Chapter 111 Soul-Transferring Kasyapa

There are five disciples of Sakyamuni named Kassapa. In the scriptures and treatises, they are called Kassapa alone. They refer to Maha Kassapa and are called Maha Kassapa. When Buddhism gathered the Tripitaka after the death of Sakyamuni, he was the convener and leader. Chinese Zen Buddhism also said that he was the first generation of ancestors to inherit Buddhism and the ancestor of the twenty-eight ancestors of the Western Lands.
