It's a bright and snowy morning but I feel horrible. I put both of my hands on the side of the sink, breathing heavily. The vomiting would not stop. I often feel lightheaded even when I just rested all day.
Ambrose said that I'll feel better if I take the pills and rest. So I did that in the past few days yet I haven't felt any better.
I stared at the tray of food on my bedside table. I have no appetite but then if I don’t eat, my body will be weak. So I have no choice but to grab the tray and start eating. I have to stay alive if I want to recover my memories.
There’s still a part of me that believes that I can remember an
Just as I let out an exasperating breath, the wind flew across my face. My hair was being blown by the wind, each strand felt ticklish against my pale, and porcelain skin. I was again feeling lonesome on the castle’s roof with no one to talk to. It’s been weeks again, days have passed so fast.It seems as if all of them felt distant and oddly cold just like the snow in Emberton. Unlike these thick clothes that give me comfort and warmth, the vampires here were the exact opposite.Last night, I was awake the whole time and I am sure as hell that it was not a nightmare that I saw. I was just simply sitting at the edge of my bed, staring at the window. I was admiring the full moon and the stars that seem to only appear when I
The castle appeared to be quieter without Gideon around. I just found out that Sage is no longer available since he had been busy with tending to his sick mother. I was left with the three silent ones so here I am in my room, lying in bed. So much for not being dead yet. This feels like torture!I’m here on the bed lying while staring at the ceiling, wondering who the hell that elderly woman was. I felt it; the rage in me was just uncontrollable. Seeing her being tortured and burned made me livid. I may not remember exactly what happened but I remember the emotions I felt. The worst part was I could not even do anything to save her.I got up from my bed when I heard a knock. Only half of my body is covered in duvet. I leaned bac
I was back in my room, at the town of Emberton. Sweating profusely, I felt like my body was burning up. Was that really one of those nightmares? It's so strange. I don't even recognize them, the people inside my head. There was smoke covering the room. I can smell something burning. I looked around and saw that the room was dark, really dark that I couldn't see a thing. I can only feel the soft, warm sheets beneath me.I let out a cough; the smell of smoke suffocates my lungs. I tried to touch my surroundings, hoping I would get a hold of something useful, like a lamp.“Where is the lamp when you need it?” I mum
The howl of the cold wind made my skin shiver as I yelped from my sleep. I looked around in panic to see where I was. It was wet beneath my feet, my knees shivering to stay up. I was panting but all I inhaled was the horrid smell of moss and decay. My sight landed on the metal bars across me, they were rusty and old. Now, I’m sure that I am locked up in the basement inside one of the cells.“Help me!” A weak voice whimpered, her soft voice echoed inside the cold room.I narrowed my eyes to see clearly whose voice was that. My sight was blurry for a moment, I couldn’t recognize a thing. I blinked twice to let my sight adjust and there, I saw who it was.
Red strands embraced me with warmth and her soft whispers of comfort. Beneath me lay the coldness of the grass and dew. I inhaled the fresh, cool air along with her sweet scent. The fog wasn’t enough to block my view of her sympathetic look. Her pale, porcelain skin contrasted her blood red hair.“You won’t remember a thing once you wake up, my dear sister,” Her murmurs were like soft howls of the wind, breathy and mellow so different from her personality. My legs shivered at the wet ground, “Why are you helping me? I have committed a sin, Fallon.” I paused, suddenly out of air.I watched her blink innocen
The sound of metal swinging made me jolt in surprise. I could almost hear my heart racing so fast. My sight bore at Sage who was pushing the cell door open. On his grip was a tray of food, the smell of egg and bacon filled my nostrils. He fed me again and made me drink water. It turns out that the violet fluid is some kind of a drug to weaken my abilities. It also makes my body low in energy. Sage has told me that they had to drug me to keep my powers controlled but I knew better not to believe them; they were only feeding me lies. After Sage fed me up, he locked my cell again. A few seconds later, I heard his footsteps approaching the stairs into the castle.
A week had passed like a blur, they collected two bags of my blood each day and every day Sage would provide me with human food to gain back my energy in order to produce more blood. I was living no less of an animal in a cage. It’s been days, I lost count. My life is coming to an end, I could feel it. I am slowly losing my powers. I can barely heal myself from the bruises and open cuts made by these sharp chunks of metals wrapped around my skin.My bones are already visible; my skin is now filled with wrinkles like an aging human. I can barely see clearly, the surroundings appeared to be blurry and dark. I presume my eyeballs have shrunk into my sockets by now. I probably look like shit.I licked my cracked, dry lips and swallowed the lump
I woke up in silence because of the strong pulsing of my head and the aching of every muscle in my body. A groan escaped my lips as my gaze landed on my body. I was covered in a soft, thick duvet that has gold, laced designs on it that makes it look so expensive. The bed was soft and comfortable; it made me want to sleep more. With my lips parted in awe, I glanced at the interior of the room. There was a crystal chandelier hanging at thecenterof the ceiling. The walls were high and painted in beige. There’s a wooden closet and some statues as decorations. The ambiance screamed of extravagance. No running rats and flying roaches here, only the still silence and chirping of birds right outside the huge, parted door which I assume
It was early in the cold morning. The ballroom is packed with tables and chairs as well as food and wine, not to mention a huge jar of blood for the vampire guests. The servants are everywhere in the castle with trays of something in their hands. “Rosamund, wake up.” I said softly, brushing a finger on her cheek. Her eyes opened instantly, “It’s time, isn’t it?” “Happy birthday, my sweet rose.” I smiled “Thank you, mother.” She sat up and hugged me tightly. I helped her get ready for the day. She went to the tub for a relaxing dip. I scattered rose petals in her bath as well seeing she also likes r
The moment we stepped foot outside the dungeon, I sighed in relief. It was suffocating there and I could barely breathe. Cassius placed a hand on my back as we walked back to our chamber.“You haven’t told me,” I bit the inside of my cheek. I may be a bit nosy to ask this but I needed to know.“Told you what?” He didn’t even glance at me. He knew what I was talking about but he won’t say a thing about it.“About what happened between you and Ambrose,” The moment those words escaped my lips, I saw a flash of displeasure in his emerald eyes. His lips pursed as his jaw moved.“Ambrose was myhalf brother. We
“But you have no control yet,” He said with a warning tone.I simply ignored him and made my way down the stairs towards the dungeon. My heels clacking against the stone ground. I wore a strapped, pale green maxi dress that was cut just above my ankles.I hear Cassius follow behind me. According to him, the dungeon is located at the very bottom of the castle and there are about six floors. The dungeon is hidden and no one knows about it except for the royal family and some few servants that guard the place. The castle dungeon only imprisoned selected people. While on the other hand, there is also another dungeon located at the east but that is a place for all criminals aroundSyrr.
The sky is almost dark, only the shades of orange and pink can be seen. The moon is out already. Vienna and I got back to the castle walking side by side. We would not want to be late for dinner. The Queen is strict when it comes to dinner and no one wants to anger the Queen ofSyrr. The huge double doors to the dining hall busted open as soon as the servant saw us. The long table is a feast as usual. The King is also present tonight. Cassius tapped the seat next to him and smiled at me.Vienna walked to the seat next to Rose while I sat next to Cassius. After a while we started eating in silence. I guess I can say that I’m used to it, the awkward silence in the room while we eat. I figured they just eat that way. Cassius told me it’s a sign of disrespect if we eat while talking.
“Cassius!” I groaned as I pulled my body out of his arms. I stood up with the sheets wrapped around me. I walked to his closet and picked a fresh set of clothing.“Come back to bed,” Cassius' soft tone made me smirk. This man, really! He’s insatiable. We’ve been up all night and now he can’t get his hands off of me.“I have somewhere else to be and I already told you that,” Once I’ve finished changing, I grab the hair brush to fix my hair.“Where? Is it important?” He leaned back on the headboard, only his lower body being covered by white sheets. Now his torso is exposed I can’t help but to take a quick glance at his ripped abs.&nb
“So where do you want to go next?” He asked, staring at me with his pretty emeralds.I pressed my lip, “Hm, I don’t know. Since we went to myfavoriteplace, maybe we can go to yourfavoriteplace. Do you have afavoriteplace?”“Should we go to mylakehouse?”My eyes widened, “You have alakehouse?”He nodded, “I do, it was a gift from my father when I was little. Vienna and Damon used to accompany me here during the summer. Vee would lie to my father telling him that we’ll be training by the lake but we’ll most likely be bathing.” He chuckled to himsel
The breakfast ended after the Queen left the dining hall. Cassius led me outside the castle and into the forest like he promised. He wouldn’t want to break his promise, right? I may have also added some things to do on our so-called date and gladly he agreed.“So where to?” I asked him, looking around the woods.“This way,” He pulled my hand to the far east of the forest. After a couple of minutes speeding up, we arrived at the place. It really is wonderful here. There’s a ruin and half of it has already turned to huge pieces of stones on the snowy ground. You can see the interior from here. Nature has alr
It was early in the morning when my bedroom door busted open revealing Rosamund with a smile stretched on her lips. Her wavy hair fell down her waist elegantly, swaying along with her beige dress that fell shortly at her ankle.“Good morning, mother!” She greeted me with a cheerful tone.A chuckle escaped my lips when she jumped onto my bed beside me. I raised the duvet to let her in under the warm sheets. I heard her giggle and moved closely towards me.“Morning to you too, princess.” I replied with a smile.A s
I saw two men dragging Rosamund by her arms. There were six of them in this narrow alley. The fact that these vampires dare to even touch Rose made my blood boil instantly.“Rosamund!” I called, struggling to wiggle my arms from this man’s grip. There were two men with me. The other man was busy tailing us, a cigar placed between his fingers; he looked younger than his friends. He was a look out, watching people who pass the alley making sure no one dares to walk in.“Quiet!” The stranger exclaimed, extremely pissed.I glared at him when his grip tightened even more. If only I had my power right now, this
