Charles drove in silence, the mountain roads twisting around them as the cold air outside grew sharper. He could tell Suzanne was deep in thought, her gaze distant as she looked out the window, lost in the blur of the landscape. It wasn’t until they reached the narrow road leading up to the inn that she turned her attention to him.

“You remember this place?” she asked, her voice soft, almost unsure.

“I do,” Charles said, keeping his eyes on the road, focusing on the driving. “It’s where we met.”

Suzanne smiled faintly, the hint of a memory flickering in her eyes. “Yeah, I used to come up here a lot. It helped me stay in character for the role... clear my head. I needed the solitude to focus.”

Charles nodded, taking the sharp turn up to the inn nestled in the trees. The thick snow blanketed the ground, and the towering pines seemed to close in around them. He knew this place meant a lot to her. But he didn’t want to bring up anything from their past—not yet. Instead, he focused on her.

Liam slowed the car as they pulled up to the inn, the snow crunching under the tires. As he parked, he noticed a man heading inside. For a split second, he thought he recognized him. Tall, broad-shouldered...he looked like someone he knew."Everything okay?" Mirabel asked, glancing over at him.Liam hesitated, still watching the man. “I thought I saw someone I knew... but it’s nothing.”Mirabel raised an eyebrow. "You sure? You’re acting kind of weird."Liam gave a half-hearted smile. "I’m fine. Just thought I saw someone familiar, that's all."She didn’t seem convinced, but didn’t press it. “Alright, whatever. Let’s go inside.”*Sarah paced in her dimly lit room, her fingers gripping the phone tightly as she dialed a number. She needed to know what was happening, and she needed it now. The line clicked before one of the men spoke.“Sarah,” one of them grumbled, sounding agitated. “We’re still waiting. The husband’s with her. It’s not the right time.”Sarah’s frustration bubbled over

Liam’s heart raced as he followed the kidnappers' car, every fiber of his being focused on catching up. He kept his distance, his car silently gliding through the winding mountain roads, the headlights from the kidnappers’ vehicle illuminating the night. He could see Suzanne through the window, struggling against her captors, her face a mask of fear.Inside the car, Suzanne kicked, clawed, and screamed, but there was nothing she could do. The men were too strong, too relentless. Her chest heaved with desperation, her mind spinning. "Who sent you?" she screamed, her voice shaky but defiant. "I’ll pay double! Triple! Just let me go!"The leader of the kidnappers laughed, a harsh, cruel sound. "You can't out pay our sender," he sneered.Liam’s jaw clenched, his fists tightening on the wheel. He wasn’t going to let them get away. Not this time.Without a second thought, he slammed his foot on the gas pedal, his car surging forward like a predator closing in on its prey. His tires screeche

The hospital was buzzing with activity, but the air was thick with tension as a pair of uniformed officers strode into the emergency room, their eyes scanning the busy hallway. One of the doctors, Mike, spotted them and walked over.“Can I help you?” Mike asked, his voice calm but with a hint of concern.“We’re looking for Dr. Liam Carter,” one of the officers replied. “Is he here?”Mike nodded, gesturing down the hallway. “He’s in the surgery room right now. We should wait a little.”Just as Mike finished speaking, the door to the surgery room opened with a soft whoosh, and there stood Dr. Liam Carter. His scrubs were stained with blood, but his expression was focused, his eyes scanning the room until they met the officers.Mike turned to them. “That’s him,” he said, his voice low but clear. “That’s Dr. Liam Carter.”The officers stepped forward, one of them holding up a notepad. “Dr. Carter, we need to speak with you.”Liam nodded, stepping toward them, his gaze shifting between the

"We have a family doctor, Liam. She's in charge of everything that happens in the house. If Charles is behind this, we cannot tell him I'm pregnant. We have to keep it a secret," Suzanne said, her voice breaking as her eyes watered. She wasn’t certain yet, but if Charles had any involvement in this, she would never be able to forgive him. Not after everything she’d already endured. Her racing thoughts were interrupted when Liam gently squeezed her hand, his touch grounding her."I'm with you on this, Suzy," he said, his voice firm and reassuring. "I'll have my team keep quiet on this incident. But first, you need to bring me the pills. We need evidence."Suzanne’s heart skipped a beat. "Please, Liam," she whispered. "I don't want to believe this is true. But if Charles is behind it, I don’t know how I’ll be able to look at him the same way again."Liam nodded, his gaze softening. "I understand, Suzy. But we can’t act on suspicion alone. We need to be sure. I’ll help you get the eviden

“Don’t you dare speak to me like that again,” Suzanne said, her voice shaking with fury. Her chest heaved as she stared Beatrice down. “You have no idea what I’ve been through! None! How dare you try to shame me for something I couldn’t control?”“Did you just…?” Beatrice sputtered, still holding her cheek. “You slapped me? Me?”Suzanne didn’t flinch. “Yes, I did. And I’ll do it again if you ever speak to me like that. I’ve had enough of your cruelty.”Charles stepped between them, his face pale. “Suzanne! Mother! Please—this isn’t the time for this!”But Suzanne wasn’t finished. Her voice rose as she spoke, every word filled with the pain and anger she had been holding in. “You sit here, judging me, insulting me, when you don’t even know the full story. We’re going to help you, but right now, you need to remain calm.”Charles’s eyes narrowed in disbelief, and his chest tightened. He spun around to face the officer, his voice shaking with fury. “Calm down?” he repeated, his words coming out in a strained shout. “My wife is missing, and you want me to calm down? Suzanne made her way through the busy hospital, her heels clicking against the floor as she approached the emergency desk. “Excuse me, I’m looking for Dr. Liam Carter,” she asked, her tone polite but purposeful. The nurse behind the counter gave a quick nod. “Straight down the hall, take a left. His office is right there.”“Thank you,” Suzanne replied, already turning toward the direction she’d been pointed in.But as she rounded the corner of the hallway, a flash of movement caught Sarah’s eye. She froze, her heart giving a little jolt. Is that Mrs. Langford? The woman walking just ahead of her looked unmistakably like Suzanne, but Sarah couldn’t be sure. She squinted, watching as Suzanne moved farther down the hallway. Her instincts kicked in. I have to be sure. Without a second thought, Sarah followed, silently slipping through the corridor, making sure to stay out of sight. Prison Visiting CenterLeo Carter stepped into the stark, dimly lit visiting area, the scent of disinfectant lingering in the air. The walls were gray, the chairs metal and bolted to the floor, and a thick pane of glass separated him from the person he had come to see—his son, Finn Carter.Finn sat on the other side, wearing an orange prison jumpsuit. His once confident and cunning eyes were now shadowed with exhaustion and regret. His knuckles were bruised, likely from a fight, and there was an emptiness about him that hadn’t been there before. He stared at Leo through the glass, eyes cautious, waiting for him to speak first.Leo picked up the phone attached to the divider. Slowly, Finn did the same."You actually came," Finn muttered, voice hoarse.Leo exhaled, his grip tightening around the receiver. "Of course, I did.
