Rebecca and Aurora sat in the VIP room of Dawson Restaurant. In front of them was a long table where waiters carefully placed the restaurant’s finest dishes.

“Now, tell me everything, Aurora,” Rebecca said, leaning forward with interest. “It’s been, what? Five years?”

Aurora sighed, nodding. “Yes. Five years… and now I’m back.”

Rebecca chuckled. “Well, you shouldn’t have left in the first place.” She waved her hand dismissively before her expression turned serious. “Alright, enough stalling. Who was that woman back there?”

Aurora shook her head before launching into her story. She told Rebecca everything—how she had left her family, how she had trusted Ethan, only to be betrayed in the worst possible way. The cheating, the lies, everything. She spoke as they waited for the food to be served.

Rebecca slammed her hands on the table in frustration. “I knew it! I knew that man was a walking red flag! Ugh, this is so frustrating!”

Aurora grinned. Rebecca had always seen through Ethan, even

The food tasting had finally come to an end. Aurora leaned back in her chair, feeling full but satisfied. The menu for the wedding was set, and everything had gone smoother than she expected.Rebecca, ever the perfectionist, had insisted on only the finest dishes. And to top it all off, she had asked the waiter to bring out the most expensive bottle of wine the restaurant had to offer.“To celebrate,” Rebecca had said with a smirk, raising her glass.Aurora had laughed but played along, clinking her glass with hers. Even Lucian, usually composed and unreadable, had taken a sip without complaint.“Alright,” Rebecca finally said, checking the time on her phone. “I have another meeting, so I have to go.” She turned to Aurora, a knowing smile playing on her lips. “But you, my dear best friend, are free for the evening. No plans, right?”Aurora narrowed her eyes. “What are you up to?”Rebecca shrugged innocently. “Nothing. Just making sure Lucian doesn’t have any excuses not to take you ou

Aurora and Lucian finished their meal but decided to stay for a while longer, savoring their wine.“You haven’t told me much about yourself, Mr. Blackwood. Where are your parents?” Aurora asked, genuinely curious. When they first met, Lucian wasn’t with his family. Even when she had searched for him through Red, his parents weren’t listed.Lucian fell silent for a moment, and his expression shifted, his eyes growing distant. There was hesitation in his gaze. Aurora noticed the change but saw his face quickly settle back into a neutral mask.“They’re already dead. I never had the chance to meet them.”Aurora’s mouth dropped open in surprise. “Oh, I’m so sorry. I… I didn’t mean to bring up something painful.”Lucian smiled softly. “It’s okay. I’ve moved on.”Aurora exhaled, trying to process the information. “But, who’s with you now?”“I was adopted when I was five,” Lucian continued, his voice steady. “Since then, he’s been like a father to me. Aurora returned to their table, the air around her now thick with tension. She sat down across from Lucian, who immediately noticed the shift in her demeanor.“Aurora, is everything alright?” Lucian asked, his voice low with concern. His eyes scanned her face, trying to read what was wrong.Aurora forced a smile, masking the turmoil inside. She didn’t want to bring the conversation about Ethan and everything that had happened back into the evening. Not now. Not with Lucian.“I’m fine,” she replied, her voice steady but distant. “Just a little tired, that’s all.”Lucian seemed to accept her answer, though the doubt lingered in his eyes. He didn’t press further, but he continued to watch her quietly, perhaps sensing that something wasn’t quite right. They finished their drinks, the silence between them growing heavier. The rest of the evening felt like it was happening in slow motion, with the clinking of glasses and soft chatter from other patrons fading into the background. Nothing ma

"Ms. Lancaster, Mr. Calloway is at the lobby again. Demanding to see you."Aurora looked up from her documents, her gaze landing on Beth, her human secretary. A smirk tugged at the corner of her lips as she placed the papers down and leaned back in her chair.Ethan had been relentless. Over the past few weeks, he had repeatedly tried to get close to her, each time under the pretense of business. But Aurora knew better. He wanted more than just a business partnership. He wanted control."What does he need this time?" she asked lazily, twirling a pen between her fingers.Beth sighed, clearly unimpressed. "He wants to discuss a project with you. Says it’s urgent."Aurora rolled her eyes. "Of course, it’s urgent." She took a moment before making her decision. "Fine. Send him to the meeting room. I’ll come when I’m done here."Beth nodded. "Right away, Ma’am."Aurora watched as her secretary left the office, then let out a small chuckle. Ethan was persistent—desperate, even. It was almost

Aurora stood before the vast glass window of her new office, the city lights below twinkling like stars captured in the night sky. The weight of the past few weeks settled on her shoulders—not with exhaustion, but with a deep, undeniable satisfaction. Lancaster Tech Innovations was back. And it was hers. She had spent countless hours undoing the damage her uncle had inflicted. One by one, she reinstated the talented employees he had unjustly fired—those who had once made LTI the powerhouse it used to be. She personally oversaw the restructuring of departments, making sure that no trace of Mario’s corruption remained. The siphoned funds? Retrieved. The reputation? Slowly, but steadily, being rebuilt. Now, Lancaster Tech Innovations was no longer a crumbling empire. It was standing tall again, its doors wide open to the public. And tonight, the world would witness its rebirth.A grand reopening gala had been arranged in her honor, marking her official return as CEO. It wasn’t just a par

Too much was at stake for her to waste any time. She needed to understand exactly what was happening within the company. She took out her tablet from her bag and put on her earpiece. The screen flickered to life, and soon, Red’s animated emoji face appeared.“Hello, Master! Do you need something?” Red’s lively voice chimed through the speakers.Aurora nodded. “Yes. Can you connect to LTI’s system?”“Of course, Master! It’s easy! Do you want me to proceed?”“Go on.”The screen shifted, displaying a series of flashing codes and security bypasses. Within moments, Red had successfully hacked into LTI’s system, granting Aurora access to everything—internal files, financial reports, and even t
