I sat on the bed waiting for the men to come and remembered what Circe told me about my future and the mysterious man who was my soul mirror. Aisha was adding her two cents worth by telling me he was very handsome and had a limp. I rolled my eyes at her.

"Stop it, Aisha," I scolded out loud and Griffin grinned slightly at me.

"Is your wolf nagging at you too?" He asked curiously and I shrugged.

"Not really, she's just reminding me of what an ash tree nymph said about my soul mirror," I commented. He grinned and mumbled, "twin flames eh? That sounds interesting, want to tell me about it?" I looked at him in a panic and shook my head.

"I'm certain that he's no one that you'd know," I mumbled

"Cyrus just told me Aisha says your mystery mate is tall, dark, devastatingly handsome, and has a limp?" Griffin rubbed his chin in thought when the ATVs could be heard getting closer. He turned toward me and smiled.

"Can't think of anyone like that, even that limp part escapes me," he said sarcasti

I followed after the happy woman into a stunning lounge area and sat down upon a buttery leather couch. A pot of tea was steeping on the coffee table and smelled good."I overheard you at dinner speaking about Zayn Reed and that he was the father of the child you carry," she started and I nodded. Jack poured us both a cup of tea and was hesitant to continue. "Zayn was Griffin's older brother but Griffin was unaware of his existence due to a messy divorce of his parents. He also has a younger sister named Echo," she told me point-blank. I cocked my brow and told her Zayn had blonde hair. Jack laughed and told me he had pink, green, and blue too because he was forever coloring his hair. I took a sip of the tea and Aisha growled softly that I had noticed the two men's similarities."Is it normal to be mates with two siblings?" I asked curiously and she grinned."I believe that your true mates with only one but your estrus can be provoked by a close blood relative." I exhaled deeply and

I headed downstairs and into the foyer. It was mid-afternoon and I felt anxious and wanted to do something. The door opened and Griffin was storming inside with both Scotty and a woman I hadn't met yet. He was hauling them by their necks. Scotty looked up at me terrified and my heart broke."Don't hurt him," I growled menacingly and Griffin eyed me oddly. He rolled his eyes and continued on to his office. Not long after, Davina was pounding erratically on the front door and came inside without being let in. "Where did he take them?" I pointed down the hall and she rushed down it yelling for him to stop whatever he was doing. I shook my head and headed outside and was surprised to see it full of working pack members. It made me miss my home in Colorado. I passed the groups and headed out into the forest. It was a lovely day and the air was clean and crisp. Aisha suggested that we find a place to strip and take a run. I asked why I wasn't experiencing the mate heat and she explained th

I asked what happened to Davina as we pulled up to his home. He looked at me and sighed."She and her girlfriend Monique were intent on getting both you and me out of the way so she could take over the pack. I had my suspicions when I was captured that she was behind it and came to find out that she in fact handed me over during one of my drunken stupors. Good thing I'm not a lush any longer," he said assuredly. I nodded and listened attentively as he continued."I've been informed that there are individuals who have the same gold blood like you and are prized at each of the facilities. For what reason I'm not sure but I do know that the government is mapping how and what venoms were used to create it and they know it first must be human and then a bite by a werewolf hybrid. They're mapping DNA and creating monsters that shouldn't exist in order to find the correct "venom" and it's causing chaos in the world of cryptids. We all live in an order of balance. We have royalty and our own

My eyes started to water. Although I hadn't been close to the pack members, seeing their corpses lying battered amongst the rumble was heart-wrenching. None of the people deserved this and my dislike for the government officials responsible for this burned in my gut. The infirmary was open and survivors were scrambling around with the wounded. I quickly began going to each asking how severe their injuries were. I glanced over at Tarkik and watched him rip his wrist and fill vials with his blood. He looked at me and grinned."Do the same and have them drink, it will heal them faster than surgery," he said sincerely. Since they were all werewolves they're healing abilities were already faster. I told him I'd do that for the injured. I glanced over and gasped seeing Jack. I rushed to her side and asked where Griffin was. She looked at me with tears and shook her head."He's buried under his home," she sobbed and I mouthed no. I ran quickly from the building and up to the crumbled home a

Jack told me to wait and she'd deal with whoever was at the door. I sat at the top of the stairs holding my son as she opened the door. The man that stood there was one of Griffin's previous pack members. Jack and the gentleman spoke kindly to one another and I remained at the top of the stairs and listened. The man, who introduced himself as Stevens, explained that the alpha had been behaving cruelly and needed stability. He looked devastated."What has happened?" Jack asked curiously and Steven explained that the Alpha had grown cold and cruel in my absence. He and his girlfriend have agreed to work with the humans and give them pack members."Once a month, names are drawn and the Hunters come and collect the person. A lot have left him for other packs that we know will take us but some don't have that option," he said sadly. I looked over at Jack, felt horrible for what was happening to the others, and rushed down the stairs with my son."I need to go back and deal with him," I said

The room I was assigned was cute and cozy. They had put in a bassinet for my little one and a changing table that was fully stocked. "They don't use disposables so you're going to have to get used to cloth ones," Jack told me and I said that it was fine. She could see that I was upset and asked what happened. So I told her what Tarkik had said and that I shouldn't have come."From what I've gathered that Sophia has given him a false mate mark and used her venom to make him think that they are mates. Her father is a local pack leader and wants the resources on Tarkik's land. Since you know for certain that you're his true mate, it's only a matter of time when both of your mates' heat comes. You'll need to mark him good so it ruins that Sophia bitches," Jack said firmly and I thanked her.The woman gave us night clothes and I thanked them as I headed into my bathroom to shower. After cleaning myself and feeling refreshed I climbed into bed and fell asleep. I dreamed of what my life sho

My estrus slowly ebbed the further I was from Tarkik. So by the time I was seated in the plane I no longer felt so horny. I glanced over at the hunter trying to tie up my child. Yutu had changed into his dark gray wolf pup and bit the hunter. I was smiling at the adorable little fur ball and when he lifted his leg and peed all over the hunter's foot I laughed loudly. Yutu then rushed to my legs and whined for me to lift him. I showed him my chains and told him I couldn't lift him. A female hunter leaned over and lifted the pup to my lap. I glanced over to the hunter and thanked her."Not all of us are uncaring sobs," she said softly and I nodded. Yutu nestled against me and yawned before curling up and taking a nap. The woman told the male hunter named Justin to go up front and he grunted as he shook his wet foot."He's a cute kid, my name's Raina and I'm a wolf without a pack who is employed by the hunters," the woman said and offered me her hand. "I'm Emma Rockford, female Alpha of

Zurac opened the cabin and I smiled as I entered. The decor was very manly but looked appealing and appropriate."My two children and I can move to another place," he said sincerely and my brow creased as I shook my head."Nonsense, sir. I planned on having all the rooms full and I know there are four and plenty for us all to live peacefully together. Plus I enjoy cooking large meals so it's a win-win for both our families," I told him. He grinned slightly and said, "I do enjoy eating." I laughed and he gestured for me to follow him through the home to show me what he had added. I was pleasantly surprised by the added basement, full of children's toys and a bathroom with a laundry room. "Children create lots of dirty clothing and since Yutu isn't potty trained yet there's going to be lots of diapers to wash," he said assuredly and I glanced up at him and smiled. He placed his large hand on the small of my back and took me upstairs and showed me to my bedroom. It would have been a gues

Zurac's wolf was telling my wolf for us to stay back. I was antsy and was watching Ezra and Noah tag team the one huge creature. I was being pretty entertained until I heard Abby in the distance scolding none other than my little girl who was running full speed as her fire wolf. She passed me and headed to Ezra and his son. I yelled out her name and Noah turned right when the creature swiped him across his chest causing gold spray to cover the ground he fell to. Raven growled ferociously and jumped over Noah's prone body and stomped the ground with her two tiny front paws creating a fire barrier around Noah. Her small wolf guarded him and the flames flickered on her back."Nice form daughter and you already have discovered one of our gifts with the flames. I'm impressed, daughter," Zurac announced proudly and went to help Ezra. Noah leaned back on his elbows watching Raven with narrowed eyes and a devilish grin. His eyes were bright red. Zurac took Ezra outside to speak to him about the once part demon Kenan and show off the compound. I listened attentively to Abby as she discussed going to hell to meet with the actual devil. I glanced over at her son stripping off his shirt and showing his muscles to impress my child. Raven rolled her eyes and was searching for something in the couch cushions. Moments later, Abby and I were startled by a loud yell of ouch. I gasped softly at seeing the end of an obvious fork poking out of Noah's chest. I glanced over at Raven trying to look innocent."Raven, that's not nice," I said sternly and she glared at Noah and told us he was giving her kissy lips. Abby snickered and yanked the utensil out of his flesh. She wiped away the shimmering blood and said,"he heals fast but you shouldn't hurt him too much because it tires him out." Raven headed towards the taller boy and pecked his cheek telling him sorry. His red eyes flashed and he grinned devilishly and told her it was alright. He ma

I smoothed out my clean blouse over my much larger and unfortunately sagging breasts and examined myself in the full length mirror. My wavy chestnut hair fell all the way to my butt. I debated on whether to put it up or not and decided that it would be down after hearing Zurac tell me it was time. I exited the bedroom and glanced up at Zurac."Are we taking the Jeep?" I asked curiously and he eyed me oddly and told me yeah. I smiled and started past him and was surprised by feeling his hand splayed out on the middle of my lower back as we headed outside. I went straight to where Zurac's jeep was and waited for him to unlock the door. We both got settled and Zurac grinned at me."We're going to Biysk and it will be at least an hour drive and I'd like to ask you some questions about your claim of being my mate," he said softly. I grinned slightly and told him of course. I noticed that his eyes were glowing and cleared my throat."Your fire is shining in your eyes, might want to tone it d

Zurac told me he'd prepare Raven a bottle when it was time for her feeding and I thanked him. He nodded and left me in the room. I laid Raven on the bed and grabbed the landline phone within the room. I dialed the operator to get connected to the USA and asked for the Relruz hotel in Vegas. Thirty minutes later I was on hold waiting for Abby to answer. Once she got on she screamed into my ear."You're not dead," she squealed and I told her everything that had happened."Well shit Em, cook for the man," she suggested and I laughed."You never had a problem getting a man, just keeping them," she told me truthfully and I groaned. She told me her and Ezra were going to visit and she'd help me kick Zurac's dumb butt. I chuckled softly and told her I needed to do it the way the moon goddess wanted in order to get Aisha back but was thankful for her friendship and advice. "Hang in there hun, you're a very beautiful and amazing woman and if he can't see that then it's truly his loss," she mum

Kenan shook his head at me."I'm human too and can see your resemblance to you when you had your wolf. Wolves go by scent and with your wolf gone you smell just like every other human in the world," he told me frankly and I scowled. My vision was so blurry I just wanted to cry. I gritted my teeth seeing through blurry vision the lovely woman I knew was Monica, nursing my child. I stomped my foot, having enough of this bullshit. "I demand an audience with the Alpha and you as well, Raina. I know your mate was Scotty the Adlet and I know I had golden blood that was unique and took gifts of those not naturally born. I'm Emma, the blind, fatter, dumpier human version but nonetheless still Emma Rockford. Ask me anything and I'll answer," I said firmly and Raina rolled her eyes and told us to get into the shed along with the rogue. We were shoved inside and I heard the door lock and cursed bitterly. Clasping my fists I started doing jumping jacks in place because of my insecurities."What

"I'm Kenan Thorpe and my associate is Seth Jackson. Thank you for the brief meal and please don't run off. I would hate to terminate you doctor Rockford," the white-haired man said. I clenched my teeth and looked up at him and realized that his irises were very odd and goat-like. "You've heard of me?" I questioned him and he looked at me like I was daft."Of course doctor. You were one of our lesson studies and one of the highly wanted individuals by the world's military because your blood is very unique and could eliminate the entire project which ironically fell apart irregardless," he mumbled sourly. Seth ran his fingers through his thinning sable hair and surprised me by saying that Kenan was mixed with the DNA of some demon named Ezra. I snickered at that and he eyed me angrily. I cocked my brow and smiled."My mate carries a demon fire wolf and my best friend is marrying Ezra, I'm far from impressed and hardly terrified. Especially when my mate who is Alpha follows my scent and

The reality of my life was that it was surrounded by heartache and unfortunate death. I feared for Zurac since all my other mates had met untimely endings. Yutu loved the man like his own father and he and Aiden had grown extremely close. The pair would run off together, learning things from hunting to farming. Today they were going to learn about skinning and tanning hides. I held my protruding belly as I watched the plane landing on the runway. Raina and Eric were coming for a visit. I covered my laugh at seeing Raina's bigger belly and Eric dotting on her. It was obvious that he loved her and the moon goddess should allow them to be mates. They both had retired from the hunters and had taken half of the captives for their pack. Raina wobbled towards me and we attempted to awkwardly hug each other, but our baby bumps were in the way."Eric proposed and I said yes," she said excitedly and showed me her shiny rock."Abby's getting married after she has her baby and I have mine. Zurac and I waited for Raina. Thankfully she'd been at the Dulce facility and would be here soon. A buzzing sound filled the air and Mortas pressed a button on an intercom on the wall. The bartender said there was a woman downstairs for her brother. "Send her up," he ordered and grinned at us. The door opened and Raina waltzed inside with her black hair falling loosely down her back. She looked lovely. Her green eyes raked the room and fell on Scotty. I watched as the Adlet jumped up and rushed to her. She fell back as he tackled her and started licking her face. I snickered as what Circe told me about Rain being associated with Scotty's mate made sense. Zurac grunted and was about to get up and I stopped him by pulling his arm."They're mates, leave them be," I said softly and he eyed me perplexed."So your baby daddy is going to be my sister's mate? He attempted to smile and groaned instead."Can your wolf heal you?" I asked frantically and he closed his eyes and shook his head. Aisha sighed and told me it appeared as if he no longer had his wolf or his Adlet, he was just an ordinary human. I ran my hand down his cheek and turned to Zurac."He can't heal, he no longer has any supernatural gifts," I told him and he exhaled deeply and told us to wait a moment. I watched him head towards the plane and yell out for the demon couple. I watched Grace heading toward us and furrowed my brow when she raised her hands and pressed them onto Tarkik's back.
