Natalie

Natalie remembered how she felt leaving Theo alone. His father and brother were there, but it was dangerous for him to be here.

“What about Theo?” She asked William as they were exiting.

He looked at her with a puzzled expression. “Do you really care? Or is it just your guilt that you have put all of us in danger?”

Natalie didn’t retort, because Willliam was right. She had indeed been selfish. It was one thing to run away from Theodore, but it was different to run in the arms of his enemy without knowing the truth. Not that she knew about Jacobs, but it was reckless of her to believe the first man who told her that he was going to help her.

The gates opened as the car ran on the driveway, out of the cage, and Natalie’s first emotion should have been to be happy, happy because she was free, but she was not. Her mind was only thinking about the man who had given her this freedom.
