Chapter 4 The Nurse.

Dad sat in his wheelchair in his room waiting for me, it's been a long day, and I'm honestly tired and could use a drink.

Dad woke up a couple of weeks ago, and the only way I was able to bring him home was if I got him a live-in nurse.

He can't move his legs or another part of his body except for his hands, and gladly he doesn't need a tube to eat, but that doesn't mean he can use his hands to eat. His movement is limited to pushing the buttons on his wheelchair.

I sat beside him bowing first in respect after all he's my boss first and father's second, so respect is due.

He looked at me and raised his hand as far as he could, trying to reach my face holding his hand up to my cheek, and smiled.

Since my mother Luna Aries died, dad has been cold. Maybe it's because he had to kill her, or it's because I look and smell like her.

Either way, I learned never to ask.

“Who would you like for a nurse, sir.”? I laid out the photos in front of him,

“Miss Harvey.” He looked at me,

“She's not qualified enough.” I then pointed at the brown-haired woman with big boobs who has all the qualifications needed, and maybe I could tap it once in a while,

“Is that why or is it because she told you off,” he said,

“It's because she's…”

“Reminds you of your mother, the mouthpiece, and the eyes.” I looked away, yes she reminded me of the mother, but that's not why I don't want to hire her, the little thing dared to talk back and slam my door she deserves to be…”

“I want Reyda Harvey, it would be nice to have a woman around here that's here to get her job done and not sleep with my cold-hearted son.” he rolled away.

“Are you going to call her or do I have to,” I shouted,

“You do it if you would rather not get doctor smith .” his voice trailed off.

I took my phone from my pocket and sent a text message to Dr. Smith asking if he could tell Reyda she got the job, he replied with an ok and I made my way to my office.

It didn't take long for my phone to ring and when I looked at the phone and saw Dr. Smith I smiled, but that smile was soon replaced with a smirk when he told me she was unreachable at first and then said she'd only take the job if I told her I got it.

I grabbed my car keys and mind linked my Beta Kane and gamma Jerrod, we entered my black SUV and headed to the apartment address Dr. Smith sent me.

It didn't take us long to get there and when we did no one was at home, where would a twenty two-year-old go at 10:00 pm on a Monday night?

“Mr. Knight, we found her running along blue moon avenue.” Jared mind linked me,

Blue Moon avenue isn't far from where she lives, we waited in the car until we saw her and when we did, he got out and called out to her.

Within a split second, his hand touched her shoulder and next thing you know he's lying flat on his back with his hands up.

I looked on in amusement, where the hell did she learn to fight and why those she knows how to fight should be the question.

I got out of the car and ran towards her delivering throwing the first blow, I missed as she dodged it by moving her head to the right side.

She then threw a punch but missed as I pulled back, I stopped her other punch midair with my the palm of my hand as the blow was heading for my face.

“Not the face, never the face, sweetheart.”

“What the hell is wrong with you people?” she pulled the headphones from her ears

“Where did you learn to fight?”

“ It's Good night, and it's none of your business.” she turned to open her apartment door and stood on the other side of it,

“Would you mind taking the job?” I rolled my eyes.

SLAM! The door closed in my face.

KNOCK!

KNOCK!

She opened,

“Yes.”

I wanted to strangle her, but I calmed myself even if my wolf was laughing his tail off at the back of my head.

“Congratulations Miss Harvey, you got the job. I'll see you bright and early Wednesday morning. I hope that allows you enough time to organize yourself.” I smiled,

“Thank you, I'll see you then.” SLAM!

We got back into the car and my mind was working like a clock, I turned to make,

“I want a b…”

“Background check already on it, unless she took fighting lessons, not defense classes. Something is up with her, and I'll let you know what comes up.” Kane said.

“Any movement from Belarus, I haven't heard or seen him since we took father home.”

“No, nothing, he's been keeping a low profile, but the freak can't stay put forever, so he'll be out soon to play.

It's been a long day father is finally asleep, and I'm honestly happy about us hiring someone at least when I'm not with him, I could use that time to myself, don't get me wrong I care for my father a lot actually despite everything he put me through as a boy I never one day thought about turning my back on him.

The mansion went dark, father mid-linked me just as I got off the bed, I asked him to have Roger his guard lock the door and stay inside with him,

I stood up and made my way over to the door when I heard a knock and felt something touch my toes, a brown envelope and I knew who it was.

My ghost; I love it when he puts me on the edge, when he makes my blood rush.

The lights came back on, and I walked over to my desk looking at the name Reyda Harvey in black written on the envelope in front of me and I let out a loud sigh, my heart is thundering in my chest, please don’t tell me I hired a psycho to take care of my dad.

I froze with what I saw next.

Why is Reyda’s name on a contract that was delivered to Belarus five years ago.

Thoughts start running through my head I want to hope for the worst but a part of me and wants to hioe for the best, but nothing with that mans name in it ends up being good.

A part of me wants to call her up and ask her what relation they have, did he send her to spy on us by tricking Dr. Smith to think she was helpless?

After all the woman just took down my gamma, and also gave me a good fight even though it was short. But still she fought like she was trained to kill.

And that’s not normal, I turn to the next page and my jaw drops,my hand stiffens and my heart almost stopped.

What the hell did I just get myself into?
