front of the mirror, I barely recognized myself. The dress hugged me in all the right places, and my hair was done in a ponytail with ribbons, giving me a youthful glow. "Perfect!" Jessy and Mia both smiled at me. We left around nine o’clock. The party venue was set in the woods, at the infamous fire pit. As we approached, the flickering flames cast an orange glow over the crowd. The air was thick with the scent of burning wood and the sound of laughter, cheers, and loud music. It was just a tent-like cabin made with words from the 1980s and since our school has been for ages, it was made for students in those days and now was slightly refurbished for the new generation students to use. Like us... At the center of the pit, was a huge burning fire. Everywhere was beautiful and noisy. The fire pit was surrounded by students. Boys and girls danced, drank, and flirted with each other, while others threw beer cans and acte
Hailey's POVPaxton draw me closer, his eyes gleaming with that all-too-familiar mischievous smile. “Did you enjoy last night’s sex?” His voice was low, teasing, yet carrying a dangerous edge that sent shivers down my spine. My heart pounded in my chest. I hesitated, feeling the weight of his gaze. The memory of last night still lingered, and despite everything, I nodded. “Yes, I did.” I hated that I couldn’t deny it. I don't have a choice!“Good,” he said, his voice thick with satisfaction. “Let’s do it again. One more time, and I promise, I’ll leave you alone.”Panic flared in my chest. I swallowed hard, trying to muster the strength to refuse. “No, Paxton. This was a mistake.” My voice wavered, betraying the conflict I felt inside. The words weren’t as strong as I wanted them to be.“I can't. Those girls drooling over you would definitely kill me, including Nikki.” I swallowed hard.He raised an eyebrow, his smirk deepening. “You’re worried about Nikki, aren’t you? About the other
Hailey's POVThe next morning, I was still lost in sleep, completely oblivious to the fact that I had a lecture in just an hour. That was, until Jessy’s loud voice jolted me out of my dreams, making my heart leap out of my chest.“Hailey! Hailey! Wake up! I think I saw someone that looks exactly like Paxton in a ridiculously luxurious car waiting out front!” Jessy screamed. My eyes shot open as I bolted upright in bed. “What? Paxton?!” My heart pounded faster than it should have, and I felt a wave of anxiety rush over me. Still dressed in my pink Barbie pajamas, I stumbled to the window and looked down. And there he was. Paxton. Sitting in a sleek black car with his usual smirk. His eyes locked with mine, and instantly, I felt that stupid flutter in my chest again. Ugh, why does this keep happening? Why does my heart feel like it's about to leap out of my body every time he's around? Seriously, someone tell me what the heck is wrong with me!“Oh no, Jessy. What did I do?” I muttered,
Hailey's POVThe drive to school was thick with silence. I stared out the window, my arms crossed tightly against my chest, feeling Paxton’s presence but refusing to acknowledge it. Every time I glanced at him from the corner of my eye, I caught his lips twitching, like he wanted to say something, but didn’t.I wasn’t ready to hear anything from him, not after last night. When we pulled up to the school, I grabbed the door handle before the car had fully stopped. “Thanks,” I mumbled, stepping out quickly. Before I could take two steps, chaos hit. The flashing lights of a thousand cameras went off like fireworks, blinding me. A wave of murmurs swept through the students.“Is that Hailey with Paxton?!” “No way! Did they come to school together?” “Nikki’s gonna lose it!”My breath hitched, and my chest tightened. The crowd began pressing in, and I could feel myself panicking. I'm allergic to too much crowding.Just when I thought I’d be swallowed by the attention, Paxton’s arm slid aroun
Hailey's POV“Who amongst you did this?!” Jessy’s voice cut through the laughter like a knife, and an awkward silence fell over the classroom. Every pair of eyes darted between me and Nikki, who leaned back against her desk with an air of smugness. I could feel the weight of their gazes, and I was done with being the butt of their jokes.I marched over to Nikki, my heart pounding in my chest. “What’s gonna happen now?” someone whispered, but I didn’t care. “Nikki! How dare you picture me at the party without my consent?” I spat, my voice steady despite the turmoil inside.Nikki laughed, a high-pitched sound that made my skin crawl. “And who are you? A God? Or a poor scholar?” Her friends joined in, cackling like hyenas.“Now you listen to me, you jealous freak! It’s not entirely my fault that your beloved betrothed rejected you! You should get over your rejection already and move on. Crazy slut!” I couldn’t believe the words that poured out of my mouth. Where the hell did I get this
Paxton's POVThe Lambo rolled to a smooth stop in front of the mansion, and I slid out, shoving my hands into my pockets. The maids were already lined up, heads bowed as I walked past them. "Good day, sir!" they chimed in unison, but I didn’t bother to acknowledge them. My mind was somewhere else.Just as I reached the staircase, I felt something cold and sticky dribble onto my chest. I glanced down to see orange juice staining my uniform.“You idiot!” I roared, turning to the maid who had spilled the drink. Her face went pale as she dropped to her knees, trembling. “Are you blind? You’re fired!”“I’m so sorry, sir! Please, it was an accident—” she pleaded, but I was already walking away, the anger bubbling up inside me. **I don’t have time for this.**I reached the sitting room and found my mom pacing. I barely had a chance to greet her before she started in on me. “Paxton, I want you to reject her! That girl... Hailey or whatever her name is, she’s not worth it! You need to be with
Hailey's POVI stared at Paxton's message, my heart racing a little faster than it should. He wanted to meet up with me after practice? Why did that make me feel... warm? I couldn’t help but smile, but I quickly wiped it away when I noticed Mia and Jessy staring at me like hawks."What?" I asked, trying to act cool as I shoved my phone aside."You were totally smiling just now!" Mia giggled, her eyes gleaming with curiosity."Paxton, I guess," Jessy added, leaning in with a teasing grin. "God, this room is about to explode from your blushing."I groaned, trying to deflect the attention. "Ugh, he just... he chatted me, okay?""And?" Mia's excitement was palpable. "Did he say he loves you?"I rolled my eyes, though I couldn’t stop my lips from twitching. "No! He just asked me to meet him after practice.""Oh my gosh!" they both squealed in unison."I didn’t even give him an answer yet," I muttered, but they were already too busy bouncing up and down with excitement."What? Why not? You
Hailey's POVI waited for the trumpet, my nerves on edge. Of course, they chose Nikki for me. Out of everyone, it had to be her. Great, just great. I caught Paxton and Dimitri glaring at each other again. Those two were like cats and dogs—one glare away from a full-on brawl. I rolled my eyes. Boys. Then, the trumpet blasted through the clearing, and everyone charged into the woods. I took a deep breath. Sure, I’m a werewolf, but these dense, shadowy woods still sent a shiver down my spine. It's creepy in here...plus, I’m stuck with Nikki, who wasn’t even trying to walk at my pace.“Hold on, Nikki. We’re supposed to stick together, remember?” I called, trying to match her pace. She whipped her head around with a look of utter disgust. “Oh, please! You can run if you want. There are, like, a million mosquitoes here, and I am *not* about to be their snack!”I rolled my eyes and jogged to catch up, trying to ignore her ‘princess’ attitude. I started spotting treasures, though, tucked unde
Hailey's POVLos Angeles's forest was everything we’d hoped—towering trees arched above us, shielding us from the sun as a gentle breeze cooled the air. The bus doors swung open, and everyone flooded out, stretching and yawning. Even though excitement buzzed around, exhaustion from the jet lag weighed heavy on us.I barely had a moment to breathe before Paxton appeared at my side, holding out a bottle of water and a handkerchief. “Here,” he offered with a gentle smile, dabbing my forehead despite my attempts to wave him off. “I’m fine, really—” I started, but he just chuckled and continued.I caught Dimitri’s gaze from across the clearing, his jaw tense, eyes hardening as he watched Paxton. I quickly looked away, pretending not to notice. Around us, students scattered, taking in the scenery. My heart sank as I spotted Jessy and Mia strolling far off with their teams. I missed them already; nothing ever felt right without them by my side. But it wasn’t really their fault. The lecturer

XOXO Hailey's POV The day finally arrived, and I could barely contain my excitement as I rushed home with my friends. We plopped onto my bed, the air thick with anticipation. “Did you hear the principal’s announcement?” Jessy exclaimed, her eyes sparkling. “Paxton is sooo handsome, and you might be in the same room!”I rolled my eyes, trying to mask the flutter in my stomach. “That’s only if Dimitri and Nikki agree to it,” I shot back, reminding myself to stay grounded. They both nodded, their expressions serious yet eager.“C’mon, let’s pack! We’re going to Los Angeles tomorrow!” Mia’s enthusiasm was infectious, and despite my nerves, a smile broke through. I was excited, but a gnawing worry tugged at me. What if everything didn’t go as planned?***D-Day dawned bright and clear. Hailey's POV The next day, I arrived at school with my heart racing. As I walked in with my friends, the buzz of excitement filled the air. Students darted around, exchanging whispers and laughter, their faces alight with anticipation. “Who’s your teammate? Who’s your teammate?” they called out, the question echoing in the hallways. Mia, always perceptive, turned to me, her brow furrowed. “Did something happen? Why are they running helter-skelter?”I shrugged, trying to mask my own growing anxiety. The atmosphere was electric, and I could feel the thrill mixed with nerves. Just then, a student rushed past us, nearly colliding with Mia. She grabbed the girl’s hand.“Sorry, but what’s the uproar for? Did you guys win a lottery to the states?” Mia asked, a teasing lilt in her voice. The girl merely blushed and dashed off, leaving us even more curious.“You haven’t heard?” she finally said, her eyes wide with excitement. “We’re going on a two-day camp as part of the internship! Each te
Hailey's POVI couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Dimitri had thrown a flower in the air, caught it with ease, then dropped down on one knee with a smile that tried to be charming but only made my stomach churn. My face flushed hot as I saw the other boys cheering him on. What was he doing?I scanned the area, panic bubbling up inside me. "Are you out of your mind?" I hissed at him. "What the heck do you think you're doing?""Hailey, please," he said, eyes glistening with what I guessed was supposed to be sincerity. "I’m sorry for everything. Please… give me another chance. I’ll treat you right this time, I swear."My eyes widened, and the humiliation burned even hotter. He was acting like we’d been some fairytale couple instead of a mismatched disaster. "Dimitri, we’re over," I said firmly, but before I could step away, he grabbed me, pulling me in for a desperate hug, pressing his lips to my neck. "Please," he whispered, his voice cracking, "please."The crowd erupted into chants,
**Hailey's POV:**Paxton took me to the shopping mall after the incident. We picked out all sorts of clothes—dresses, tops, even some more casual things like sneakers. He insisted we stock up on provisions too: cereals, milk, and even Golden Morn, which he said reminded him of his childhood. It felt... surreal. Like, this wasn’t just another day. It felt special. When he dropped me off in front of my house, I barely had time to process everything before Jessy came rushing toward me. "Oh my goodness! Look at how stunning you look in your new dress!" Jessy exclaimed, practically bouncing on her feet as her eyes roved over me, taking in every detail. I could feel her excitement radiating, and it was contagious. A small smile tugged at my lips as I smoothed my hands over the fabric of the dress."All thanks to Nikki because we now have clothes and provisions for ourselves!" Mia chimed in, appearing beside Jessy with a playful glint in her eyes, her laughter echoing through the hallway.
**Hailey’s POV**After freshening up, Paxton and I strolled to the other side of the park. The sun was setting, casting a golden hue over the adventure park as we made our way to the swings. Paxton, of course, insisted on paying for everything—tickets, drinks, and all the fun activities we’d done so far. The swing ride had been exhilarating. With the wind whipping through my hair, I actually felt... carefree for the first time in days. We even tried horse riding, laughing and teasing each other as our horses trotted side by side. For a while, it felt like nothing else mattered. But the day wasn’t over. Paxton led me to a cozy restaurant nearby. The smell of spices and freshly cooked food made my stomach growl as we took our seats. We ordered chicken stock pepper soup and plates filled with steaming beef. I couldn’t wait to dig in.As I started eating, though, I noticed Paxton suddenly stop mid-bite. He wasn’t eating, just watching me with this strange look in his eyes. His fork hovere
Hailey's POVAs the pool's lights shimmered across the water, Paxton's grin sent shivers down my spine. "It's not boring while you're here, babygirl," he whispered, his voice low and teasing. His hand moved with deliberate slowness, fingers grazing the fabric of my swimsuit, pressing against my pussy. I bit my lip, trying not to let out any sounds, but it was hard to resist the warmth of his touch.I stole a glance at him, my heart racing. He was still only in his swim trunks, and I couldn’t help but notice the growing bulge pressing against the thin fabric. The sight of him turned on, that bulge so clear, sent a jolt of excitement through me. I couldn't help myself—I reached down, my hand wrapping around his cock, hard as a rock beneath my grip. His sharp intake of breath only fueled my desire. The people in the pool started to leave, one by one. I glanced around, confusion filling me as the once-crowded area slowly emptied. "What the hell is going on?" I asked, still stroking his co
**Hailey’s POV**The day I’d been dreading and anticipating had finally arrived. It was the first day of my internship practice—basketball team—and of course, the date with Paxton. A date I wasn't even sure I wanted, yet here I was, wrapped in nervous energy. What was I thinking? Going on a date with him after everything that happened? But… I couldn’t help the fluttering excitement mixed with fear in my chest.Grinning as my phone buzzed loudly beside my pillow, I reached for it, my heart already hammering in my chest. Paxton's name flashed across the screen, and I couldn’t help but swallow a lump of anxiety before answering."Hi," I said, trying to keep my voice steady and soft, careful not to wake Mia or Jessy, who were still peacefully asleep."Meet me outside your gate. I’ll be there in a few minutes, babe. Hop in when you’re ready," Paxton's voice was deep, confident—too confident.I nodded, already stepping into the dress I’d laid out the night before. I glanced at myself in the
