95. Cornered

‘This time, I won't back down. I'm not afraid, even if I have to suffer—even if I have to die.’

Grace held her throbbing head. She couldn't believe those words had come out of her mouth in front of the king and so many people. Yet, she didn't regret it; she was just surprised at how brave she had become.

After the conflict in the throne room, the queen managed to calm the king and Adro, then ordered the guards to take Grace back to her room.

It had been a long time since Grace had felt this way. In the past, whenever she was in deep distress but realized that Bella and Sarah were too busy, she always kept everything to herself. Just like now, she could only stare out the window and have one-sided conversations with her late parents.

Suddenly, a knock sound came from the door, then it opened just as Grace finished wiping her tears and stood up from her chair.

"Y-Your Majesty," Grace bowed as the queen entered.

Queen Groendez smiled at Grace—not the friendliest smile she had ever seen.
