No one told me the communication box called a cell phone could be so entertaining. There were challenging things called games one could play. Some were harder than others. The creation even could allow one to watch movies or clips. Humans were so intelligent, they made the cellphone so it could also talk. For a small thing, the communication box was marvelous.

It sucked that I could not return to the ocean with one of them. Maybe I could and would be able to keep it as a treasure. Even if he was not working. It would just become a trophy to remind me of my time on land. Mother kept most of her land treasures among her other possessions.

No doubt, once I return home, merfolks would be gathering to hear my stories as much as they did to my mothers. One of these things would surely sell my story. Others would become envious. I used to daydream about land. It was far better than my fantasies. Sometimes far worse.

The princess was gone. What part of don’t move didn’t she understand? How was I even going to explain losing the mermaid to Shelly? She was going to have a fit. Mom was going to have my ass.I surveyed the parking lot.The mermaid couldn’t have gone far. She had no idea where she was. Plus, she was a small thing. Even if she was on foot, it had to be nearby. Unless the mermaid was kidnapped. A naïve, pretty girl like her would be the perfect candidate for human trafficking. All those thirsty, disgusting assholes, lining up to get a taste of what she had to offer. She would not be able to manage them. No doubt, she was still a virgin.Sweat broke out on my forehead at the awful thought. Mom was going to kill me. This was thanks to that bitch. Why did I allow it to get this far? I should have walked out of that damn lecture room. But, I had to fuck her. The same bitch who made my life a living hell.Gosh

The pillow moved and I pulled it closer. It was so comfortable. My fingers were hitched on something. Something like… Wait, it didn’t matter. I was asleep. It was nice to sleep, so relaxing. The pillow moved again. Could it do that? It became bright. Who the hell was in my room? Why did they open the blinds? I was going to kill Alex or Sophie. My eyelids flashed open. Bad idea. It was too bright. The sun. I moved. Water. I was… Fuck! What happened last night replayed in my head. My eyes opened again. The mermaid! There she was, looking at me. I opened my mouth and ingested too much water. I swam to the surface, gasping once there. The mermaid came up moments later with my pillow. She handed it to me. Someone blocked the sun. No, three people did. I looked up in the faces of my friends and my guardian.“Sleep well?” Shelly asked. It sounded more like a tease with a hint of irritation.I was not even s

Sophie, Alex, and the mermaid were off watching ‘The Notebook'. As it turned out the mermaid loved movies. Something she, Mom, and Shelly had in common. I would guess by this point it was a mermaid thing. I couldn’t see why. Movies were a spin on reality. Mermaids loved anything that created a fantasy.I stretched out on the pool chair. The sun bathed my skin.Sophie loved the weird romantic movies. Sometimes the ones with the drama. Alex preferred X-rated movies, the ones that weren’t allowed on regular T.V stations. On lesser days, he would be drawn to action movies. I was not sure what Alex got from watching two or more people getting it on on a screen. The worst part was he would go as far as to watch it live.As decent as Alex was, he had a sick side. One that often came out to play. The part of him Father’s would chain their daughters in the house so they wouldn’t go near him. To make matters funnier, Sophie

The waters was too quiet. The closer I swam towards the Kingdom, the more anxiety consumed me. On any normal day, there would be trafficking of fishes and maybe a few sharks here and there. Right now there were no fishes, big or small, sharks or even stingrays. Nothing. My mind raced with dark thoughts. The threat had reached our Kingdom. Everyone was killed. Instead of thinking about the King and the Queen, the first person who came to mind was Aquant. After which my sister, Octoria followed down the line of people I should be concerned for. He would tease me about it if he found out what was in my brain at this moment. Which he wouldn’t. Not ever. It was my secret. Along with the long list of secrets, I kept pertaining to that merman. I crossed the threshold into the territory of our Kingdom. Two guards swam out of nowhere with spears. My tail froze and I came to a halt in front of the two mermen. “Guardian Shel

My first instinct was to hurry home. I had to ensure the prince and princess were protected. The threat was far more dangerous than any of us anticipated. Only one merman could guide me in the next positive step. Two guards stopped me when I neared his quarters.I glanced at the familiar faces. “Is the Head Guard in?”“He's not accepting visitors at this moment,” the brown-haired guard responded.Aquant was the darn Head Guard. He saw and listened to everyone.I narrowed my eyes at him. “Why?”Was he with some mermaid? I swallowed at the thought. It shouldn’t matter if he was coupling with other mermaids. He was a hard-working man. Every available mermaid was lining up to bed him. He deserved to enjoy himself every once in a while. It was better he released all the stress and pressure his position held in bed than went out and got himself killed. The facts still m

Guardian Shelliot had left the Northern Kingdom. I was a bit anxious about her return. She had promised to retrieve information about my Kingdom. I was sure Mother and Father were handling the threat. It still did not stop me from worrying. Not only was I a daughter, but I was also the crown princess to thousands of merfolks. It was my duty to worry about my people.Even so, there was nothing other than worrying to do. When Guardian left, the prince went out the door behind her. He was relieved Guardian Shelliot had a friend who was willing to spend their free time with me. To say I was disappointed was under describing my feelings. The prince and I were not the best of friends, but we had come to an understanding. That was what I thought. After the incident with Prince Mitchalus, it took me a while to think about the situation from another perspective. Prince Marvelon had not known about my matching. Ms. Saunders was teaching and nothing of what she lectured about reached my ears. My gaze kept straying to the woman next to me. Nothing else mattered but the way pink lips curled around the pencil in hand, or the way that bottom lip appeared red after it was sucked into her mouth. Maybe it was just me, but even her hair looked more radiant today. The enchantress managed to comb her hair up in a ponytail at the top of her head. Two small partitions of hair were curled at the front. Dark pink with lime green were the colors of her hair. Odd colors but she managed to make them look normal. Sun or rain, those colors were always vibrant. Not to mention how silky and smooth the hair was against skin. The length. Oh, the length. It was long enough to get several tight wraps around the wrist when she was on her knees.I swallowed at the memory of how she looked when she was on those knees flashed through my mind. As always, she was beautiful. Perfect. This woman w

My heartbeat thundered in my temples. My fingers curled beneath white sand. Adrenaline mixed with an electric current coursed through my veins. Pain rippled through my back. The coarseness of the cave bored even through the back of my shirt. The grains of sand beneath me danced to the movement of the beast. My breathing became labored as I dared it to go the wrong way. But, it didn’t. It never did. He always knew where I hid. The rainfall of pebbles in my lap told me my hiding spot was discovered. I swallowed as my eyes went up.It roared at my presence. Sharp sand molded teeth were exposed. A few more grains of sand spilled at the sharp cry. The sand-made beast clawed at me. I quickly summoned a sand shield. The two molded things collided.I kicked to my feet and ran. My chest burned but I couldn’t look back. I swore one of these days this man was going to fucking kill me. I skidded to a halt

  • The Hidden King   Author's Note

Marvelon's story has come to an end. I had so much fun with this story. It has blossomed so much since it started. The first draft was way less complicated than this final piece. The original version was a love story about Aqualia and Marvelon. However, as I wrote, the panster in me came alive. New characters joined the story and the old characters played new parts. Their lives were molded differently. Gosh, most of them probably hate me for all the tribulations I have put them through.Oh, I bet Marvelon does. Aqualia might be. A little. Oh, my gosh, since we are on the subject, I can only imagine what is going through Aquant and Torus's heads. 'All my possessions for the head of the author'. Yep, or maybe they would threaten to find me. Oh, yeah, that's it.Still, they are my babies. Torus is my favorite character in the entire story, and I thoroughly enjoyed the scene where he and Guardian Shelliot sparred in the cave at the Antarctican Manor—yes, I am the psycho who enjoyed reading

"Sorry I'm late, guys," Fel swam into the cave. "Prince Torus has become such a big baby these days."I never thought I would hear those words. Baby and Torus in the same sentence. Though he and Sophia mated, he acted aloof to the entire situation. If it had not been for Sophia and Mitch, I wouldn't have thought the guy would be mated. He was just that kind of asshole. Sophia didn't seem to mind being mated to him or Mitch. I mean, come on, she chased after an ass like me for years. I just wished she would have gotten a better ending rather than Mitch and Torus. After all, she had been through, she deserved so much more.Mitch sighed. "Where is he now?""He's in my chambers, sleeping," Fel answered."What's wrong with him?" I probed, looking for answers.Aqualia's shoulders bounced."He's rejecting his coupling urges," Fel responded. "The more he does it, the more he's losing control. And, a merger losing control is n

My heartbeat pounded in my ears. When the executive stated that the King needed my presence in the King and Queen's quarters, I panicked. Mitchalus has time and time again pointed out he had no interest in sleeping in the same quarters. This was the main reason we avoided this area. It was not meant for us. Which would explain my nervousness.Mitchalus was not the type of person to change his mind out of the blue. He would fight it until I submitted. However, before he did no such thing. Instead, he helped my ruined Kingdom to go under construction. It had to mean he accepted where we were and decided to let me go. For some odd reason, I was heartbroken. It was a much more wrenching feeling than anything else.Mitchalus gave up. It should have made me happy. All I ever wanted was to be rid of this Kingdom and ruled in mine. Now, Mitchalus was giving me the chance to do so and it was like my world was ending.Stupid girly feelings!I had ho

"Are you sure you want to do this, Mom?" I asked as she got ready to leave. It was not that I didn't want her to go. That was the plan, after all. But my visit home was different. There was a tension there that was odd. My house was always a cheery place. It made me feel comfortable and safe. However, when I went home, that calm was gone. It was as if everyone was holding on with a thin line.I couldn't tell if it was me. My relationship with Fel was not too stellar. She was different. No longer was she shy or sweet. She only stuck around because she needed my help to free Craig, and she was not afraid to let me know. Around everyone else, it would appear that she was the perfect mate. Behind the scenes, she was a monster. Too headstrong and determined to do things her way.She couldn't wait to get away from me. The more she rebelled, the more I craved her. I needed help, it was clear with my interest in women. Still, I couldn't help myself. Fel subm

My heart rate went off the charts. A chill ran down my spine. The anger in Fel's eyes had me paralyzed in the spot. This was the first time I have ever seen her and she did not look innocent and shy. The determination and anger were aimed at me. It didn't matter, though. All I wanted was to kiss her. For some strange reason, she was way hotter than before. It could be the aquamarine dress. It was too provocative to be considered such. The majority of her breasts were spilled out from the deep V neck design. The two slits on each of her thighs were enough to keep my eyes on her movements. If that was not enough, the material was thin to invite every heterosexual male. Yet, it was thick enough to hold everything from the viewer. Her hair was down. The crown was a perfect addition to the colors in her hair. Her hair had gotten longer. It swayed from her hip with the wind."Fel," I breathed. She hissed. "How dare you! How dare you!"

"We'll go to see her now," I ordered Amoria.Time waited on no man. I didn't have time to waste. The sooner we found the Seer, the better things were."Aren't you supposed to be resting?" Amoria observed me. "Your mother just died."If I had not been smart and severed my connection to that mermaid, I would have to be resting now. The excruciating pain would have been enough to keep me bedrisen for at least a few days.I pushed from my throne and swam up beside her. "She was no mother of mine. She doesn't deserve that title. I refused to be held back by such a mermaid.""Hmmm." Amoria opened a portal before us. "You really have changed. It's kind of scary. Too bad, I know how to handle crazy bitches."A corner of my mouth twitched at the comment. "Look who's talking? You're the craziest of us all.""Damn right about that."Neither of us moved as the hole got bigger. I didn't trust Amoria one

The three guards never moved or said anything. One of them was keeping a secret, yet none of them wanted to talk. I shifted my tail, getting more comfortable. If they thought they would get away with using their powers against Craigleon, they had the next thing coming."Craigleon was the best person in this Kingdom," I admitted. "I'm sure all three of you can agree. He must have helped each of you in one way or another. He helped me in more ways than one. He taught me things my parents were too busy to teach. He was patient and kind. The kind of person that you couldn't help loving."One encounter with my brother changed many lives. He was a beautiful man, inside and out. Mother's masterpiece. It was no secret she loved him more. If he had been born a girl, she would have tossed me aside from the very beginning. Maybe I wouldn't have been born."When I was younger and scared Craigleon was the one who snuck in my chambers and sang to me until I fell a

Everyone bowed at my arrival to the Bedding Cave. This place was essential to our Kingdom. The cave rested beside The Bedding. Once the star has been passed on from one Queen to the next, the previous Queen would be taken to this cave. Here she could relax and pass away in peace. The Bedding is next to it, which helped to rest her shell of a body there once she passed on to the ancestral world.Father was the only one in the Mother Queen chamber. The minute he noticed me, he moved from the chair beside Mother's bed."Fesel, are you okay?" he asked. Though his lips moved, his facial expression held no ounce of concern. If I had not known the other side of my father, his behavior would have fooled me like it did everyone else. However, I knew what he was like as a Father. And, this was not it. The spark he once had was gone. I needed to know what he did that caused him to look this dead. I needed to know the truth. What was going on? This was why I nee

My eyes fluttered open. It took me a while to recall my current situation. I was a Queen, my mother was on the brink of death, and here I was. My heartbeat pounded in my temples. I swung my tail from the bed and sat up."Your Majesty, you are awake," the dark sorcerer rushed to me. "You gave me quite the scare."Oh right. I sought out the dark sorcerer to get rid of all connections to everyone close to me. Mother was on the brink of death and I didn't want to feel that useless heartache. Therefore, I had it all taken away. I shouldn't have to suffer if any of them die. None of them took my pain when I suffered. None of them."I thought you might have died for sure," the dark sorcerer went on. "I warned you about that spell. It is a miracle you are still alive. Breaking a connection with one person is as much stress on your body, much less three people all at once."The pain was excruciating enough to cause me to lose consciousness. I
