Nicholas drove Rose back to their home, an uncomfortable silence filled the car. It had been a long time since they had seen each other, and the emotions between them were tense and uneasy. Tristan, sat quietly in the backseat, observing the strained atmosphere. He still wasn't able to get over what Nicholas did to his mother.

As they pulled up in front of the house, Tristan's eyes welled up with tears. He witnessed Nicholas mistreat his mother during their brief encounter, he can't forget it. Without saying a word, he ran out of the car and rushed into the house. He didn't want to take another look at Nicholas.

Rose looked after him with concern, feeling guilty for exposing their son to the awkwardness between her and Nicholas. "I'll go talk to him," she said, her voice soft and apologetic.

Nicholas nodded, his own remorse evident on his face. "I should have handled that better," he admitted, regret filling his voice.
