Chapter 30: Uncovering The Covered

I was hesitant to leave her alone after witnessing her going under attack. Her stable condition was enough, but my heart wasn’t giving permission to do so.

A constant fear of losing her had invaded my inner mind. There wasn’t anyone whom I trusted her with. Orson and Waylen needed at the meeting, or they could have accompanied her. 

“You may go.” I turned to hear my aunt. The maid bowed her head while standing at the door. I thought aunt went into her chamber.

“Aunt? What are you doing here?” She walked closer, glancing at Aylin with a tired smile, and sat beside her. 

“Son, our Luna is exquisite.” She complemented turning her head from my chest to see her properly.

She was always warm to me, but I wasn’t welcomed with any warmth in my life except this fragile creature sleeping in my arms.
