Chapter 32: More Energy

LISA'S POV

I stood up from the bed, my movements swift and deliberate. My sister's eyes widened in surprise, but I didn't give her a chance to ask any more questions. I knew that if I lingered, she would pry and probe, trying to get more information out of me. And I wasn't ready to give it to her. Not yet.

I turned and walked out of her room, the soft carpet muffling my footsteps as I made my way back down the hallway. My mind was racing with thoughts and emotions, but I pushed them all aside, focusing on the task at hand. I needed to get some rest.

I entered my own room, closing the door softly behind me. The room was quiet and dark, the only sound the soft hum of my alarm clock on my nightstand. I moved swiftly, switching off the lamp and plunging the room into darkness.

I walked over to my bed, feeling my way through the darkness. I slipped off my shoes and socks, letting out a soft sigh as my feet sank into the plush carpet. I climbed into bed, feeling the softness of the blanket
