Chapter 5: Dreamy Nightmare
A warm tickle over my face woke me up from the living nightmare of my life. The heated rays of sun were penetrating from the denseness of branches, making them shine like priceless gems. I was lying on the forest ground, submerged in dirt and dried leaves.
The sounds of chirping birds were resonating in unbound walls of the forests, consoling me for my loss. My entire body was aching as I tried to get up. I stood up with great difficulty using the support of the tree, realizing the reason I was running last night.
My heart ached remembering the brutal events, screams, and face of Tae weren’t leaving my mind. She did many things, but I never thought she would give up her life. I will cherish this useless life for you Tae and for my mother. I will.
Your sacrifice won’t be fruitless. I promise you, I will try my best to get out of this first to find my father to reunite, to help him rule the kingdom of werewolves. Even though he won’t like me, he won’t kill me either, otherwise he won’t have left a few warriors behind for my protection. I still have hope to earn the affection from him. Doubtless, I will. I will find my happiness as you wished.
I was forcing myself to walk somewhat. Dropping the dirty and half torn robe behind, I followed the smell of fresh flowing water and the newly soaked soil, which gave me hope, burning the fire of expectation and fate in the moon goddess. I knew where to go. The place where my destiny was waiting for me, where I feel secure.
That soul soothing smell was hinted at with the familiar lotus flower. My stomach growled, making me remember I was starving. I walked to drench my dry throat, to drink some water from the suspected source, and my legs started approaching hard.
Forest wasn’t feeling scary at all in broad daylight because I could see the small beautiful flowers blooming over the shrubs and vines climbing trees arrogantly with pearly small red flowers.
I forgot my pain watching the beauty of the forest, which made me think about the vampires who were chasing me wanting to take my life. It took little to figure out they wanted me. But why they attacked the palace?
My situation and the glory of this forest were exactly opposite. The place I loved to roam, sneaking from prison to find happiness with them.
But now, I was looking for my happiness, standing in the middle of them; where my smile always bloomed widely back. I felt like I had nothing left in my life. Being arbitrary is the terrible curse anyone can possess.
I stepped out from the perimeter of the forest. A storming wind was showcasing its dominance over the river. I was standing in front of the mountain ranges, which I used to admire from the window of my room.
The same mountain ranges, I spend my integrated life watching them, envied them for being so open. I couldn’t understand whether I should be glad. It felt like a pleasing dream had sneaked into my grim life. It was extremely fascinating than I had imagined.
A giggling river was flowing, separating the forest in two parts. The water was making roaring noises whenever it struck the large black stones who were peeping out from the river basin. A stained red sky was sheltered by the clear blurring water, protected with tall green walls of forest from both sides.
I stepped forward in a pebbled path getting drowned to the view and the most lovely smell of lotus flowers. They were across the alternative end of the river, spread over a vast area resembling the stars in the night sky, but my heart became violent and confused.
I was feeling someone from behind. My heart dropped in the pit of my stomach. They must be vampires. I was so trapped in the beauty of nature that I compromised my safety. I can’t let Tae’s sacrifice go in fruitless.
I have to survive this for Tae, for my mother. Crumbling of dried leaves increased. They were coming behind me. I turned to look back; the forest looked the same, no movement looked doubtful, but I pulled out my silver dagger, fisting it tightly in my hand.
I screamed, holding my silver knife strong in the air as a monstrous wolf jumped in front of me, making a soul terrifying growl. He was massive, definitely the alpha of some pack. Frightened me, threw a knife in his direction, running away from him.
My heart rate was hiked, making my mind careless completely. My legs paced up as his canines flashed in front of my eyes. Without thinking twice, I ran over the stones.
I turned my head while running ahead, heading into the water. This wolf was gigantic. His dark chocolate brown fur was on alert, but the black shaded flexes on his brown fur made him appealing too. He must be the alpha of some nearby territory where I was.
Means he thinks I have violated the boundary of his pack. Shit, weren’t vampires enough? Alphas are known for their extreme anger and cruelty to rouges. He must consider me as a rogue and want to kill me for intruding on his territory.
That wolf jumped in front of me, standing with pride in the stone where I was heading to. I lost my balance because of his startling move and fell into the river while screaming out loud.
Chilly water was rising to my chest as the flow of the river rapidly grew, pushing me away from the stony region where he was standing gazing at me with his yellow piercing eyes full of suspicion.
I was moving my limbs, struggling to keep breathing; I held a nearby rock getting hit by it in my leg, but kept my grip on the stone with both of my hands. The freshly oozing blood was mixing with ice river water slowly, while stinking alongside.
That chocolate brown wolf was standing without moving, when I drawn in the river. He was panting. His shoulders were moving up and down, staring at me as he was waiting for my death.
I was horrified. I can’t swim nor come in the water with this much depth before. The level of water was increasing gradually and my hold on the rock was losing. That wolf jumped on a nearby stone with his breathtaking growl, which made me lose my concentration and my grip over the stone.
I was screaming, yelling, but it only led water to enter my system. Horror passed as the river took me with its flow as I was the leaf fell on it. My struggles were going in vain, water was burning my lungs, and suddenly I fell freely in the stream.
My brain froze as I could see the edge getting higher and higher in front of my eyes. I got trapped in a waterfall. The pressure of water was drenching my energy. The last thing I remember was the wolf hovering over the edge of the waterfall.
Chapter 6: Decision of The Alpha Rowan Selous’s pov, “Rowan, think twice about it. I am not getting any good vibes about it.” Waylen suggested in a warning tone, banging his fist over the table, making a hole in the table as the sound of cracking the table thundered in my office. He was clearly angry with my decision. I knew he would be, as my friend and beta, it was expected from him. I turned to look back at him, keeping control over my wolf. He never likes to hear someone talking louder than him or me. He lowered his head slightly in respect of his Alpha, but his eyes were still meeting mine. “I will start preparation, then.” He responded in a mocking tone, glaring at me, showing his unwillingness to do it. Rolling his eyes, he left the office immediately, making loud sounds while taking every step on wooden flooring. We basically grew up together. Only Waylen had the right to talk to me or show his anger at me.&n
Chapter 7 Troubled Mind Rowan’s Pov, My chest was tightening, escalating its beating uncomfortably, making me worried about the unknown, as something is so close to me. The dim, bright sun was shadowed by the dark clouds. Over hundred werewolves were sitting in front of me holding excited and joyed faces, to witness my marriage with Sharon, the niece of my aunt and I was standing to wait for her to complete the ceremony in an open ground in front of holy chalice. Everything was weird for me. I wasn’t excited nor sad, but some kind of uneasiness of poking in my heart as something wasn’t right. The flow of blood was rushing in my veins as I had taken the longest run of my life. It was the first time I was experiencing something which I wasn’t capable of understanding and I knew it wasn’t regarding this marriage thing. My uncle Silas was standing behind me, to support me in this decision. He looked happy as he was retiring soon fro
Chapter 8 Endangered LifeRowan’s pov,The moon was spreading its peacefulness all across the dark forest, but my heart was in turmoil. It was burning with anxiety and fear of something which me and my wolf couldn’t recognize. My battalions had already sent to help King Vincent on the battlefield under the leadership of the Waylen. It would have been convenient if I went with them too, but that night was the weirdest night of my life. He had already noticed my senses were peaked and the weird behavior of my wolf. Their howl noted they are returning to me. It won’t take long for them to reach me. I have to find it in time or I couldn’t later.Everything around me felt like it was telling me an unknown tale. I was getting drawn to the magnificent aroma of moist soil across the ranges instead of the smell of blood from the east. I looked up at the tip of the ranges peeping out from the depth of the forest. They w
Chapter 9: The Green-Eyed Warmth Aylin’s pov, I curl up to the comfortable warmth surrounding me like a cocoon of affection. It was soothing after the impact of freezing water. I pulled that moving source of heat to me, trapping it in my arms. I wasn’t ready to let it away from mbe. Everything felt like a terrible nightmare when I found myself falling into a waterfall, but the warmth made me realize it had already passed and I will open my eyes in my room again. Subtle blow of air tickling my face, I held my pillow tighter to my chest, nuzzling my face in it. An amazing smell of jungle filled my soul, but I felt suffocated when that pillow tried to hug me back. A firm, naked chest came in front of me as soon as I opened my eyes. “Ahhhh ‘’ I screamed, getting startled by the man laying in my bed with me. Pushing him far from me, I struggled to grab a night lamp from the nearby bed table and fell on the floor with a loud bang. The l
Chapter 10: Revealing Unspoken Aylin’s pov, “You are what?” Rowan asked in his deep, hoarse voice. Uncertainty was oozing through his words. Involuntarily, his hands tighten around me more and more. I knew he heard it right, so I kept my mouth shut. His eyes were so startled as he couldn’t even believe it. “Human? How is that possible? I can feel you-” He cut himself, watching me with his wavered eyes. He opened his mouth to complete his word but shut it again, loosening his tight grip over me and taking a step back from me. He stood, straightening his body, crossing his hands over his chest, taking a heavy breath. “How do you enter here?” He questioned after a long pause. Enter? Does he think I crossed the interdimensional pathway to get here? How stupid of him could be. “I am human but haven’t crossed the interdimensional barrier,” I explained, taking a seat over the bed. He didn’t move, but his gaze
Chapter 11: Painful News Aylin’s pov, Rowan nearly dragged me out with him, wrapping his chain-like hands around my waist as my waist was more of his than mine. My resistance did not affect him, but I felt as if he was enjoying it more and more. It was weird of him to treat a stranger as someone close to him. The dining area was vast and had large openings for air and sun. The wooden floor was covered with animal skin carpet below the dining table and the couch across the living room. Every decoration was natural, handmade, and eye-catching. He had a luxurious, cute cabin in the middle of the dense forest, as he wanted to be as close as nature. I could hear the chirping of the birds and the sound of the small animals running across the jungle freely enjoying their freedom, as there is no tomorrow.&nbs
Chapter 12: SufferingAylin's Pov,"Wh-at did yo-u say?" I asked, clutching his shirt furiously in my hand, hoping I had heard wrong but his silence was proving me wrong. Waylen stood there motionless, hanging his head low. My hands started shaking as my mind was processing the stab he made over my heart.“I asked, what did you say?” I demanded in my shaky firm voice pulling him towards me. Tears were already gathered in my eyes threatening me to roll down all over my face. Father can't leave me too. He can't. I know that he doesn't love me but he can't be that cruel to leave me alone in this world. He doesn't prefer to see my face but not punish me with such a barbaric method.“Father? My father can't do this to me, at least not to the Kingdom.” I denied taking steps back from him. A hand gripped over my trembling figure pulling me over a broad warm chest trapping me in the cage of the arms. Rowan was pushing me more in his
Chapter 13 Rowan’s pov, Her muffles were touring my heart, making it difficult to keep myself calm. I know she must be in a lot of pain as her father died, but her tears would not make the situation better, but they were acting like a knife over my heart. I couldn’t control my raging anger and yelled at her, hoping that she would stop her cry. The door of the bedroom burst open, entering the Waylen, who was shocked and demanded me to come out of the bedroom. I need to leave and calm myself down, otherwise, I will keep forcing her to stop making her condition worse. As her mate, every beat of her heart was falling over my ear mingled with her painful cries. I left the room as I wasn't able to see her in that broken state longing to be with her father. Waylen fol
Chapter 65: Until The End of EndlessThumpThumpThumpI nuzzled closer to the melody, which was caressing my heart. It was warm and was pulling me towards it. The subtle smell of flowers lingered with a known soothing fragrance filled me, wanting to melt more than I was. A soft smile crept over my lips as something wet brushed over my cheeks, and it roamed all over my face.“Love…. Love…. Get up. You’re sleeping for a while.” Rowan bit down on my earlobe, forcing me to get up. I opened my eyes to see his full blossomed smile and my green captivating world was watching me with all the tenderness in this universe.“It’s nice to see you smile.” He bent down and nibbled my mouth. I pulled him over me, roaming my hands in his hair while giggling in our kiss. His tongue was quite curious and left no place, which didn’t explo
Chapter 64: A Choice To Choose My world shattered, watching the crimson red liquid oozing out of his shoulder. He held my shaking hand in his hand and pressed it over his chest, giving me a tight-lipped smile. His heart was beating softly under my palm, but it scared me. He was watching me as if he wanted me to remember it. “Please, don’t do this. I just found you again.” He brought my head to rest over his forehead, removing the pearls he hated watching in my eyes. “I am really sorry, my Aylin.” Something was touring in me. He hugged me on my lap. I could hear the troops ripping the Silas apart, his painful screams were thundering the walls of the palace, but it gave me no hope ahead. “You have no right to leave me.” The thought of being without him turned my
Chapter 63: A War To Change The Fate of Our livesA drop of tear left my eyes hearing his voice after a long period. It drenched my thirsty throat, seeping its warmth until it reached my heart, but he was nowhere to see. My eyes were frantically searching for its one glimpse. His one roared surges an undying energy in them, as they step forwards dripping the anger they were holding for a long time, dividing them in two parts. He was standing at the end of the force, taking steps, reducing this unbearable distance between us.My lips quivered as finally my gaze met with the densest green forest which always reflects on me. I nodded at his assurance, suppressing my collecting tears as my eyes filled him in my soul. His eyes were asking me to bear a few more minutes and then…. I promise not to let you let out of my hug ever. The walls of the palace shuddered under the howling of hypnoti
Chapter 62: A Wait To Hear His RoarAylin’s Pov,The vibration emerging from the floor erupting a painful impulse throughout my head, bringing me out from the deep blackness where I was trapped for two days. I coughed loud as the dirt molecules from the floor entered my system with inhalation forcing me to open my eyes. My head was pounding hard with the dizziness still controlling me.A dark room welcomed me with the bone chilling coldness surrounding me everywhere. Only the narrow window over the wall gave me the strength to keep breathing, to wait for my Rowan. My hands and legs were tied with chains, restricting my movements to reach the door of the cellar. The realization passed over me, my stubbornness to go to visit the shrine with my aunt, her death, and the injury of Orson ran through my mind. A drop of tear rolled down imagining the situation of my Rowan when he found out I was taken aw
Chapter 61: In Absence of Her“Do you think he killed Tremor?” Waylen asked while taking a seat in the hall in front of the elders. Completing my aunt’s funeral, I ordered everyone to gather to listen to my final decision on his betrayal of Silas. Bastard not only betrayed us but also took the entire three battalions with him.“It doesn’t matter anymore. She has a piece of the moon goddess’s soul in her that wasn’t hidden from him. Even if he killed Tremor, his main motives must be directed toward gaining more energy.”“She is the purest source of energy present in this entire universe. There are high chances his mind wanders around it, but for this, he has to perform a difficult ritual.” Orson landed from the light, closing his eyes in distress. The veins in my brain were pounding hard, daring to burst at any moment, her absence digging a hole in me and
Chapter 60: A Distressed HeartRowan’s pov,I forced myself to open another file, but my constant efforts to distract my mind were failing me miserably. After throwing it aside and walking to the bar section of my new office, the moment she asked me to join the shrine with my aunt, my heart wasn’t at ease. I wasn’t intending to trap her here, but my heart would be at least calmer. Her absence made everything difficult for me. I consoled my heart. She returns in hours while gulping down a few bottles of whiskey.I held the glass on the table tighter as it vibrated mildly and the lights in the office accompanied them while flickering with great intensity. The stuttering sound of furniture amplified, making me hold the edge of the table. Before I could think anything further, a blinding blue light swallowed the office. I held my hand in front of my eyes, struggling to see in front me.
Chapter 59: A Betrayal Of SilasThe rush of blood in my veins jolted me at the place. I realized someone was planning to attack from behind. Orson rushed over to me, standing beside me, unleashing my silver knife in his hand protectively. His sharp gaze was looking around for any hidden enemies.“Silas? Didn’t you want to go to work?” Aunt Ryane’s confused tone shifted my attention. I turned to see the fuming face of the Silas heading towards us with his death steps. The reason for his anger was unknown to me.Aunt was shuddering, clutching her wrists tight to stand straight. My face paled witnessing the dozens of wolves launched out of the trees, swiftly approaching us with narrowing their eyes. They didn’t give us a chance to react, and we were trapped between them. The sound of their growling was vibrating the small leaves on the floor.“Alpha Silas, what&rs
Chapter 58: A Deadly Visit To Shrine…… A week later……..I peppered kisses all across his face, but he rolled his eyes, turning away from me. What’s wrong with this wolf? It’s been more than a week since that incident, yet he won’t allow me to step out of the pack house. I agree, I scared him a lot with my stunt, but he practically kept me under house arrest.I hopped over his waist, wrapping my legs around to seduce him, roaming my hands across his hard, muscular torso.“Please, Rowan.” He pressed his lips, keeping himself content as my hand was descending southwards, tickling his balls.“No.” His refusal stunned me, pushing me away as he got up, ready to approach the wardrobe. I jumped over his back, wrapping my hands and legs around his back.“Aylinnnn.” He held
Chapter 57: A Promise To Keep“NO NO, please stop darling.” He held his trembling hands up in the orange flames, backing away from me and the flaring whirlpool. The Almost burned office was rumbling under my vigorous coughing. An air molecule restricting me from seeing my Rowan more.“What do you want? I will do, but stop this right now.” His face was getting blurrier with every passing second. The air was replaced with the black smoke threatening my existence. The heated sensation all over my skin intensified, irritating as it was getting pulled out of the bone.“Promise (cough) me, you (cough) won’t do that (cough) or I will burn (cough) down myself.” He was supporting himself with hands over the heated floor. I could see the duel in his heart. His handsome face was ashen
