Happiness POV

I looked around the shelves, walking along the shelves of the campus library, and trying to get my mind off what happened this morning. I woke up in Mason's bed. Again.

Does this mean I'm his girlfriend now?

I should be after what happened in the cabin, right? My cheeks burned as I remembered the not so little details of that night.

I sighed, leaning back against the shelf, and scanning the book titles in front of me. I don't understand why I'm here or how I got to this section of the Library. The books I'm looking at are unrelated to my project assignments.

At least, that was what I told Ash and Martha. I just needed some time alone.

My eyes darted around the many indigenous languages in Africa. Another book about Sanskrit, and another about Japanese. How did I end up in this section?

My phone buzzed as I received a message from Mason.

Mason: Hey.

Mason: What are you doing this afternoon?

I can feel the change in the rhythm of my heartbeat upon reading his text. I don't know that such a simple thing could affect me this much. Why am I feeling excited just hearing from him? I see him everyday.

Me: I'm in the library. I'm doing some research for my assignment.

I bit my lower lip, contemplating if I should go home or not. Maybe Mason's library has the book I'm looking for. And maybe he can teach me again.

I blushed again as I remembered our first kiss in his library. Different places, different memories.

Does this mean I'm trying to spend some time with him? For God's sake, Happy, you saw him this morning. You even spent the night in his arms.

I shoved my phone back into my pocket. My heart has never filled so many mixed up emotions like this, and I wonder if Mason is feeling the same way.

I shut my eyes, wishing I wasn't thinking too much into this. Just when I'm about to leave the section and actually concentrate on my project, someone emerges at the end of the corridor.

My eyes widened. Mason?

Happiness. You're imagining things again.

I blinked. My feet are nailed to the ground, even though Mason is now standing in front of me. I'm still startled by his sudden appearance. I never expected he would step foot in the campus library.

“Mason?” I echoed in disbelief. “What are you doing here?”

“I…” He placed his forehead against mine, cornering me against the bookshelf.

The sudden closeness makes my heart beat even faster.

“I missed you.” His voice is hoarse.

He pulls away, and the longing in his eyes is as clear as the day. It's almost painful to watch. My mind is still trying to comprehend what's happening. It feels surreal.

I felt clingy because I couldn't stop thinking about him, but looking at him now, I think the feeling is mutual. Maybe even more than I am.

Isn't he supposed to be busy at work? There would be so many cases that would distract him from me.

He placed his hands on my arm, leaning closer to me.

“People will see.” I said softly, though my voice is filled with worry. I don't want students to see us in a compromising situation.

Mason's gaze darted to the library section's name before he focused his attention on me again.

“In this section?” He whispered. “I doubt that.” Amusement crosses his face. “How did you even get here?”

“I was…” I falter.

I can't answer that without feeling dumb. I don't even know how I ended up here. My mind was not on the right track. I was just walking around, my project the last thing on my mind.

He raised his brows when I went silent. Amusement dancing in his eyes. He dropped a chaste kiss on my lips. Once. Twice. I gripped the front of his shirt.

“How did you get here?” I asked him the same. This section is pretty closed off from the other sections.

“I was looking for you.” He shrugged, then pulled me closer. “Come here.”

This time he kissed me properly. My back is pushed against the shelf as the kiss deepens. I gasped, and Mason used that chance to tease me with his tongue. I respond, circling my arms around his neck.

He slowed down the kiss like he's trying to take his time savoring me. He groaned, sending a tingling sensation down the area in my thighs.

I don't know how long we've been lost in this slow and passionate kiss, but it feels like a long time. He finally pulled away, his lips grazing my neck. A soft moan escapes me.

Mason looked into my eyes. “I love hearing you moan, Happiness.”

I swallowed, feeling my cheeks and neck heat up.

Mason continued placing kisses on my neck, kneading my breasts over my blouse. I'm very aware of how his touch is affecting my whole body. It's like I'm burning again under his fingertips.

“Mason.” I can't help but moan again, my eyes closed shut as my lips part.

“Fuck,” he curses under his breath. “When you say my name like this…”

My eyes opened and I met his intense ones. His eyes are the most beautiful I've ever seen. I can't get bored staring at his eyes. To have his eyes staring at mine makes my heart feel like it is exploding.

The next thing Mason does surprises me. He got to his knees.

“Mason?” I stuttered as he ran his hands up my thighs under my skirt.

He looked up at me. “I want to make you feel good, Happiness,” He rasps. “Can I?”

I'm at a loss for words. At this point, I know I won't be able to say No. My body yearns for him. This is going to be the craziest thing I've ever done.

I gave him a silent nod, and blurted out, “What if someone sees…”

“Keep your head down, and your eyes on me.” He interrupted. “I won't let anybody see your face.” Possessiveness fills his eyes and voice. “Your pleasured face, and moan when I please you are for my eyes and ears alone. I won't let anyone see that, ever.”

My body is shaking as I nod again. No one has passed through here since I came to the section, so we should be good. My heart thumps rapidly.

I watched as Mason slid my panties down my legs, a wet patch in the middle, keeping it in his pant pockets. He put my leg on his shoulders, making me gasp.

“Hold me,” He commands, his voice husky and deep with desire.

I wrapped my arms around his head, closed my eyes then kept my head down. Mason swiped his tongue over my clit causing me to grip his hair.

“Ah…” I cried out, trying to keep my voice down.

He flicked my clit with his tongue again. He starts french kissing my clit, and I think I'm falling unconscious. I bit my lips hard trying to not to make a sound, but it's so damn hard.

Mason shoves his tongue into my vag, and the feeling becomes too much. He secured my legs on his shoulders before going back to my clit.

My juices are dripping, and I can hear him slurping. “Fuck, I can do this forever.” He hisses.

Mason is surely torturing me. I'm afraid that someone will see or hear us, but the feeling is unbelievably thrilling. I think I've gone crazy to think this would be thrilling. Mason is not stopping anytime soon as he resumes french kissing my clit.

“Mason,” I gasp. “It's too much.”

“I'll stop only if you cum.” He groans.

Without warning, he went back to his ministrations, alternating between sucking on my clit and french kissing my vag. I'm already at the edge and that one movement is enough to make me cum so hard.

Mason sucked even harder, not stopping through my entire orgasm. Only when I finally came down from my high did he let go of his grip on my thighs.

I pant hard, trying to catch my breath as Mason looks at me with a small smile on his face. I smiled back, and he pulled away helping me stand up. My legs are still weak, but before I collapse, he pulled me into a tight embrace.

“That was…” I can't even speak of it.

I heard his chuckle before he bent down to kiss me. I could taste myself on him, and he deepened the kiss.

Someone cleared their throat.

The next morning, I woke to an empty bed. Mason had already left for work, but the faint scent of his cologne lingered on the pillow beside me. It was a small comfort, though it did little to ease the unease stirring in my chest. The messages had stopped for now, but the silence felt more ominous than reassuring. Whoever was behind them had wanted me to find the connection to Sandra’s brother, and they’d succeeded. The next question was why and what they wanted from me.I forced myself out of bed, showered, and headed to campus. The routine of classes and tutoring was a welcome distraction, but even as I sat in the lecture hall, scribbling notes, my mind wandered back to Mason. To Sandra. To Charles.By the time I left campus, the sun was dipping below the horizon, casting long shadows across the streets. I pulled my coat tighter around me, quickening my pace. As soon as I was alone, I found myself searching for answers.Sandra’s brother, Charles, had been a name I barely remembered from years ago. I combed through old articles online, piecing together fragments of the past. He’d been in some kind of trouble before his sudden death, but details were scarce. Mason’s name didn’t appear anywhere, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that the message was pointing to something real.Hours passed, and I barely noticed. The more I read, the more my stomach twisted. It wasn’t until I stumbled upon a report about a police raid gone wrong that everything clicked. Sandra’s brother had been at the scene. And Mason had been the officer in charge. He was arrested for the murder before he was acquitted. I sat back, my hands trembling. I didn’t want to believe it, but the evidence was right there. Mason was
