Chapter 7. The Anxiety (part-2)
Once a year, there was one particular event that anticipated by all women across the country. The lucky invitee spent hours grooming themselves for the matchmaking party. They selected the most beautiful ball gown that complemented their body, prettified their skins with the most expansive beauty product that they can buy, and wore the accessories that would surely catch the attention of the party’s hosts.
Yes, women of Wolftopia know that not all of them will be the soul mates of Blackfrost brothers. That’s why, to hide their anxiety, they need to look as implacable as they can, in the presence of the king and royal princes.

Later in the evening, the guest’s chariot from foreign land arrived one by one to the Blackfrost castle. The tap of carriage’s horse-shoes that passed the barrack, awaken Jeremiah who fainted right after the mistreatment.
The omega realized he would die if he kept losing too much blood, so he chanted a healing spell to connect the split vein, repair the broken ribs, and stop the internal bleeding. Sadly, he didn’t have enough mana left to relieve the pain that swarming all over his body.
‘I need food to replenish my mana,’ he thought and after a few seconds, he smiles as he found the solution. ‘Of course, I can find plenty of leftover foods at the party.’
The injured boy then rose and walked slowly to the party that took place in the castle’s ballroom, but he had to careful not to be discovered by Loretta Saige or even worse, the brothers.

King Jayden and his brothers were anxious about whether or not the party’s preparation was still incomplete. They wanted to welcome their future mate as perfectly as possible. So thirty minutes before the party began, the brothers came to check the premise.
When they arrive, they see the bustling servants are working tirelessly all around the room; luckily the preparation seems almost over. The white marble floor looks clean and shining, they can see their reflection on it; the foods and beverages seemed tempting and served neatly on the tables, and the decoration was sublime.
Lauretta Saige approached the king and princes politely; she told them the party’s preparation is almost done. “Your majesty, as you can see the preparation will soon be complete.” She paused and tilt her head back a little, “the servants work very hard to please you, my lords, except for one particular servant that your majesty probably already know.”
King Jayden looked around and realized that he could not find Jeremiah in the ballroom. “I see. So he is slacking off again. You should discipline him more properly, Mrs. Saige.”
Carson, who knew what really happened to Jeremiah, chose to silent and smirked when he knew that the poor omega would face another punishment.
Likewise, Jayden also remembered how dirty Jeremiah looked like and he did not want his future mate to see the unpleasant sight, “Mrs. Saige, I don’t want Jeremiah to be seen around the dance hall. His presence will definitely scare our guests.”
“As you wish your highness.” Lauretta bowed and leave the king and his brothers, only to return to her chore, supervising the servants. She wants to maintain a good image in the presence of the king. That’s why she wants to look sedulous and useful whenever the royal family around or at least… looks like one.
Yes, the party’s preparation is now complete. The brothers see nothing that out of their standard. What left now is to wait for their future soulmates to come, who will complete their souls and cure the anxiety in their hearts.

When Jeremiah arrived at the castle’s garden near the dance hall, he can see the guest’s royal-carriages parked in order nearby. He sneaks quietly and walks inside the shadows behind the carriages to pass through the guards and the royal coachman which at the moment, are waiting outside and having a stormy conversation with each other.
Jeremiah cringed when he heard his stomach begins to grumble again for hundreds of time. ‘Dear my belly, please be patient, tonight we will have a feast.’
He lurks inside the shadow, among the well trim bushes located right next to the dance hall. There, the omega can see clearly through the window what happens inside the dance hall.
It was a lavish party filled with beautiful decorations and scrumptious meals. The women wear elegant colorful dresses and the men look gallant with their expansive dark tunics.
Oddly, Jeremiah cannot take his eyes off the brothers, who look very handsome with their well-tailored long sleeves velvet tunic, dark pants, and shining leather boots. They seemed to have a pleasant conversation with the women. Jeremiah feels that his heart is burning in jealousy after he saw Jayden charmingly smiled toward the bachelorettes who tried to flirt with him. While Aiden is dancing with one of the ladies who wear a sexy dress that shows too much cleavage and Carson impresses the ladies with his athletic stout figure.
‘Rotten cake… they all are just rotten cakes.’ He mumbles to divert his feeling.
He surprises to see the familiar face among the crowds, Selena Armstrong, who stood next to her mate Timothy Whitewood, wearing a beautiful blue satin dress. She looks pissed and seems to have an argument with her mate on something, which at the same time, attracted the attention of other foreign guests who stood around them.
Jeremiah sighs, ‘poor Timothy.’
As his gazed switch to the foods on the serving tables, his eyes began to sparkle to see the mouth-watering food that lied at the corner of the room almost untouched by the guests. Jeremiah knew that the guests come far from their homeland not for a culinary tour, but to meet the most handsome bachelors in Wolftopia.
‘This skinny royal-alphas probably won’t eat too much; they surely don’t want to look fat in front of their princes charming.’ He amused himself by the thought of how many leftover foods that he could eat after the party end.
Jeremiah considered that the annual matchmaking party was the best day of the entire year. He wished that the brothers to stay single for another year so he could eat plenty of tasty foods even though they usually came… from the trashcan.

Selena Armstrong exited the ballroom with anger and chose to walk alone inside the garden to calm her temper. Apparently, she was pissed that Timothy and she were disagree about the fate of their future children. Selena wanted to postpone the pregnancy because she was willing to focus on her research, while on the other hand, Timothy wanted to have beautiful blonde quadruplet pups soon after they get married.
As she was absorbed by the solitary of the garden, someone disturbs the peace by calling her name.
“Psst… Selena over here…”
As Selena looks around to find who was calling, only to find Jeremiah, who is hiding behind the bushes. She glad to see her best friend is nearby. She walks swiftly to approach him because she can’t wait to console him about Timothy and his crazy idea about having quadruplet babies.
However, after she saw Jeremiah’s horrifying condition, she spontaneously put her matter behind and helps her friend instead.
She kneels beside him, “Oh my goddess, Jemmy what happens? How come you injured yourself like this? Don’t tell me one of the brothers did this to you? This is outrages, they cannot do this! it’s against the law!” Selena expresses her worries by blabbering whenever she gets panic.
“Don’t worry Selena,” Jeremiah smiles and tries to calm her, “you could help me by bringing me the food from the party. I run out of mana to heal myself.”
Selena nodded, “okay, don’t go anywhere; I'll bring you plenty of foods.” She smiled while wiping the tears dropped on her cheeks. Before she went off, she looked back to her friend, “Do you have any request?” She asked.
He spontaneously said, “Cheesecake! Please bring lots lots of them.” He giggled.

When he saw that his mate returned to the ballroom. Timothy Whitewood noticed the anxiety on her face. He then quickly approached her to confirm what happened. “Selena where were you, I was looking for you everywhere.” He asked. “Are you alright?”
Selena walked past him as she tried to find reasons to hide her real motive. She turned back to her mate and glared at him. “After you were telling me that you want to put four baby wolves inside my uterus, of course, I am not alright Timothy.”
Selena kept walking while ignoring the tall-blonde man who was tailing her. She arrived at the serving table and takes the biggest plate that she can find. “Please make yourself useful and take another plate.” Selena gave him a plate to a man who stood next to her.
“But I am not really hungry at the moment,” Timothy replied.
“It’s not for you, it’s for me!” She yells at him and takes a big piece of cheesecake and other delicacies that she thinks Jeremiah might like to both plates.
“This is too much for you… don’t you afraid to get fat?”
Selena frowns after hearing the word ‘fat,’ and mumbles ‘how dare he says the ‘f’ word on my face.’
“I am an emotional eater Timothy and four of our unborn babies have already stressed me out.” She groused while taking some foods from the serving table.
“But you haven’t gotten pregnant yet.” He tried to reason with her, even though he knew it would be futile.
“But I will be… not one, not three, BUT with FOUR BABIES! Can you imagine how fat I will look like? Will you even still love me when I get fat? “
Timothy sighed and looked straight onto Selena’s blue eyes, “Well of course, you are my mate and you are carrying…” he quickly shrugs and rephrases his word, “will be carrying my babies.”
Selena’s cheeks turned fifty shades of red when she hears his answer. Smile of happiness secretly slips out from her lip. However, she realizes that Jeremiah, her best friend, was injured out there and must be taken care of as fast as possible.
“So, do you agree that we're going to have four babies at once?” Timothy’s question diverts Selena from her thought.
Selena did not reply, she just grabbed the other plate forcefully from Timothy’s hand, “you’ll get your answer after I'm finishing this cakes and don’t try to follow me! Okay!”
And then she just walked away to exit the ballroom, pretend to be angry, leaving her soulmate behind, who felt anxious.
