The same old dream. Rains of ash poured down from the sky to a desolate world. Tears of blood from the eyes of familiar faces. Fear shot through my veins. The same old, same old. But, then it all dissolved and I was underwater. The mermaid was back again. This time I had an idea of who she was.
When she sang to me, I butted in, "Amoria, what do you want?"Her singing ceased and she observed me. She was beautiful. I couldn't deny that. But fear emitted from her. Not what I had wanted for Alex. They were so much apart. Of all the mermaids in the ocean, he had to mate with the craziest. A potential psycho and a crazy mermaid. That sounded like a disaster waiting to happen."So, he told you about me." Her voice was like a melody. So sweet like an amazing hum. Different from the destruction that radiated from her. If this was another situation and she was nicer, men would fall in love with her just by hearing her speak. "How typical of him. Head SorcererI had a bad feeling about this. It was not the snow or the earthquake. I knew Marvelon was powerful, but something was not right. Once he mated that princess, an uneasy sensation chilled my blood. I didn't even know she was a mermaid much less a princess when she came here. It was as if all her powers were buried. Not even after Prince Mitchalus announced who she was had I sensed anything. Her powers were still hidden. Yet, Jayel could tell she was coming from a mile away. He was the one who pointed out that she would visit Marvelon. He was the one who told me when she arrived.I couldn't help but wonder if… No, I shook my head. Princess Aqua would have told me. I was the one who had to call her, not the other way around. Which was odd. Princess Aqua called every time Marvelon did anything. The first time we sensed he had another mate, she was ecstatic. She called me every day to find out who it was. I couldn't find any connections to the sensation because it was
I stepped into my kitchen to a counter filled with mail and gifts. For some reason, merfolks from all over sensed my mating and sent me congratulatory letters and presents. They didn't send it to my home but sent it to shelters all over the world. The shelters then send the gifts to the local shelters here and Mia and Martin would collect them."Are they still coming?" I whined."Yep," the princess popped her P.I was starting to get the idea to just throw them out or give them to other people. Most of these things I had already. Some people sent kitchen utensils and appliances, vouchers for all sorts of stuff, and pieces of furniture, lamps, and other crap.It would be nice to give half of this stuff to the merfolks that didn't have the money to afford it. The ones that just arrived on land and didn't know what money was. They would enjoy these things more than me.The merfolks community was already occupied with merfolks from
"You are the King of Kings," Jayel recited. "Your power is far more advanced than the Sea Witch Queen, so you should be able to sense every aquatic creature and tell who they are before you see their faces."I would not mind that at all. It would be great to know if a merfolk was bad or good before they approach me. That way, I could be mentally prepared for them. I would know whether to follow them up or just let them be."You use the elements around you to fuel your power," Jayel added. "The air, water, and land. You can use those components to heighten your senses. Sorcerers use water and the essence of it. We can manipulate it and turn it into magic. Once the air is cold and moist, we can utilize that moisture and turn it into magic. Therefore, we are most powerful on land on cool and rainy days, dusk, and dawn. You don't have to be able to view the moisture but we will be able to sense it."Alex nodded his head on the opposing couch. The princes
Alex dragged me with him downstairs. Everyone was getting ready to jump in the pool. I relaxed in the kitchen while everyone transformed. Well, everyone except Fel. The sight was a beauty from afar. Their glows blended together when my eyes were closed. I caught a gist of what Alex was talking about. The mixed colors may not be rainbow-colored like mine, but it was close enough. When the Princess transformed, she now acquired two colors instead of one. Her grey aligned with the same blue as Mitch. Not only that, with Mitch's blue, another color also lurked behind it. I sensed it but the thing refused to reveal itself. It was as if it protected the current blue color. Mia and Martin sported the same green. They never disclosed what pod they were from and I never asked. Everyone was aware of it, though. Their tails were different from everyone else. An additional dorsal fin fitted above their caudal fin on their tails. The others were without this feature. The di
I grabbed one of the pizza slices Alex collected from the guard. We were somewhat jealous. He had the ability to venture outside the pool as far as to the phone in the kitchen to make the order for pizza. That was not all, he didn't even have to go through a second transformation to accomplish all that. He did it while in his merman state. A talent he attained because unlike the rest of us, he didn't have a tail.Life was unfair. Prince Mitchalus analyzed it as that Alex still had his human genes, so he was unable to formulate a tail. That was not a bad thing. We did a few experiments to test out how good Alex was in this current form. He was excellent in everything except speed. We were faster than him in swimming. He could compensate by using his powers to heighten what his tail could have achieved.Still, Mia and Martin were the fastest of all of us. They originated from one of the pods in the Indian Ocean. Those were the fastest merfolks in the sea. No othe
I woke this morning with an unsettling sensation in the pit of my stomach. Shelly should have been back already. She never stayed away from me this long. Shelly was responsible. If something happened to cause her to visit to run overtime, she would have called. Instead, she did not. It was driving me crazy. Not only that but Alex got up from the crack of dawn and would not stop staring at the sea. It was starting to get me worried. I did not like this at all."Are you going to stand there all day, or are you coming with us?" I groaned, walking out to the balcony. "Aqualia is ready and prancing all over the place. We should get going."Alex didn't turn around but continued to stare at the sea.I followed his gaze. "I sense it too. Something is not right out there. Shelly is not back yet either. I'm not sure what to do at this point, but we should go to Mitch's place. As much as I hate to admit it, he might be of use to us. He has been playi
Land folks! Whenever anyone talked about land folks, they were often described as complex creatures that tackled little tasks or difficulties each day. Some of these people called it chores. Others described their actions as work. The leisure things were hobbies. There were so many names and too many fascinating things. Those activities were not as dangerous as fighting sharks. Nonetheless, it was just as terrifying. The greatest part was with each activity, it was just as rewarding in the end. For example, cooking. Land folks would gather all the ingredients from powders to leaves. Eventually, these ingredients were used to turn into mouth-watering feasts that exploded with flavors in my mouth.I groaned just thinking about it. The best thing of all was when we got to that point where we could cook, we became something greater. An inventor. A creator. Now, here I was, standing in Prince Mitchalus's kitchen about to become something greater.A smile
"When you feel her presence call to her. At that moment, you'll see where she is. You will then be able to communicate with her," Aqualia's voice faded away as I tugged on the shimmering silver line in my mind.Once my eyes opened, I spotted Shelly. An indecisive feeling took over. A happy sensation mixed with anger. "Shelly, what the fuck?"Her eyes widened and took me in.That didn't stop me, I continued anyways, "You've got me all stressed out! Here I am all concerned, and you didn't even think to call to let me know you're okay. What kind of guardian does such an irresponsible thing?"I stood there awaiting the witty response she would often utter but to my dismay, it never came. That was when I started observing my environment.Crystal-like rocks bordered us in a small area. Casting my eyes down, the chalk white sand of the sea floor stared back up at me. Spears tightly bound together with what resembled seaweed closed off
Marvelon's story has come to an end. I had so much fun with this story. It has blossomed so much since it started. The first draft was way less complicated than this final piece. The original version was a love story about Aqualia and Marvelon. However, as I wrote, the panster in me came alive. New characters joined the story and the old characters played new parts. Their lives were molded differently. Gosh, most of them probably hate me for all the tribulations I have put them through.Oh, I bet Marvelon does. Aqualia might be. A little. Oh, my gosh, since we are on the subject, I can only imagine what is going through Aquant and Torus's heads. 'All my possessions for the head of the author'. Yep, or maybe they would threaten to find me. Oh, yeah, that's it.Still, they are my babies. Torus is my favorite character in the entire story, and I thoroughly enjoyed the scene where he and Guardian Shelliot sparred in the cave at the Antarctican Manor—yes, I am the psycho who enjoyed reading
"Sorry I'm late, guys," Fel swam into the cave. "Prince Torus has become such a big baby these days."I never thought I would hear those words. Baby and Torus in the same sentence. Though he and Sophia mated, he acted aloof to the entire situation. If it had not been for Sophia and Mitch, I wouldn't have thought the guy would be mated. He was just that kind of asshole. Sophia didn't seem to mind being mated to him or Mitch. I mean, come on, she chased after an ass like me for years. I just wished she would have gotten a better ending rather than Mitch and Torus. After all, she had been through, she deserved so much more.Mitch sighed. "Where is he now?""He's in my chambers, sleeping," Fel answered."What's wrong with him?" I probed, looking for answers.Aqualia's shoulders bounced."He's rejecting his coupling urges," Fel responded. "The more he does it, the more he's losing control. And, a merger losing control is n
My heartbeat pounded in my ears. When the executive stated that the King needed my presence in the King and Queen's quarters, I panicked. Mitchalus has time and time again pointed out he had no interest in sleeping in the same quarters. This was the main reason we avoided this area. It was not meant for us. Which would explain my nervousness.Mitchalus was not the type of person to change his mind out of the blue. He would fight it until I submitted. However, before he did no such thing. Instead, he helped my ruined Kingdom to go under construction. It had to mean he accepted where we were and decided to let me go. For some odd reason, I was heartbroken. It was a much more wrenching feeling than anything else.Mitchalus gave up. It should have made me happy. All I ever wanted was to be rid of this Kingdom and ruled in mine. Now, Mitchalus was giving me the chance to do so and it was like my world was ending.Stupid girly feelings!I had ho
"Are you sure you want to do this, Mom?" I asked as she got ready to leave. It was not that I didn't want her to go. That was the plan, after all. But my visit home was different. There was a tension there that was odd. My house was always a cheery place. It made me feel comfortable and safe. However, when I went home, that calm was gone. It was as if everyone was holding on with a thin line.I couldn't tell if it was me. My relationship with Fel was not too stellar. She was different. No longer was she shy or sweet. She only stuck around because she needed my help to free Craig, and she was not afraid to let me know. Around everyone else, it would appear that she was the perfect mate. Behind the scenes, she was a monster. Too headstrong and determined to do things her way.She couldn't wait to get away from me. The more she rebelled, the more I craved her. I needed help, it was clear with my interest in women. Still, I couldn't help myself. Fel subm
My heart rate went off the charts. A chill ran down my spine. The anger in Fel's eyes had me paralyzed in the spot. This was the first time I have ever seen her and she did not look innocent and shy. The determination and anger were aimed at me. It didn't matter, though. All I wanted was to kiss her. For some strange reason, she was way hotter than before. It could be the aquamarine dress. It was too provocative to be considered such. The majority of her breasts were spilled out from the deep V neck design. The two slits on each of her thighs were enough to keep my eyes on her movements. If that was not enough, the material was thin to invite every heterosexual male. Yet, it was thick enough to hold everything from the viewer. Her hair was down. The crown was a perfect addition to the colors in her hair. Her hair had gotten longer. It swayed from her hip with the wind."Fel," I breathed. She hissed. "How dare you! How dare you!"
"We'll go to see her now," I ordered Amoria.Time waited on no man. I didn't have time to waste. The sooner we found the Seer, the better things were."Aren't you supposed to be resting?" Amoria observed me. "Your mother just died."If I had not been smart and severed my connection to that mermaid, I would have to be resting now. The excruciating pain would have been enough to keep me bedrisen for at least a few days.I pushed from my throne and swam up beside her. "She was no mother of mine. She doesn't deserve that title. I refused to be held back by such a mermaid.""Hmmm." Amoria opened a portal before us. "You really have changed. It's kind of scary. Too bad, I know how to handle crazy bitches."A corner of my mouth twitched at the comment. "Look who's talking? You're the craziest of us all.""Damn right about that."Neither of us moved as the hole got bigger. I didn't trust Amoria one
The three guards never moved or said anything. One of them was keeping a secret, yet none of them wanted to talk. I shifted my tail, getting more comfortable. If they thought they would get away with using their powers against Craigleon, they had the next thing coming."Craigleon was the best person in this Kingdom," I admitted. "I'm sure all three of you can agree. He must have helped each of you in one way or another. He helped me in more ways than one. He taught me things my parents were too busy to teach. He was patient and kind. The kind of person that you couldn't help loving."One encounter with my brother changed many lives. He was a beautiful man, inside and out. Mother's masterpiece. It was no secret she loved him more. If he had been born a girl, she would have tossed me aside from the very beginning. Maybe I wouldn't have been born."When I was younger and scared Craigleon was the one who snuck in my chambers and sang to me until I fell a
Everyone bowed at my arrival to the Bedding Cave. This place was essential to our Kingdom. The cave rested beside The Bedding. Once the star has been passed on from one Queen to the next, the previous Queen would be taken to this cave. Here she could relax and pass away in peace. The Bedding is next to it, which helped to rest her shell of a body there once she passed on to the ancestral world.Father was the only one in the Mother Queen chamber. The minute he noticed me, he moved from the chair beside Mother's bed."Fesel, are you okay?" he asked. Though his lips moved, his facial expression held no ounce of concern. If I had not known the other side of my father, his behavior would have fooled me like it did everyone else. However, I knew what he was like as a Father. And, this was not it. The spark he once had was gone. I needed to know what he did that caused him to look this dead. I needed to know the truth. What was going on? This was why I nee
My eyes fluttered open. It took me a while to recall my current situation. I was a Queen, my mother was on the brink of death, and here I was. My heartbeat pounded in my temples. I swung my tail from the bed and sat up."Your Majesty, you are awake," the dark sorcerer rushed to me. "You gave me quite the scare."Oh right. I sought out the dark sorcerer to get rid of all connections to everyone close to me. Mother was on the brink of death and I didn't want to feel that useless heartache. Therefore, I had it all taken away. I shouldn't have to suffer if any of them die. None of them took my pain when I suffered. None of them."I thought you might have died for sure," the dark sorcerer went on. "I warned you about that spell. It is a miracle you are still alive. Breaking a connection with one person is as much stress on your body, much less three people all at once."The pain was excruciating enough to cause me to lose consciousness. I
