Eve

I wasn't planning on making any enemies today, I in fact, wanted quite the opposite. After four years of careful calculation and planning, I was finally where I wanted to be and I wasn't going let myself fail even before trying.

I was doing well. I could tell from the smile on Sinclair's face, I have always wanted to make an impression on this day and I guess I've made it.

“My apologies, Mrs. Duncan, it wasn't my intention to be rude, but I suppose neither of us would sit back and watch anybody disrespect us. I would like us to be friends given that only our friendship will make this company grow. I say we try this first impression thing again, shall we?”

I knew that by now all eyes were on me but I knew specifically that Richard Reynolds eyes were fixed on me. I turned my eyes to him and saw him staring at me, upon noticing my eyes on him, he swallowed thickly and looked away.

“Uhm,” he cleared his throat as he rubbed his palms down his tie and potbelly, “I don't think

~Eve“We are here,” Sinclair said, bringing me out of my thoughts. I nodded at him and we both got out of the car.Brando had sent an address to one of his restaurants for us to meet that morning. Of course, I was aware of it; we planned everything. Our strategy to collect all that Sinclair owned, especially the company, was in full swing. We walked into the fancy restaurant and after confirming our names, we were brought to a private dining room. Brando was already there so he stood up to greet us as soon as we entered.“Mr Brando, so nice to see you. I was surprised to hear that you sent for me. The last time I remember our most recent transaction had ended very smoothly,” Sinclair said after pleasantries were exchanged and we were seated.Brando chuckled and replied, “You are right Mr Sinclair, I indeed have no issues with our business. I called you to meet someone who is a very good friend of mine. He showed interest in working with you, and I thought it was best to introduce you

~SinclairI sat down on my office chair with a sigh. It was another day, which meant another day to work. I didn't mind it because this was where I worked best. I was proud of how far I and the company had come, it showed that my hard work was paying off. I was really happy and content with my present life. The company was growing well with no scandal or problems, and my marriage was peaceful; what more could I ask for?A knock suddenly came from the door, bringing me out of my thoughts. I told the person to come in, I could already guess it was Anastasia, my assistant. “Good morning, Mr Sinclair,” she greeted as she usually did.“Morning Ana, what do you have for me?” I asked with a nod of acknowledgement. She came closer and dropped some files on my table, “These are today's files that need to be looked into, I arranged them in the order of importance” I took the files and smiled at her, “Thank you, Ana, for always making my work easier. You may leave, I'll look into them” I rep

~EveI closed the restroom door behind me as I stepped into the room. With the sound of water, Mrs Duncan was busy with her business so I just busied myself in washing my hands and checking myself in the mirror.A minute or two later, she stepped out and came to the sink. If she was surprised to see me there, she didn't show it.“Mrs Duncan…” I acknowledged“Mrs Sinclair…” she repeated with a plain voice.“I have a proposal that you will benefit highly from if you join me…” I was saying but she interrupted me.“Ah yes… your cunning plan to go against your husband and claim the company for yourself. I heard about it. You are playing with fire, and if you're not careful, you will get charred,” she said, a knowing smile on her lips. She dried her hands and began to make for the door.I was surprised she already knew about it, but I didn't let the surprise linger. Now I must bring her to my side even more, or she could be a problem for us.So I turned and said, “Since you already know, wh

Eve “Ma’am, your guest has arrived” the waiter announced by the door. “Let her in and bring in the food” I instructed calmly. “Yes, ma'am” the waiter answered and walked away. A minute later, the door opened and my ‘guest’ walked in. It was Clara Evans, the cause of the scandal. I had invited her to lunch at a traditional Korean restaurant because I wanted to speak with her, the special private room provided the privacy I needed. I kept my face straight, bored even and I didn't even spare her a glance as she slowly sat on the ground across from me. She wasn't her hot-tempered self that appeared at my house the previous time, perhaps it was because she knew she had lost the battle. Her scandal had disappeared from everyone's mind and even if she were to spring up again, she won't gain more traction as the people seemed to be in love with the Mr and Mrs Stone chemistry. But then, I wasn't wicked. She had helped me get to where I was as quickly as possible because of her i

Eve It was the anniversary party today. The large beautifully decorated hall housed people from all walks of life. The Stone Capital was having such an extravagant party, who wouldn't dare attend? With how big the event was, it was clear that the Clara scandal was now a thing of the past. The only discussion on everybody's lips was the striking couple, Mr and Mrs Stone. Now that I thought about, the only time I made the news, apart from until I turned twelve, was when I got married to Sinclair. After that, it would seem like I had disappeared from the world because I never really brought myself out, I was hiding in the cloak of a marriage like a captive. “Ready, love?” Sinclair asked beside me as he angled his arm for mine to pass through. He was dressed in a fine French tuxedo and his dark hair was gelled back, he looked dashing in his slightly muscular build. I smiled at him and hooked my arm around his, “always.” I replied. He nodded and we both stepped into the hall fr

  • The Good Wife.   THIRTEEN.

Eve I entered the house with a tired sigh. I have had the most busy day, with the court case, the anniversary and my secret plans. Luckily the court case was easily settled with one visit to the start up company, they were amateurs and was clearly relying on some terrible advise to think that Stone Capital was a pushover. I only had to make a few calls to find some good illegal dealings against them. A little threat and they were shivering and begging for mercy, the court case was immediately revoked and I strutted out of there with a smirk on my face. It was why I told Sinclair not to worry, that I would handle it on my own. I had my own ways and if Sinclair found out, he would be shocked out of his mind. As for Brando Blackwood, he was a done deal already. He was infact very impressed with my proposal and ‘fierceness’ that he said was “Very unexpected”. He has been a long time investor with my husband and has never seen me or heard of me in a broad sense. It was a striking fi
