Her feet paused. Cyra felt like her heart had come to her mouth by seeing him right in front of her again. His predacious gaze told her that he had been waiting for her and this alerted her.
Cyra clenched her palms and attempted to walk away from there because she couldn’t make that dare to stay alone with this man, even for a single second. Cyra just took a step of her but her body forced her to stand still as her eyes witnessed him coming closer to her.
She knew she should be running away from him but seeing him coming closer to her, her feet refused to get away from him. Was it because of the fear of getting chased by him or was it something more deep and dark?
Her blood ran cold, seeing him eliminating the distance between their bodies. His eyes dared her to look away from him and like a compliant slave, her eyes submitted to his unsaid warning without even trying to fight. What had happened to her?
Suddenly his phone started ringing which he was holding in his hand and Cyra saw him finally looking away from her to pick up his phone. She felt extremely grateful to that person who had called him.
Taking the opportunity, Cyra hurriedly tried to walk past him.
“Meet me at the terrace in 20 minutes,” his throaty voice halted her steps. She snapped her head in his direction and found his eyes forward. He pressed his phone against his ear and tried to walk away but his words and his behaviour made her clench her jaw. How dared he?
“I will not do any such thing,” Cyra finally opened her mouth which stopped him in his tracks. Turning around, he looked at her and her heart shuddered, seeing the corner of his lips slightly tugging upward.
“You will, mi amor,” his voice turned more gentle but something inside her shook aggressively by hearing him addressing her by that name. It was like that name held some kind of power over her which was capable of controlling her very existence.
She continued to peer at him and then saw his gaze wandering all over her face before he twirled around and walked away from there while talking on his phone. What had just happened here? Did he order her or requested her? And most importantly, how was he so sure that she would definitely listen to him?
“Cyra…..” Keana’s voice snapped Cyra out of her thoughts. She turned around and saw Keana coming closer to her.
“What happened? Are you alright?” Keana asked her. Gulping, Cyra wagged her head.
“No, your face looks like you have just seen a ghost,” her words made Cyra shrug herself. How could she tell her that it was not a ghost but that she had just encountered the devil himself who had invited her to meet him in the terrace all alone?
“No, I am fine,” Cyra passed her a forced smile which made Keana beam too.
“Okay, now come with me. Our parents are busy conversing and we would definitely get bored there, so let's go. We will enjoy our girly time,” hearing Keana, Cyra maintained her smile and nodded.
Keana was almost a decade older than Cyra but they both had developed a very good bond with each other since Cyra's childhood.
“Yes, my brother also brought this for me from there,” Cyra heard Keana telling her while showing her a beautiful diamond pendant and some other gifts which her brother had brought for her from abroad and Cyra didn't even know why she was staring at all those presents with so much curiosity. Probably because she was eager to know what kind of thoughts he had for objects rather than humans and she must say, his taste was really good and eye-catching. Each and everything which he had gifted Keana was beautiful.
“And this.?” Suddenly her eyes fell on a silver bracelet on Keana's bed as they both were present inside her bedroom. That bracelet looked ordinary as compared to the rest of the other luxury gifts.
“Oh…this. Zaiden gifted me this almost 5 years ago and you know, this is my most favourite gift from my brother,” her words confused Cyra. Why was she considering this simple bracelet favourite when the other presents were looking so beautiful and expensive as compared to them?
“Why?” Cyra couldn't help but ask her.
“Because he bought this for me with his very first salary which he earned on his own,” Keana told her with an affectionate smile on her face and that warmth gleaming in Keana’s grey eyes told her about how much she loved her brother and by looking at those dozens of gifts, she could guess it that he loved his sister a lot too.
“He loves you a lot, right?” She questioned Keana, widening her smile.
“Well, I am 4 years older than him but he always treats me like I am the younger one,” Keana uttered with a chuckle and from her words, she calculated his age. Four years older? It meant, he was 27 years old as Keana was 31.
“So what kind of person is he?” Before Cyra could even mould her question, it slipped out of her mouth. Keana gave her a stunned look.
“Why? Don't tell me, you are interested in becoming my sister-in-law?” Keana sent her teasing smirk which immediately widened Cyra's eyes. She hurriedly shook her head.
“No, I….I was just curious,” her words stuttered.
“Relax. I was kidding,” Keana said, grinning.
“And about Zaiden? He has been very calm and composed since his childhood,” Cyra keenly heard every word of Keana's regarding him.
“He used to be a very intelligent and sharp minded kid and he always used to top his every class and that's why, our dad decided to send him abroad for future studies when he was just eight,” Keana said.
“Eight? Don't mind me but don't you think it was a very tender age?” Cyra asked and in return, saw Keana sighing.
“It was my dad's decision and his decision is the final decision for all of us,” Keana uttered. Cyra clearly caught that look of helplessness in Keana's eyes.
“Our father wanted him to be perfect in everything, so that he would not have to face any problem while taking our father's place in the business and see, it worked,” Keana smiled.
“And he seems to speak very less,” Cyra tried to tackle out more information about him. Keana chortled, hearing her.
“Agreed. Zaiden speaks very little and he has always been like this since his childhood. Sometimes, people around him even starts believing that he can't speak but Zaiden believes the language of actions rather than words,”
No one knew it better than Cyra that how bad he was with talking and how worse he was with his actions.
“And the most appreciative thing about him is that he never loses his patience. He never argues. I have barely seen him getting angry over something,” that information startled Cyra. He was not aggressive? Really? Were they really talking about the same person?
“I have never seen him crying and I pray I never have to. Even in his childhood, he used to be very introverted. He didn't like making friends because he enjoys his own company a lot and you know he has a weird habit or you can call it an addiction or maybe obsession,” Cyra keenly listened to her.
“What?”
“Don't tell him that I told you about this but Zaiden has been obsessed with the sound of anklets since he was a tiny kid,” hearing Keana, Cyra's brows wiggled in confusion.
“Anklets?” She asked, untidy and Keana nodded at her with a chuckle.
“He loves hearing the sound of anklets’ tinkles more than anything and anyone probably,”
Cyra frowned at her words. He loved the tinkling of anklets? Now what kind of liking was this? He was a crazy maniac or why would he love something like this? But only if she knew why he was obsessed with the tinkling of anklets.
“Let's go now. I think our parents must be waiting for us,” Cyra heard Keana. She nodded and stood up on her feet when suddenly her eyes travelled towards her phone and she got that urge to check the time. Only two minutes left for the completion of that twenty minute deadline he had given her. Should she go there to meet him alone? No, it was a terrible idea.
“Let's go,” Keana said and Cyra nodded at her. Both the girls walked out of Keana's room but Cyra's eyes remained fixed at her phone's time and when only a minute left for the completion of his twenty minutes, her feet automatically paused.
“What happened?” Keana asked her, seeing her still in her place.
“I…I need to make an important call. I will be in the terrace and will be back in a few minutes,” she uttered to Cyra and without even waiting for her response, Cyra turned around and stormed away from there where Keana just continued to gaze at her disappearing figure.
Clutching her phone tightly in her hands, she reached the terrace while panting heavily because she came here running and she didn't even know why? Why was she so afraid of breaking that timeline he had given her?
Cyra stepped inside the terrace and a cold blow of air immediately hitted her, making her body quiver. Cyra gulped and roamed her eyes everywhere where she could not find anything except for the darkness of the night which had been ignited by the light of the moon and the lamps of the mansion.
She took a few more steps towards one of the railings of that terrace when suddenly she heard those heavy yet familiar footsteps coming closer to her which froze her body.
“I am impressed with your obedience, Ms. Merciez,” his deeply hoarse voice caused a chill to run down her spine. Cyra didn't dare to turn around but it was until she heard his next words.
“As much as I am displeased with your curiosity to know about me from my sister, mi amor,” and those words of his widened her eyes in pure shock.
Cyra instantly spun around and looked into his imperious cerulean eyes which numbed her soul. He knew everything? But how?
Cyra's heartbeat dropped, seeing his feet eliminating the distance between their bodies.
His eyes gazed so keenly at her that it made Cyra feel like he knew everything about her. Even those things which had been hidden deep inside her soul but she was not even aware that they were breathing inside her very existence.
Completely numb, Cyra saw that man coming closer to her who had now started becoming like the biggest sin of her life. Her grip tightened around her phone and this time she forced her feet to listen to the voice of her mind….that she should keep her distance from him.His eyes caught her walking back but at the same time, they also noticed that broken railing behind her which her eyes could not catch because of the darkness of the night.“If you were so curious to know about me then you could have just come to me and ask me whatever you want to know about me?” He uttered to her, calmly like they both were each other's best friends, so she could directly ask him anything about his own self. His feet continued to eliminate the distance between their bodies while her steps also didn't stop from reducing that elimination of distance between them.“I could have given you a better and more detailed illustration about what kind of person I am, mi amor,” his words made Cyra swallow.“How do yo
“Did you think, Ms. Merciez?” Frigid, Cyra gazed at him. She really never thought about those consequences which were going to occur once she would tell everything to everyone and her apprehensive expression said that all to him.“You will tell your father regarding all of this and this would ruin our families’ relations. It would break our fathers’ decades of friendship,” he uttered and it continued to fill her with more and more fright when she attempted to look upon the coming aftermath.“Your father will believe you but it won't be the same from my father's side because he will believe his own son rather than you. Then, this matter might go in the hands of the police and then it will get revealed in front of the entire world where ….” He paused and looked into her beryl eyes more keenly where he saw that terror gleaming in them.“Every person in this entire country might get aware of how Caius Alvaro's son drugged Arran Merciez’s daughter to take advantage of her and then….the pol
The cold breeze of the night continued to shudder her body but it could not shiver that fear Cyra's heart had been feeling at that moment by seeing that pernicious calmness in his cerulean eyes. That serene smile remained intact on his face, even though he knew he was pushing both of them on that treacherous edge of losing their lives but none of this could fade that repose look on his face and this told her what kind of menacing insanity he possessed inside him.“Give that phone to me, Ms. Merciez,” she heard him saying to her. His hand tightly gripped her wrist which caused more tears to roll down from her eyes. How could someone be this crazy? He was playing with both of their lives just to make her lose, even if that loss involved losing their own lives?Cyra refused to give up to his madness and tightly gripped her phone. She knew she should scream for help. Her parents would definitely listen to her screams of her help and might even succeed in saving her from this man's madness
“Cyra Devil Alvaro,” amiably breathing that name against her mouth, he pressed his lips against her delicate ones which froze Cyra for a brief moment, especially when she heard that name escaping from his mouth and what it actually meant. Cyra Devil Alvaro…..Cyra Zaiden Alvaro. That mere name had started evoking countless emotions inside her which she had never felt before. He gently sucked on her lower lip, taking Cyra out of her deep thoughts. She finally realised how her mind got fixed at that name instead of focusing on how his mouth was touching her without her consent. How irrational she had turned?Cyra immediately turned her head away in order to stop him from kissing her. She thought he was going to be aggressive with her for denying his touch and might hurt her too but he just stopped kissing her and then pressed his forehead against her temple which felt more terrifying than his kiss, to her? Why did this man behave so calmly whenever she expected him to be angry? His calmn
“What were you doing on the terrace, Cyra?” Cyra heard her mother asking her as soon as she entered the hall where her parents were present, along with his parents and Keana. “Leena called me, so I was talking with her, mum,” Cyra lied because she knew she didn't have the guts to tell anyone present there regarding what happened with her on the terrace and by whom, so lying seemed to be the easiest thing to do at that moment to her.“Is everything alright?” Cyra heard her mother asking her again and she understood her mother might have sensed that apprehension on her face which she was trying to conceal.Cyra wagged her while trying to pass a forced smile to her mother but her attempt to smile failed as soon as she saw him entering the hall. His cerulean eyes were already on her but Cyra looked away from him.“I will be back in a minute,” Cyra said to her mother, confusing her.“Where are you going now?” Her mother asked, getting up from the sofa.“In the garden,” she answered, bewild
Horrified, Cyra watched that old lady, Clara, who was also one of the oldest house staff in the Alvaro manor, standing in front of them. Clara’s wrinkled eyes watched them, a bit appalled. She caught them like this. Cyra saw Clara lowering her eyes which made her immediately detach herself from his arms. Her entire body started trembling in fear because she didn't even know what would happen if Clara would tell their parents about what she saw here. “I….” Cyra lost her words. She didn't even know what to say.Clara took her head upward. Cyra thought she was going to ask something to them but Clare trailed her eyes towards him.“Your father is calling you both inside,” she told him and Cyra saw him wagging his head in his reply to Clara. After receiving his answer, Clara turned around and left, leaving Cyra completely startled behind her. What just happened here? Why didn't Clara ask anything to them after catching her in his arms? Was she going to tell their parents everything now? T
“I am missing you, mi amor,” For a brief moment, her heart went numb. That longing in his gravelly voice, that yearning in his words did something to her. He was sounding like he was begging his fate to just get a glimpse of her again and this made Cyra feel needed. What was she even thinking?“Then make sure to find a river and get yourself drowned inside it,” she spat back in the call, ignoring those irrational thoughts of her mind. Cyra heard him chuckling at her answer which caused her to frown.“Sounds like a good idea but it won't be fun doing it all alone, so mind joining me, Ms. Merciez?” His words made her clench her jaw. “Shut the fuck up and don't act like you are my friend or something,” she seethed out at him because Cyra had her enough. How could he behave like everything was normal between them when her life had turned into a mess just because of him? “Did I ever tell you that I want to be your friend?” He questioned her back, filling her with more anger.“No, you di
She would not go out of her house today. Standing in front of the mirror, Cyra was affirming those words inside her head while brushing her hair. She didn't sleep a wink last night. How could she after the deal she had made with the devil? And now she just needed to win this game and everything would get completely alright for her. Right? Her phone's screen flashed, gaining her attention. Cyra grabbed her phone from the dressing table. Ethan had sent her a picture of a couple silver chains with lockets of their names’ initials….’E and C’. This clenched her heart. There used to be a time when these little gestures of his used to make her extremely happy, but now, they were hurting her because they were making her realise what kind of betrayer she was. She was intentionally cheating on this man who loved her so much, but now. Now it was enough. She would go to any extent to protect her love and his life. She would do anything, and Ethan would be her only destination. That was it.Her p
AIV MANOR…a huge mansion, which he had built three years ago in his little sister's name. And for the past three years, he had been living in this mansion with his sister, Aivren and his aunt, Keana. Zace entered the mansion, and it immediately tensed up the entire surroundings and its people because his mere presence was enough to turn even the most joyous environment gloomy. All the house staff and the guards bowed their heads in front of him, who strode straight towards the direction of that room where his sister was. Whenever he came back home, the first thing he did was to go and meet his sister, and whenever he left the house, he made sure to take a glimpse of hers. And he had been doing this for years, just with the hope that at any second, his little sister would wake up and talk to him.Zace reached the room, and just like every other day, he witnessed her laying on that bed with her eyes completely closed and her body entirely numbed. His aunt Aevia was examining her, where
“How are you, Elysia?” She heard her neighbour, aunty Suzette, asking her, who was standing at her window. She passed her a big smile, and nodded her head.‘I am good. How are you, aunty?’ she asked her back, using her signed language, because for this world, Elysia was a mute, who could not speak completely... .and she had also never attempted to make this world think otherwise.Suzette smiled back at her. “You know your smile is so innocent and adorable that it could even melt the heart of the devil,” that old woman complimented her, but her words vanished the smile from that 18 years old girl's face. Not all the devils would fall for her smile, especially that cruel devil, who had gotten imprinted on her existence 8 years ago. That devil, who had taken her grandpa's life so brutally, and had promised her to find her too, and she knew only to hurt her ruthlessly. And also because of whom, she had been keeping her real identity hidden from the entire world and was living her life as
Her effulgent sun-kissed skin, which was wrapped in that plain-ivory midi dress, making her look like a beguiling dusk hidden beneath a cloak of the daylight. Her tiny button nose, straight and sharp. Her small-round face. Her heart-shaped lips, which had a natural blush of pink. Her body looked dainty, and irresistibly delicate. But the most ethereal part of her was those icy blue eyes of hers, which were beautifully complementing her skin. Her eyes were so bewitching and surreal, like it would make any gaze to get that urge to dive deeper into those oceanic eyes of hers. She was alluring, but as per his perspective, she was an allure, which seemed too fragile and too breakable for her own good. And this world would not think twice before crushing this delicacy under their brutal feet. And he was also a part of that cruel world. In complete silence, he watched that girl trying to sell her roses to the passerby, but what gained his attention was her actions. She was not speaking, but w
“NO…. PLEASE FORGIVE HIM…..I AM BEGGING YOU…..PLEASE FORGIVE HIM,” that sister begged to protect the life of her elder brother. That brother, who was getting brutally beaten by a group of men in their own house, and their boss was sitting on the sofa with his legs crossed and arms spread against the edge of the sofa.Tears were vigor falling from her eyes, as she watched her brother coughing blood, but those men didn't stop. They didn't feel any mercy towards her brother because her brother had made that mistake of going against the immoral himself. That immoral person, who knew nothing about forgiveness.“Please forgive him. I am begging you, Mr. Alvaro. Please,” she pleaded him, while struggling in his men's hold, who were holding her arms. His oceanic-green eyes remained fixed at that man, Stephen, who had dared to enter his house yesterday while wearing the cloak of a door to door salesperson, so that he could sell his and his house information to his enemy, Kylo Reubez, but his f
After one fucking year, he finally got his hold on this motherfucker, who had destroyed all of their lives with no mercy. His sister had been laying on that bed like a dead body for the past year because of him. He had started hating his own mother just because of him. He had started losing his own self just because of him. He had to watch his aunt Keana turning into a lifeless person because of him. He had lost his solace just because of him.His life had lost its allure, just because of him and only him. But tonight, he was going to make him pay for every tear he and his family had been shedding for years. He was going to snatch the cost from his soul for every scream his sister had shouted to protect her life.“You don't even know how desperately I have been waiting for this moment, Vezar,” that 20 years old boy breathed out in his dreadfully serene voice, who had been dying to witness this day.For the past year, he had never been able to sleep a wink. His own shadow had started ha
Humming a soft tune, that ten years old little girl was dancing around the kitchen table. Her dance steps were beautifully matching the princess character, whom she had seen dancing in the movie this morning. She had watched that princess dancing just for once, and she had already memorized her steps properly because she loved dancing. That 10 year old little girl had always dreamt of becoming a famous dancer. She loved dancing so much that it had become a way for her to communicate with her own happiness.“And what is my Allura doing all alone here?” That familiar voice made that little girl turn around, and a huge smile formed on her tiny round face, seeing her grandpa in front of her. She ran towards him, and hugged him. She heard her grandpa chuckling while he caressed her head. Her grandpa watched her pulling her head back and taking it upward to look at his face, and his smile filled with more warmth, seeing her face, which was the exact resemblance of his. Her glowing tanned-
“We are trying, Mr. Alvaro, but even we don't know when she will be able to get out of the coma, or if she will ever be able to get back or not,” the doctor's words tightened Zaiden's chest. He had called the best team of doctors for Aivren's surgery, and they succeeded in saving her life but failed in waking her up from her consciousness. She went into a coma because that hit had harmed her head very severely, and it had also affected her brain. “Please do everything to cure her. Please,” he had never begged in front of a stranger, but at that moment he was even willing to grab that doctor's feet to save his niece's life. He could do anything to protect her, but it had already turned too late.He failed. He failed in protecting his family.“NO….LET ME SEE HER,” Zaiden heard Zace's loud shouts. He immediately stood up on his feet, and stormed out of that doctor's cabin. Zaiden saw Theodore, Arran and Galen were trying to hold back his son, who was struggling in their grip to enter th
“No, they are actually very beautiful,” Aivren said, checking her ear studs in her car's mirror, but Zace smacked her head lightly.“Keep your eyes on the road. You are driving and you have already taken the long route,” he reminded her. She frowned, which made him chuckle. She had taken the long route and their family might have already reached their destination. They both were still twenty minutes away from the Merciez residence.Suddenly his phone beeped. Zace checked his phone and saw a text from his father.‘If you are nearer that child's park, will you pick up your mother from that road near the park? Her car broke in the middle, and we have already reached here?’ Zace read his father's text.“What happened?” Aivren asked him. Zace sighed and told her about the text.“No problem. I know a shortcut from here that would make us reach that park in five minutes, so tell uncle. We will pick up aunty from there,” Aivren said to him, turning the car around. He nodded because he also kn
“Just a couple more days and then you can resume classes, Zace,” Arezko said to Zace, whose sea-green irises were busy scanning those diamond necklaces in front of him at the display. Both the best friends had come to a renowned jewellery store to buy gifts for Aivren because tomorrow was her 19th birthday. And the Alvaros were also throwing a birthday celebration party for her, like every other year. But this year, the celebration was going to take place in an extremely intimate manner because Aivren had requested her uncle Zaiden regarding this. She didn't want a huge celebration party after everything that had happened in their college and to her brother, so respecting her decision, the party was now going to be held just in between their family and close friends.“I think, this would suit her better,” Zace pointed towards a neckpiece, which was shimmering the most in that display. It was looking subtle yet beautiful, just like his little sister. And it also had matching earstuds.I
