Lisa's POV.

From my seat in the passenger side of Leo's car, I stared out at the blurred lights of the city, still trying to process everything that had just transpired between Andre and me. The chill in the air bit through my coat, but the real icy grip was in my chest, tightening with each passing moment.

“Do you think I handled that well?” I asked, surprised by the tremor in my voice. I was proud of myself, yes, but doubts began to creep in like shadows sneaking in through the cracks of an old door.

Leo looked over at me, his expression unwavering. “You did better than well. You stood up for yourself, and that’s a big step,” he said, a warm smile spreading across his face. His belief in me felt like armor against the emotional aftermath of speaking to Andre.

I let out a shaky breath, trying to convince myself that I believed his words. "Part of me feels relieved, but another part just… hurts," I confessed, looking back at the notebook sitting in the center console a reminder of my

The golden light of the afternoon sun filtered through the stained glass windows, casting colorful patterns upon the walls, but the beauty of the moment was overshadowed by a growing dread.Lady Seraphina stood at the head of the long, oak table, her silver hair cascading over her shoulders like an ethereal waterfall. The council members, a mix of nobles and seasoned warriors, leaned forward, their faces drawn and anxious. Seraphina’s emerald eyes were fierce, reflecting her unwavering resolve.“Enough!” she declared, her voice resonating through the chamber like a bell calling the faithful to prayer. “We cannot allow fear to paralyze us any longer! The shadows grow stronger, and with each passing day, they threaten to consume our lands.”Lord Alaric, known for his skepticism, leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms defiantly. “And what do you propose we do, Lady Sera

The dreams that had haunted her the night before seemed to whisper strategies rather than fears. She rose, feeling invigorated despite the uncertainty looming ahead. The air was crisp and full of potential as she slipped into her armor, the weight comforting against her skin. Each piece symbolized the courage of those who would stand with her of Faelan, Althea, and the townsfolk who depended on their success. After a quick breakfast that consisted of thick porridge and honeyed bread, Seraphina joined her companions in the square where the townspeople had gathered to see them off. The mood was a mixture of solemnity and courage, as faces that once seemed weary now reflected a flickering determination. Children waved banners embroidered with protective runes, and the elderly offered blessings, their voices lac

Seraphina’s POVThe air was thick with the scent of damp earth and the faintest hint of jasmine as Seraphina led her companions deeper into the heart of the forest, where the shadows had once roamed. The sunlight filtered through the treetops, creating a mosaic of light and shadow on the ground. With every step, the weight of their recent victory lingered in the atmosphere, but the nagging feeling of uncertainty haunted her thoughts.“Keep your senses sharp,” Faelan cautioned, his voice low and deliberate as they traversed a narrow path flanked by ancient trees that seemed to whisper secrets. Each rustle of leaves felt amplified, the forest alive with echoes of the past. “The darkness we faced may have receded, but it won’t be long before it seeks to regain its hold.”Althea walked beside Seraphina, her brow furrowed in thought. “We need to find the source. This darkness it’s not just a force of nature; it has a purpose. There must be a root we can sever to truly rid Eldoria of its gr

I couldn’t shake the memory of the gnarled tree its pulsing dark energy clung to my mind like a shadow, a lingering reminder of the strife we had just faced. Victory felt distant, almost ephemeral, and the darkness seemed to trail behind us, whispering malicious secrets into the corners of my thoughts.“Faelan,” Althea asked, furrowing her brow as we walked along the mossy path, “do you think the whispers intend to harm us, or are they trying to communicate?”“Whispers carry both truth and deceit, Althea,” Faelan replied, his calm demeanor a stark contrast to the growing tension I could feel. “We must tread carefully. Knowledge, like a double-edged sword, can be both a blessing and a curse.”I took a deep breath, attempting to push those unsettling memories aside. “We need to focus on understanding the root of this darkn

Seraphina’s POVWith the fading sunlight casting long shadows across the forest floor, Althea, Faelan, and I pressed deeper into the heart of the woods. Our spirits were buoyed by the earlier victory, but the whispered echoes of the dark figure lingered in my mind, a constant reminder that we were far from safe.As we trudged through the underbrush, the sounds of the forest enveloped us chirping crickets and rustling leaves competing with the steady thrum of our hearts. After some time, we stumbled upon a path spiraling upward, leading us toward a series of rugged cliffs looming ahead.“Do you feel that?” Althea suddenly asked, halting in her tracks. An unsettling energy hung in the air, thick with ancient magic that hummed beneath our feet.“It feels different here, like we’re being watched,” Faelan replied cautiously, scanning our surroundings. I could see the grip on his staff tighten. “Stay alert. This could either be a place of refuge or a trap.”As we hiked up the winding trail,

It felt as if the world was awakening to our newfound understanding, rejoicing alongside us.“None of us ever knew the struggles we were about to confront,” Althea said, her voice steady, yet filled with awe. “But having faced the truth about ourselves, I feel… stronger.”Faelan nodded, a determined look on his face. “We will need

Althea's POVAs I stood with the others far away from the Demonic Wolf, I couldn't help but think about how Lisa had saved me. To be honest, I didn't even expect her to save me on account of us quarrelling earlier. When I decided to hold back the Demonic Wolf and give everyone a chance to escape, I hadn't even expected anyone of them to come back for me. But somehow Lisa has acquired her ability, using it to come back for me. I would have died if not for her coming at the right moment to save me from the Demonic Wolf.My eyes lingered in the direction everyone was looking, hoping that Lisa would at least walk out of this. She had saved me from the Demonic Wolf, doing something very stupid later. And that thing was going off by herself to fight off the Demonic Wolf when she had not yet learnt how to control her ability. No one in the team could even take down the Demonic Wolf no matter what but she had gone off, hoping to finish off the Demonic Wolf. I didn't know if this was stupidity

Lisa's POVI've never been this confident in my entire life. It was like my courage had been multiplied several times after getting my shadow ability. It boosted my confidence and eliminated any fear and doubt that would have existed in my mind. My courage was unwavering just like a sturdy tree which could not be brought down despite the storm. Honestly, if someone had told me that I would become this confident I wouldn't have believed that person. I would have even insulted and quarrelled with that person for talking nonsense.Running through the shadow world was form. There was nothing like solids or liquids here. In fact there wasn't the existence of any object which could obstruct my path. I was so much free to move any way I liked, going through objects that would have been impossible to pass through by ordinary people. This gave me a new feeling which I couldn't describe. It was more like I was enjoying what I was doing right now."Let's see how mighty and great you are, Demonic

Lisa's POVMy entire body became covered with this white light that blinded even me. I couldn't even see any of my teammates who were doing battle or the undead creatures which were rapidly coming out of the ground to fight us. With this situation I felt that I'd been isolated from the entire world.Soon the light cleared and I could see again. I could see the others resume their fight against the undead creatures while keeping an eye on me. They all wore shocked expressions as if they didn't expect me to finally awaken my ability at the last moment. The most shocked of them all was Stephanie who had quarreled with me an hour ago."All my life I've been mocked by others and trampled upon," I silently muttered to myself as I clenched my other fist which wasn't wielding a sword, my eyes firmly on Althea who was still struggling to prevent the Demonic Wolf from crashing to the ground. "I have to change that today and show that I'm not entirely useless as everyone thinks."I took on a fig

  • The Heiress Revenge    Chapter 104: Awakening At The Last Moment

Lisa's POV.When the Demonic Wolf appeared, I was really terrified. This was because I'd never seen anything like this. It easily towered over us like a small mountain and had a terrifying aura capable of crushing everyone. If not for the others around I would have already run away in order to escape from this powerful creature. But then, would that have made any difference? Hence, I decided to stay and fight no matter what. Although I was the ordinary one here I decided to give it my all and defeat this powerful Demonic Wolf which was after our lives.I wielded my sword, slashing the undead humanoid creatures it has summoned to attack us. It seemed as if it thought itself to be too powerful to do anything to us. Hence it sent its lackeys. This thought filled me with the determination to kill this Demonic Wolf or whatever it called itself."Find away to attack the Demonic Wolf!" I heard Faelan's voice. "If we don't kill it we will have to fight these undead creatures. And when that ha

Jake's POVI was about to kiss Lisa when I heard a very loud roar. Well, she heard it too and that interrupted our kiss. I was so upset that I wanted to immediately run towards the source of that roar and kill it with my bare hands. How dare it interrupt my first kiss with the woman I loved?I didn't have the chance to say anything to Lisa when the others. The main reason I'd actually come to meet her was to confess my feelings to her. But now everything I'd planned to say had been ruined. There was no way I'd be able to confess to Lisa now. It would be in the far future.I was still standing with my sword drawn when I felt this tremendous energy surge from the direction I'd been staring it. It was very powerful and almost overwhelmed me if not for the light within me. Even with the light, if I'd not awakened and connected with the guardian within me I would have been overwhelmed by this terrifying energy. I would have immediately died without knowing how and why.I turned to look at

Lisa's POVI continued running, not for once looking back at my friends. I was so angry right now and I needed to vent my feelings or else it would turn out bad for me. I wasn't very good when it came to bottling up feelings. Every time I became angry or hurt I'd do one or two things to release the negative feelings. And that was what I was going to do right now that my friends had made me angry.I finally stopped running, bending over as I panted heavily. I was already drenched in sweat which made my dress to stick to my body like glue. It wasn't a pleasant feeling but there was nothing I'd be able to do about it. My condition wasn't good right now and I needed to do something in order to feel better. After some minutes I finally recovered, my breathing becoming normal. I looked up at the moon which was shining brightly in the sky. Although there were tall trees in the forest they couldn't even obscure its radiance. It just stood in the sky, shining as if that was all that matters. I

Lisa's POVFinding the light within us? This seems like a fantasy we've been told to keep us in bondage. To be honest I was beginning to feel a little doubtful about everything. It wasn't as if I didn't believe the words of the Elders of Light but everything they said was hard to accomplish. I mean, we've been trying to find our light and connect with our guardians for a long period of time now.Well, at first we felt something. We really felt a connection and our body radiated with ethereal light which seemed to come from the dawn of existence. I really felt myself brimming with this primordial energy. But then, that was all to it. I didn't feel any change, I didn't feel any strength and I didn't feel any difference. I was just the same old me, Lisa Kay. I was just the ordinary young girl or woman or female...whatever they call it. I was just someone filled with emptiness. If it was up to me I would have really given up on all this. I would have stopped a long time ago, not following

The air was thick with the scent of blooming blossoms and damp earth, as if the forest itself breathed in tandem with us. I could sense the spirits of the guardians guiding us, their presence like a warm embrace, assuring us that we were on the right path.“Where do you think we should go first?” Althea asked, turning her attention to the winding trails branching out before us. Each path appeared to beckon with its own mysteries.“Perhaps we should seek out the elders in Eldoria,” I suggested, recalling the Keeper’s wisdom about gathering knowledge. “They possess insights and histories that could empower our journey.”Faelan raised an eyebrow, his expression animated. “The Elders of Light! They are the ancient wisdom bearers of our realm. If anyone can guide us in nurturing our newfound abilities, it’s them.”The prospect of meeting the Elders sparked
