LISA'S POV

I stared blankly at my phone, my heart sinking as I read Leo's message. "I'm done playing games, Lisa. Our arrangement is over."

The words cut deep, but I wasn't surprised. I'd seen it coming. Leo had never truly wanted me; he'd only married me to spite my father. To prove a point.

I remembered the day he proposed, his eyes gleaming with triumph. "Marry me, Lisa," he'd said, "and I'll show your father what it means to cross me."

I'd been young and naive, blinded by the luxury and power Leo offered. But now, I saw him for what he truly was - a ruthless manipulator.

Our marriage had been a sham from the start. Leo had never loved me; he'd only used me to further his own agenda. And now, he was discarding me like trash.

I felt a wave of anger wash over me, but I pushed it down. What was the point? I'd known what I was getting into. I'd made a deal with the devil, and now I had to pay the price.

But as I looked around my opulent prison, I realized I couldn't take it anymore. I

LISA'S POV I watched Leo's expression change, his eyes hardening as he nodded. "Take all the time you need." But I saw something else there, something that made my heart sink.Resentment. Frustration. Maybe even hatred. I felt a chill run down my spine as I realized Leo was tired of me, tired of the drama I'd brought into his life. Tired of me.I took a step back, feeling like I'd been punched in the gut. "Leo, I—" I began. But he cut me off. "Just take the time, Lisa. Think about what you want." His voice was cold, detached.I nodded, feeling tears prick at the corners of my eyes. This was it. This was the end. I turned and walked away, leaving Leo standing alone in the room.As I closed the door behind me, I felt a sense of despair wash over me. I'd lost him. I'd lost everything. I wandered through the streets, my mind reeling with thoughts of Leo, of my family, of the mess I'd made. How had it come to this? How had I let things spiral so out of control?I stopped in front of a sma

LISA'S POV I slammed the car door shut, feeling a mix of relief and frustration. That's it, I'd had enough of Leo's games. As I drove away from the house, my phone rang. Leo's brother. I ignored it.Instead, I dialed Alex's number, our secret investigator. We had a score to settle."Alex, it's Lisa," I said, my voice firm."Lisa, what's going on?" Alex asked, concern etched in his voice.I pulled into a parking spot and took a deep breath. "Meet me at the coffee shop on 5th Street."Alex agreed, and I arrived first, my foot tapping impatiently on the floor. When Alex walked in, I waved him over. "Did you forget why I hired you?" I asked, my hand thumping on the table.Alex's expression turned cautious. "No, Lisa. You wanted me to investigate Andre's life."My ex-husband's name still left a bitter taste in my mouth."Exactly," I said, my eyes narrowing. "But you've stopped giving me updates. What's going on?"Alex leaned back, his voice calm. "Lisa, you've been busy with your new marr

She's just Leo's ex," Marcus said, his voice low.I raised an eyebrow, intrigued.Leo's expression turned cold, his eyes warning Marcus to shut up.But Marcus continued, "Yeah, they had a wild ride, but Leo's moved on. You're the new flavor of the month, Lisa."The group chuckled, their laughter like a slap in the face.I felt a sting, but Leo's silence hurt more. LISA'S POV I stood there, my head held high, as my family discussed my life as if I wasn't even in the room.Dad's words cut deep. "Now that Lisa's married to Leo, we can't trust her anymore."I felt a sting, but I remained silent.Mom's eyes met mine, and for a moment, I thought I saw a flicker of understanding. But Dad continued, his voice firm. "That's why I demoted her from CEO to nothing. She has no role in the company now."Becky's grip on my hand tightened.Louisa snorted. "Good riddance. She didn't deserve the position anyway."I clenched my jaw, fighting to keep my temper in check.Dad's words kept coming, each one a dagger to my heart. LISA'S POV I stomped out into the darkness, blinded by tears. No one was taking me back, but I had to get to Leo; whatever his motives were. Did I care anymore? Not exactly but there just has to be some way that Louisa blinded everyone, or they've had it in them all along to make a fool out of me, and I never noticed. How did I expect to? When all I ever thought of was giving Andre a taste of his own medicine, and trying to win Leo's trust - I still needed his help. Just then, a taxi pulled up from around the corner and I hailed it without a second thought. I had to get away from everyone and everything that constantly reminded me of my pain. And Becky… she didn't try to put her neck on the line for me. It seemed she was somehow in the know of this nasty plot against me, but she put up quite a sordid act of not understanding what the whole situation meant for me. I took out my mobile phone and stole a glance at the screen. Damn! It's late already, but I'll have to act super angry t

LOUISA'S POVI glanced at the paper once more. 5th street. Coffee shop. But I've been sitting here for literally an hour and half. Maybe this person had other motives. Shit! Why didn't I think of that? What if they were only interested in airing me out to Lisa? What did it matter anyway? That sister of mine should be aware that I'm interested in her downfall only. I looked out of the window again. There was no sign of anyone. So, I took yet another sip of the black coffee I had ordered. Why hadn't I discovered this spot all these years? They made coffee the way it should be; not those things we get served at the office. And that's because of Lisa's incompetence! If she couldn’t see to the smallest thing as good coffee , what good was she anyway? I was tapped out of my reverie as the door bell tingled again. This place was so old-fashioned, yet so up-to-date. I guess they wanted to retain the architectural heritage. Wait. That's a familiar face. It's Becky Lyn. Why's she craning her

LEO'S POV The twelve-year-old boy looked at me, and all I could see was a male version of Kate. Did she clone herself already? We'd arrived quite early to take his samples for the testing. Dr Lamar was very careful, and Kate wasn't anywhere near the hospital. The huge hole in her plan would make the whole framework of it fall through. I eyed the top of his blonde head as he sat beside me. Why did Kate give him up for the test so easily? I shuddered all over again. Could he really be my son? I looked at his face once more. I couldn't see anything that looked like mine: eyes, nose, lips - they were all Kate's.“Dad?" I almost hit the lad when he addressed me so. We didn't even have proof of that yet. Kate had been feeding him with so many lies, and he bought them all. I'm sure he also inherited her fish brain. He looked at me with piercing eyes.“Dad? Why aren't you saying anything? Am I sick? I've been getting lots of tests lately." I huffed. Explaining things to this kid might make

KATE'S POVI watched Leo's reaction as he came out of the hospital. I'd been sitting out here the whole time, waiting for him to show up with our son so that I could take a photograph of both of them together, and it came out perfect. They were even holding hands.“What's the meaning of this, Kate? We agreed that you wouldn't come around here." I almost laughed, recalling the action that would have best gone with his words, if we weren't in a public place. Lenny came over and took my hand.“Was he nice?" I asked my son while my eyes rested on his father. He pumped my hand twice. “Good." I held Leo's gaze. “I'm really impressed by your parenting skills, Leo. At least, that's something you haven't blown up for yourself." I watched his jaw tense. It seemed like everything to me when his frustrating was right about frothing out of the cup. Who did he think he was anyway that he could do away with me like trash? There's no better way to torture him.“Aren't you going to say anything, Leo

Althea's POVAs I stood with the others far away from the Demonic Wolf, I couldn't help but think about how Lisa had saved me. To be honest, I didn't even expect her to save me on account of us quarrelling earlier. When I decided to hold back the Demonic Wolf and give everyone a chance to escape, I hadn't even expected anyone of them to come back for me. But somehow Lisa has acquired her ability, using it to come back for me. I would have died if not for her coming at the right moment to save me from the Demonic Wolf.My eyes lingered in the direction everyone was looking, hoping that Lisa would at least walk out of this. She had saved me from the Demonic Wolf, doing something very stupid later. And that thing was going off by herself to fight off the Demonic Wolf when she had not yet learnt how to control her ability. No one in the team could even take down the Demonic Wolf no matter what but she had gone off, hoping to finish off the Demonic Wolf. I didn't know if this was stupidity

Lisa's POVI've never been this confident in my entire life. It was like my courage had been multiplied several times after getting my shadow ability. It boosted my confidence and eliminated any fear and doubt that would have existed in my mind. My courage was unwavering just like a sturdy tree which could not be brought down despite the storm. Honestly, if someone had told me that I would become this confident I wouldn't have believed that person. I would have even insulted and quarrelled with that person for talking nonsense.Running through the shadow world was form. There was nothing like solids or liquids here. In fact there wasn't the existence of any object which could obstruct my path. I was so much free to move any way I liked, going through objects that would have been impossible to pass through by ordinary people. This gave me a new feeling which I couldn't describe. It was more like I was enjoying what I was doing right now."Let's see how mighty and great you are, Demonic

  • The Heiress Revenge    Chapter 105: Slaying The Demonic Wolf

Lisa's POVMy entire body became covered with this white light that blinded even me. I couldn't even see any of my teammates who were doing battle or the undead creatures which were rapidly coming out of the ground to fight us. With this situation I felt that I'd been isolated from the entire world.Soon the light cleared and I could see again. I could see the others resume their fight against the undead creatures while keeping an eye on me. They all wore shocked expressions as if they didn't expect me to finally awaken my ability at the last moment. The most shocked of them all was Stephanie who had quarreled with me an hour ago."All my life I've been mocked by others and trampled upon," I silently muttered to myself as I clenched my other fist which wasn't wielding a sword, my eyes firmly on Althea who was still struggling to prevent the Demonic Wolf from crashing to the ground. "I have to change that today and show that I'm not entirely useless as everyone thinks."I took on a fig

Lisa's POV.When the Demonic Wolf appeared, I was really terrified. This was because I'd never seen anything like this. It easily towered over us like a small mountain and had a terrifying aura capable of crushing everyone. If not for the others around I would have already run away in order to escape from this powerful creature. But then, would that have made any difference? Hence, I decided to stay and fight no matter what. Although I was the ordinary one here I decided to give it my all and defeat this powerful Demonic Wolf which was after our lives.I wielded my sword, slashing the undead humanoid creatures it has summoned to attack us. It seemed as if it thought itself to be too powerful to do anything to us. Hence it sent its lackeys. This thought filled me with the determination to kill this Demonic Wolf or whatever it called itself."Find away to attack the Demonic Wolf!" I heard Faelan's voice. "If we don't kill it we will have to fight these undead creatures. And when that ha

Jake's POVI was about to kiss Lisa when I heard a very loud roar. Well, she heard it too and that interrupted our kiss. I was so upset that I wanted to immediately run towards the source of that roar and kill it with my bare hands. How dare it interrupt my first kiss with the woman I loved?I didn't have the chance to say anything to Lisa when the others. The main reason I'd actually come to meet her was to confess my feelings to her. But now everything I'd planned to say had been ruined. There was no way I'd be able to confess to Lisa now. It would be in the far future.I was still standing with my sword drawn when I felt this tremendous energy surge from the direction I'd been staring it. It was very powerful and almost overwhelmed me if not for the light within me. Even with the light, if I'd not awakened and connected with the guardian within me I would have been overwhelmed by this terrifying energy. I would have immediately died without knowing how and why.I turned to look at

  • The Heiress Revenge    Chapter 102: Powerful Roar

Lisa's POVI continued running, not for once looking back at my friends. I was so angry right now and I needed to vent my feelings or else it would turn out bad for me. I wasn't very good when it came to bottling up feelings. Every time I became angry or hurt I'd do one or two things to release the negative feelings. And that was what I was going to do right now that my friends had made me angry.I finally stopped running, bending over as I panted heavily. I was already drenched in sweat which made my dress to stick to my body like glue. It wasn't a pleasant feeling but there was nothing I'd be able to do about it. My condition wasn't good right now and I needed to do something in order to feel better. After some minutes I finally recovered, my breathing becoming normal. I looked up at the moon which was shining brightly in the sky. Although there were tall trees in the forest they couldn't even obscure its radiance. It just stood in the sky, shining as if that was all that matters. I

Lisa's POVFinding the light within us? This seems like a fantasy we've been told to keep us in bondage. To be honest I was beginning to feel a little doubtful about everything. It wasn't as if I didn't believe the words of the Elders of Light but everything they said was hard to accomplish. I mean, we've been trying to find our light and connect with our guardians for a long period of time now.Well, at first we felt something. We really felt a connection and our body radiated with ethereal light which seemed to come from the dawn of existence. I really felt myself brimming with this primordial energy. But then, that was all to it. I didn't feel any change, I didn't feel any strength and I didn't feel any difference. I was just the same old me, Lisa Kay. I was just the ordinary young girl or woman or female...whatever they call it. I was just someone filled with emptiness. If it was up to me I would have really given up on all this. I would have stopped a long time ago, not following

Seraphina’s POVThe forest seemed to come alive as we ventured onward, each step igniting the vibrant magic woven into its very fabric. The air was thick with the scent of blooming blossoms and damp earth, as if the forest itself breathed in tandem with us. I could sense the spirits of the guardians guiding us, their presence like a warm embrace, assuring us that we were on the right path.“Where do you think we should go first?” Althea asked, turning her attention to the winding trails branching out before us. Each path appeared to beckon with its own mysteries.“Perhaps we should seek out the elders in Eldoria,” I suggested, recalling the Keeper’s wisdom about gathering knowledge. “They possess insights and histories that could empower our journey.”Faelan raised an eyebrow, his expression animated. “The Elders of Light! They are the ancient wisdom bearers of our realm. If anyone can guide us in nurturing our newfound abilities, it’s them.”The prospect of meeting the Elders sparked

Seraphina’s POVAs the sun climbed higher, illuminating the glade with its warm embrace, I felt a shift within me a surge of determination to honor the promise we had made. Each whisper of the wind felt like a gentle nudge, guiding us toward our fate. Althea and Faelan, standing resolute beside me, reflected the same resolve. Our journey together had transformed the weights we carried into wings.“Let’s move forward,” I said, my voice steady. “We’ve tapped into the essence of our light, but we must now discover how to apply it.”Althea nodded, her eyes glistening with excitement. “There’s so much to uncover, and I can't shake the feeling that the forest still holds secrets meant for us alone.”With renewed purpose, we ventured deeper into the heart of the forest. The air crackled with energy as we followed an unseen path one that felt alive and woven with magic. Each step we took resonated with the bond we had forged amidst adversity; it was as if the forest itself acknowledged our co
