Chapter 339

Author: Jason Chord
Winter kept piloting the submarine, searching for something.

At first, Gideon was full of excitement, marveling at the deep-sea scenery. But over time, he grew tired of it. Eventually, he began meditating to maintain his peak condition.

He had no idea how much time had passed. It seemed Winter intentionally avoided activating any time-tracking devices to keep him from growing impatient. Still, he estimated that two days had already gone by.

"Come quick!" Suddenly, Winter's shout snapped Gideon out of his meditation.

He got up, walked over, and looked outside. His eyes widened instantly.

In the waters ahead stood a massive black portal. It was wide and seemingly endless in height because the light couldn't reach its top. The sight was overwhelming.

Bathed in the eerie green glow of the surroundings, paired with the oppressive atmosphere, the portal resembled the gates of hell, making Gideon's skin crawl.

However, Winter was ecstatic. "We're so lucky! The route was correct."

"Die!" Winter shouted sharply. In an instant, the submarine shook violently, and a powerful energy beam shot out. Like a bolt of lightning, it pierced through the seawater. In a mere moment, it struck the sea beast. The previously indestructible scales now seemed as fragile as paper, offering no defense whatsoever. The scales were pierced through. Then, its flesh. The massive body was directly penetrated by the energy beam, leaving a ten-foot-wide hole. Blood spurted out, and the sea beast howled in pain. However, it wasn't over yet. The residual energy within its body wreaked havoc, destroying the sea beast's internal organs. In Gideon's line of sight, the beast's enormous and mangled body thrashed about, churning the seawater while letting out an ear-piercing wail that seemed to cut into one's eardrums."What a terrifying power!" He was astonished. He wouldn't have stood a chance if he had faced that Particle Cannon. What an incredible feat of advanced technology."Bloodboun

Winter didn't argue and nodded. "Fine. That leaves the other half. If we can slay another sea beast with an inner core, two inner cores should be enough to satisfy you.""I'm looking forward to it."Gideon realized that the inner core of a sea beast was indeed highly beneficial for cultivation. Such treasures were the more, the merrier. However, relying solely on himself in the depths of the ocean to hunt a top-tier sea beast with an inner core was extremely difficult. Moreover, the Particle Cannon wasn't something that could be fired without limitation. Therefore, Gideon could only fantasize about obtaining another inner core without truly expecting it.The submarine continued moving forward. A flush of excitement appeared on Winter's pale face, the color a reflection of her emotions.Gideon was deeply curious. What could possibly be in these depths to make her so eager?"We're here."It was unclear how much time had passed when Winter's shout snapped Gideon out of his meditat

Gideon and Winter didn't have much time. The isolation suits only lasted ten minutes, with a maximum limit of fifteen. This meant Gideon and Winter had to complete their mission within that short window. Thus, the situation was urgent. The two quickly swam toward the central palace. It was an ancient bronze hall, incredibly well-preserved. Even after countless years submerged in seawater, it showed no signs of decay, still looking majestic. It was a miracle and truly a world marvel. But now wasn't the time for Gideon to marvel at it. He and Winter reached the grand hall's doors and began pushing them open. However, due to the immense pressure from the seawater, opening the doors wasn't easy."Over here," Winter said. She found a window, the only viable entry point. With a sharp shout, Gideon unleashed his peak strength, tearing apart the bronze bars of the window. The two squeezed through and entered.Unexpectedly, inside the ancient bronze hall was a bright light that illumi

Winter returned to the submarine. She removed her isolation suit, her heartbeat pounding like a drum. She didn't leave immediately but instead stared at the ancient ruins for a long time. Still, there was no sign of Gideon. She let out a heavy sigh. For a rare genius to fall, it was a loss to lament. But she had to do it. Otherwise, she would never have obtained the inheritance scroll."I will build a tomb for you and visit it every year. Gideon, I will remember you," she murmured to herself. Then, she piloted the submarine away from the ruins. Not long after she left, a sea beast slowly emerged from the ruins."Purus Cordus.""Calm the heart like still water; let the still water reflect the heart."A gentle breeze brings no ripple; serenity remains unperturbed."Sitting alone among the bamboo trees, as the long cry of the zither resonates."When entering a meditative silence, even a venomous dragon must retreat."With a heart unclouded, the heavens reward diligence."With

Winter was extremely anxious. The number of sea beasts was increasing, and the danger was growing ever direr. She had to make the most of what little time she had left to escape. Moreover, the submarine's energy supply wasn't infinite."One hour. The submarine can only last for one more hour. Once the power runs out, it'll be nothing but a heap of scrap metal." She gritted her teeth. To her credit, her piloting skills were exceptional. Despite the relentless pursuit and blockade by the sea beasts, she managed to escape through narrow gaps each time, every maneuver thrilling and perilous.Suddenly, more sea beasts arrived. The number now exceeded 20, and Winter's expression turned grim. Her palms were slick with cold sweat. Finally, at a certain moment, one sea beast's tail struck the submarine. She screamed. The submarine shook violently. Although its defenses were formidable, damage had been sustained, and many internal systems shut down. Then, another hit followed. The first

"It's not like that. I…""You what?" Gideon mocked. "What excuse could you possibly come up with? Isn't this the truth?"Winter was rendered speechless."Even if you had just told me in advance about the frenzy poison, I could've prepared for it. Let's say you didn't want to tell me because you were afraid I'd back out."You could've at least let me take an inner core with me or warned me not to leave the sea beast's inner core in the submarine."With the inner core, wouldn't I have had a better chance of surviving? And yet, what did you do? Nothing!"You wanted me dead, and you even planned to take the inner core for yourself. Tell me. Do you have any objections when I call you a venomous woman with a stone-cold heart?"Winter pressed her lips together, unable to respond.Gideon's tone turned icy. "For someone who wanted me dead, I'll just return the favor."Winter panicked. "Wait! Listen to me!""Oh? What could you possibly have to say? Do you think you can convince me to l

Gideon opened the hatch. He had already sensed the location of the inner core because the overwhelming, pure life energy it emitted radiated an irresistible allure. However, he needed to exercise extreme caution.Inside the beast's stomach, the highly corrosive gastric acid could dissolve even steel in moments. This was precisely why the beast had tossed the submarine straight into its mouth."Get ready," Gideon reminded Winter. "When I tear through the flesh to extract the inner core, the king of sea beasts will definitely sense it and go berserk. You'll need to seize the opportunity to fire the energy cannon. Find a weak point and blast our way out.""Understood," Winter responded. She inspected the submarine. Although it was slightly damaged, the energy cannon was still operational."We only have one shot," she added. "Energy is running low. We still need enough power to escape the deep sea and ascend the abyss. We can't afford to burn it all here."Gideon nodded. He took a d

"Not good! A lot of sea beasts are tailing us!" Winter's face turned pale.Gideon asked, "Can't we speed up? Do we not have enough energy?""Our energy is limited. This is the maximum speed," she replied, her voice full of unease. If the situation continued to develop this way, the sea beasts would catch up and surround them in ten minutes."What are you doing?"Suddenly, Winter noticed Gideon holding a dagger and walking toward the hatch.Startled, she shouted, but he ignored her. He opened the hatch and slashed his wrist. Immediately, blood spurted out. What was strange was that his blood had traces of black in it, looking ominous.Winter covered her mouth in shock, unable to believe what she was seeing.Moments later, Gideon closed the hatch and tended to his wound. After releasing a third of his blood, his face was pale and devoid of color. He looked extremely weak. However, this was the only way to stop the sea beasts."Gideon, you…""This is your doing, you know?" Gid

It was basically a free pass to wipe out Nethercult.Gideon's killing intent surged.Jessica said, "Marshal Snow, should I talk to my father and arrange for a troop to assist you?""There's no need for that. If I wanted, I could contact Samson and have the Dragon's Aegis flatten Nethercult. But that would put Elara's life at risk. I'll pay the Nethercult a visit myself. I want to see what kind of stunt Tristan is trying to pull.""Marshal Snow, it's too dangerous. Tristan definitely has something planned. He wouldn't be bold enough to let you walk into Nethercult otherwise.""It's fine." Gideon wasn't afraid. He already had the confidence to take on a supreme. Even if Tristan had brought backup, it didn't matter."Gideon." At that moment, Ronan and Noel arrived."Mr. Foley, I didn't expect to see you here."Ronan laughed. "Supreme core, huh?" Gideon muttered, the corner of his mouth lifting. "Interesting. I'm intrigued.""Die!" Tristan screamed hysterically.Gideon rapidly retreated—not out of fear, but to create distance, preparing a devastating killer move.Suddenly, a violent wind howled, spreading intense heat. The temperature in the area shot up.At that moment, firelight flickered in both of Gideon's hands. The left one glowed bright red—it was the Earthcore Flame. The flame on the right shimmered eerie green—it was the netherflame. Then, he brought both hands together. The two heavenly flames began to fuse, though they resisted each other, violently clashing under the pressure. The moment the seal was lifted, the explosion would be unimaginable. But that wasn't enough.Gideon opened his mouth and breathed out streams of core power, merging into the flames. The nation's destiny surged into it as well. The buildup of energy already roared in the void. The seawater beneath Gideon's feet spl

"Proceed!" The word rippled through the skies. From Imperial Palace, it shot out, passed through the High Marshal Seal, and transmitted over Tyrant Sea—stirring it to a boil, shaking the whole place.A dragon's cry echoed through the void from the seal.Next, a mysterious force poured out from the seal, flooding into Gideon's body, lifting him as if to the summit in one step. A commanding, Supreme energy surged from within."This is bad!" Tristan's expression changed. At this moment, Chase had approved Gideon's request. Empowered, Gideon's strength skyrocketed as though he had instantly leapt to the supreme level."Damn it!" Tristan clenched his teeth. He didn't want to back down, but he had no choice. He had to avoid a head-on clash."Are you trying to run away?" Gideon sneered. Now, he was invincible. Tristan was just a weakling—a bug. There was nothing more to him."Tyrant Sea, rise." Gideon raised both arms. The seawater grew wild and furious, surging hundreds of yards int

The broken blade condensed the force of the blade itself."The great Marshal Snow is using a broken blade? How pathetic! My ghost blade was forged over three years, infused with countless rare materials. Die!"Just like that, a black blade arc came down.Gideon stayed calm, swung the broken blade, and a white arc of energy shot upward. The black and white blades clashed and shattered on impact.Tristan's next move followed immediately. "The eighth style of the 13 Ghost Blades! Nether's Pass!"The strike carried a chilling gale. The sound of wailing ghosts and howling spirits echoed. As it neared, Gideon noticed countless skulls swirling in the wind. They were only shadows, but enough to make one's scalp crawl. Gideon and Tristan clashed fists and were blown backward.Gideon's whole body went numb. He thought to himself, "Anyone who's remotely close to the word 'supreme' is no joke."Tristan, meanwhile, was shaken to his core. The moment their fists met, a massive force surged through his arm.If he hadn't reacted in time to deflect the impact, his body would've taken serious damage. Even so, his right arm was almost completely numb now.His long sleeves covered it so no one could see the trembling."No wonder it's called the Solar Titan Physique. It's one of the top-tier physiques. Now I see why.""That was nothing. Watch out, Mr. Neblanc. I'm about to turn it up." Gideon laughed loudly, battle intent soaring. He launched a full-on attack. It was not a secret technique. Instead, it was just pure close-quarters combat. That put Tristan in a tough spot. The suns were burning the sky and boiling the sea.At that moment, the only thing Chaim could think about was how brilliant this was.Two suns hung in the sky, the scorching heat boiling the ocean. The spectacle was nothing short of breathtaking and awe-inspiring.From the floating palace, a tall figure slowly walked out as if the entire world revolved around him, wrapped in radiant light."It's finally done." Gideon clenched his fists, his face full of joy. After two or three days of torment, he pushed through and made it. He had successfully transformed. His battle physique had taken another leap. Now, he could call it Tier 2 Solar Titan Physique."There are nine total transformations—nine tiers. This is only the second. There's still a long road ahead."Gideon wasn't arrogant, but it didn't diminish his confidence. Now, he was sure he could trade blows with a peak Supreme without relying on the Beast Supreme Bone."It's ridiculously hard to break into Supreme Realm."In fact

A few minutes later, an aircraft slowly descended, and several figures disembarked. Among them were four people Noel recognized—Chaim and the others he had stopped before. However, that wasn't the important part.Noel's eyes landed on the man leading the group. It was a middle-aged man in a dark green robe. He whispered, "That should be Nethercult's leader. He's powerful."The energy he radiates is of a Supreme, but my gut tells me he's not fully a Supreme yet. At best, he must be half a step away. There's still something missing."Ronan spoke grimly, "They're here for the netherflame. Gideon's in trouble. But that kid could already go toe-to-toe with a Supreme before. Now, after the transformation, his physique should be even stronger. He shouldn't fear Tristan."On the shore, Chaim was confused. "Mr. Leblanc, why are we here?""Idiot," Tristan snapped. "That freak absorbed the netherflame. He'll be desperate for a safe place to suppress it. He couldn't stay in the aircraft forev

"Damn it!" Atop a mountain peak, Chaim slammed the ground in anger, his face dark with rage, breathing heavily. He had been chasing after the heavenly flame for so long, yet he didn't even catch a glimpse of a shadow."Mr. Ballard, calm down. Don't hurt yourself," the three Nethercult guardians tried to comfort him, though they, too, were seething with frustration. They already had it in the bag, but they blew it."They can't get away. She wanted to check it out but didn't have the strength.Elara, on the other hand, was immersed in her training."Elara, aren't you even a little worried about Marshal Snow?""Why should I? He's tough.
