Coming here at the balcony at this time of the night is scary. The howling out in the woods made it even scarier. Why did I come here in the first place?
“Up here,” Someone said from behind me.
I turned around to see Izaac on the rooftop. I didn’t know it was safe to climb up there. If I knew that would be my new favourite spot here in the castle but there is no safe spot for Izaac, is there? The roof is too steep; it is dangerous.
“Is it safe?”
Izaac stared at me, “If I said no,
So his name is Cassius Baltimore huh? What is the prince doing hunting in Emberton when he lives far away from our area? I’m pretty sure he has people serving him with blood and all. It’s just strange.Maybe, I was just mistaken. The Cassius I met in the woods and the prince must’ve been two different people. It must be all a coincidence, right? But hell, the resemblance is uncanny.“Can I come?” I asked Izaac when he mentioned they have a plan to hunt tomorrow morning.“That’s up to Ambrose.” He clicked his tongue and smiled at me.&nb
The blinding rays of the sun peeked through the white curtains. Oh, great! It hasn’t even been that long since I felt my eyelids closed. Did I even sleep? I feel like I spent hours thinking. The sun has risen and the birds have awakened and yet here I am feeling sleepy and tired. Izaac never left my mind and I cringe at myselfeverytimethat scene suddenly popped up in my head. He kissed me. It felt like a dream but I know it wasn't. I wish it was just one of those nightmares. I feel bad. Izaac has a girlfriend. What would Heather think of me? “Rise and shine, Feyre!” I heard Sage behind the door, he knocked after
Upon walking on an endless hall, I can’t help but to think of what happened yesterday on the hunt. My heart was beating so fast I felt like it would explode. That fear is so consuming and just frightening, it’s inevitable. Even though I am sure that Izaac won’t let something bad happen to me, I still feared him that night. What if he lost control? I would’ve been dead. Well, both of us because my blood could also kill him.So I wanted to make a weapon for myself. No one knows what will happen in the future. I want to make sure I’ll be able to stay here without feeling anxious. On my way to my room, I locked the door once I got in. Smiling at the dagger on my hand, I stood in front of the bathroom sink. I raised the d
There's a lot going on today considering today is a big day for all people, dare I say vampires. It is the royal grand ball! Can you believe that? Yep. A vampire ball is a thing.Sage bought me a formal dress to wear to the event. It is a long, white strapped dress that falls elegantly on the ankle. The tiny gems glimmer when hit by the moonlight; beautiful is an understatement. It looks simple, just the way I like it.I stared at myself in the bathroom mirror, mouth gaping in awe. I look pretty decent. I did a crown braid for my hair with little strands falling on the sides in my attempt to look a little refined. And finally, I strapped the
“Cassius?” I mumbled out of curiosity. The tall man turned to me and for the second time, I saw those emerald orbs again. He’s actually here. I wasn’t mistaken then? The man in the woods and the man Izaac showed me that night on the roof, they’re the same.“Feyre,” His eyes lit up and his lips slightly parted. He must be as surprised as I am. “You’re here.” Cassius blinked.“Feyre, have you met my brother?” Vienna asked, eyeing us with playfulness.
“Bastard,” Izaac growled.Gallo started to laugh like crazy, running a hand over his gray, almost white hair. Those same red eyes glistened with hunger and lividness, the look of a killer.“Izaac Lucas,” His tongue licked his lower lip, playfully.Izaac pushed me backwards, his head fixed on the man in front of us. I took a few steps back until I hit something hard, a tree bark. My fingers were shaking as I looked down to get my dagger on my thigh.“What do you want?” Izaac&rsq
A sudden burst of wind came from behind. The trees swayed because of the blast of air, dead leaves flew a few feet off the ground. The forest only keeps getting darker as the sun finally disappears.I checked his breathing and it was slow. He’s barely breathing! A sob escapes from my parted lips as I look at Izaac on my arm.“What happened?” Asked the baritone, stern voice.“Please help him!” I begged whoever was standing behind me.Light footsteps came forward. My head rose and I sa
“It’s cold, wear this.” Gideon handed me a rugged, brown cloak. After tying the cloak around my chest, he helped me get to the seat on Fergus’ back. Yep, the horse’s name is Fergus. It has long, silver hair; his skin is like thecolorof ashes.Gideon sat behind me. I didn’t know Gideon owns a horse. I’m surprised there’s even a horse in the area knowing this is a town of vampires. I guess they use horses for transportation as well.“The market is not that far. We can return before sunset.” Gideon reassured. I can already sense his wide smile even though
It was early in the cold morning. The ballroom is packed with tables and chairs as well as food and wine, not to mention a huge jar of blood for the vampire guests. The servants are everywhere in the castle with trays of something in their hands. “Rosamund, wake up.” I said softly, brushing a finger on her cheek. Her eyes opened instantly, “It’s time, isn’t it?” “Happy birthday, my sweet rose.” I smiled “Thank you, mother.” She sat up and hugged me tightly. I helped her get ready for the day. She went to the tub for a relaxing dip. I scattered rose petals in her bath as well seeing she also likes r
The moment we stepped foot outside the dungeon, I sighed in relief. It was suffocating there and I could barely breathe. Cassius placed a hand on my back as we walked back to our chamber.“You haven’t told me,” I bit the inside of my cheek. I may be a bit nosy to ask this but I needed to know.“Told you what?” He didn’t even glance at me. He knew what I was talking about but he won’t say a thing about it.“About what happened between you and Ambrose,” The moment those words escaped my lips, I saw a flash of displeasure in his emerald eyes. His lips pursed as his jaw moved.“Ambrose was myhalf brother. We
“But you have no control yet,” He said with a warning tone.I simply ignored him and made my way down the stairs towards the dungeon. My heels clacking against the stone ground. I wore a strapped, pale green maxi dress that was cut just above my ankles.I hear Cassius follow behind me. According to him, the dungeon is located at the very bottom of the castle and there are about six floors. The dungeon is hidden and no one knows about it except for the royal family and some few servants that guard the place. The castle dungeon only imprisoned selected people. While on the other hand, there is also another dungeon located at the east but that is a place for all criminals aroundSyrr.
The sky is almost dark, only the shades of orange and pink can be seen. The moon is out already. Vienna and I got back to the castle walking side by side. We would not want to be late for dinner. The Queen is strict when it comes to dinner and no one wants to anger the Queen ofSyrr. The huge double doors to the dining hall busted open as soon as the servant saw us. The long table is a feast as usual. The King is also present tonight. Cassius tapped the seat next to him and smiled at me.Vienna walked to the seat next to Rose while I sat next to Cassius. After a while we started eating in silence. I guess I can say that I’m used to it, the awkward silence in the room while we eat. I figured they just eat that way. Cassius told me it’s a sign of disrespect if we eat while talking.
“Cassius!” I groaned as I pulled my body out of his arms. I stood up with the sheets wrapped around me. I walked to his closet and picked a fresh set of clothing.“Come back to bed,” Cassius' soft tone made me smirk. This man, really! He’s insatiable. We’ve been up all night and now he can’t get his hands off of me.“I have somewhere else to be and I already told you that,” Once I’ve finished changing, I grab the hair brush to fix my hair.“Where? Is it important?” He leaned back on the headboard, only his lower body being covered by white sheets. Now his torso is exposed I can’t help but to take a quick glance at his ripped abs.&nb
“So where do you want to go next?” He asked, staring at me with his pretty emeralds.I pressed my lip, “Hm, I don’t know. Since we went to myfavoriteplace, maybe we can go to yourfavoriteplace. Do you have afavoriteplace?”“Should we go to mylakehouse?”My eyes widened, “You have alakehouse?”He nodded, “I do, it was a gift from my father when I was little. Vienna and Damon used to accompany me here during the summer. Vee would lie to my father telling him that we’ll be training by the lake but we’ll most likely be bathing.” He chuckled to himsel
The breakfast ended after the Queen left the dining hall. Cassius led me outside the castle and into the forest like he promised. He wouldn’t want to break his promise, right? I may have also added some things to do on our so-called date and gladly he agreed.“So where to?” I asked him, looking around the woods.“This way,” He pulled my hand to the far east of the forest. After a couple of minutes speeding up, we arrived at the place. It really is wonderful here. There’s a ruin and half of it has already turned to huge pieces of stones on the snowy ground. You can see the interior from here. Nature has alr
It was early in the morning when my bedroom door busted open revealing Rosamund with a smile stretched on her lips. Her wavy hair fell down her waist elegantly, swaying along with her beige dress that fell shortly at her ankle.“Good morning, mother!” She greeted me with a cheerful tone.A chuckle escaped my lips when she jumped onto my bed beside me. I raised the duvet to let her in under the warm sheets. I heard her giggle and moved closely towards me.“Morning to you too, princess.” I replied with a smile.A s
I saw two men dragging Rosamund by her arms. There were six of them in this narrow alley. The fact that these vampires dare to even touch Rose made my blood boil instantly.“Rosamund!” I called, struggling to wiggle my arms from this man’s grip. There were two men with me. The other man was busy tailing us, a cigar placed between his fingers; he looked younger than his friends. He was a look out, watching people who pass the alley making sure no one dares to walk in.“Quiet!” The stranger exclaimed, extremely pissed.I glared at him when his grip tightened even more. If only I had my power right now, this
