In just a few minutes, Sylvie lost her advantage against Frank and was caught on the backfoot. Not only did she lose a rook, a knight, and a bishop, but she also had to move most of her pieces back around her king.

"Amazing!" Alda raised a thumbs-up as she watched, surprised that Frank was good at chess too.

Frank chuckled. "She can bully a noob like you, but anyone good enough would be able to destroy her."

Sylvie scowled in silence—she was the county amateur champ too! Even if it was not a serious competition, there were good players whom Sylvie had crushed in minutes too.

She did not expect to meet her match today and prove so defenseless against him too. In fact, she had the feeling that she might not necessarily win even if Frank was not taking it seriously.

"Alright, I surrender." She sighed, as Frank had cornered her while keeping a relatively solid defense around his king.
