A Stranger

As I stood before Liam, his gaze pierced through me, but not in the way I had hoped. It was a gaze devoid of recognition, a gaze that shattered my world into a million fragmented pieces. The man I loved, the man I had sacrificed everything for, was now looking at me as if I were a complete stranger.
