Chapter 4

SALLY'S POV

I wasn't sure if I had heard correctly, if I was daydreaming once again, or? Was this happening, I decided not to think about it so much, so I wouldn't keep Alpha Lucas waiting.

I turned to him quickly my heart racing faster than a running cheater, that was the most romantic thing I've heard all my life and it turned me on for real.

"Can't I get a hug as well?" He asked fast trying to take his eyes off me, he had probably just realized he had been staring at me all over, the whole time.

I turned to Mom for approval, she had never let me get close to any other guy that isn't Sam, she smiled and nodded which meant a go-ahead.

I moved forward and hugged him, he hugged me back for close to five minutes before letting go. His scent, his warmth, his shoulders everything about him made me go wild, the hug lasted for a few minutes before he finally let go of me.

After then I didn't see alpha Lucas or Hayden for days, I was living in the moment and dreaming about the hug for days, that moment replaced all my nightmares and I didn't have them anymore.

I became bothered, alpha Lucas didn't come out of his mansion, he didn't go to the field and Hayden didn't come to see me either, he was supposed to come with his parents to talk to me about engaging me but he never came, perhaps Hayden played me.

I sat on my bed with a sad face as thoughts ran through my mind, I wondered why I haven't seen the break light of alpha Lucas, Hayden's phone wasn't reachable and I couldn't contact her. Perhaps he had traveled with Hayden, that was probably a goodbye hug, I should have known from the way they didn't want to let go.

I decided to move on from alpha Lucas and pray to the moon goddess to send my mate. Well, she did, y'all will find out soon.

After a whole seven days, I lay in my room reading a novel when Mom quickly badged into my room excitedly.

"Alpha Lucas and his parents are here for you", mom announced happily, and my heart traveled meters in split seconds.

"Are you sure? Are you only trying to buy me for badging into my room?" I asked her.

"Come over, they came in a few minutes ago, exactly an hour after your dad returned", she replied with a smile.

Dad had returned from his trip and we were so excited to have him back, I wanted to spend the whole day in his room, but he had asked me to come wait here while he freshened up, he would call me if he was done and I got carried away reading this novel. 

Dad and I were the closest, he loved me like his daughter.

"Mom, if this is true!" I said excitedly then I went mute immediately I realized I was in a whole mess. "Omg Mom, go ahead I'd join you guys shortly, I have to look my best", I said and rushed into the bathroom.

Mom left the room and I quickly emptied my wardrobe searching for my best and most decent cloth. Finally, I found a blue flare gown that stopped at my knee, I quickly put it on, applied light makeup, and wore my sandal, I also didn't forget to comb my hair, style it in shape, and hurried downstairs.

Alpha Lucas's family and mine were having lunch together, they were chatting and laughing happily, except Sam who wore a frown. Hayden was present as well, she was smiling so gracefully one would think she was the bride.

"Dear, come seat here", dad beckoned on me immediately after he sighted me, he was the first to sight me. Everyone present at the dining table turned around to look at me, alpha Lucas wasn't left out. I felt like a princess at the moment.

I walked up to the dining table and sat on the chair exactly right next to Dad.

Everyone talked about me, how beautiful I was, how humble and respectful I was, and how charming I look whenever I smile. Alpha Lucas's parents were excited and applauded him for making the right choice.

Alpha Lucas's parents were as nice as he was. They were self-established, and very smart and authoritative, although calm and sweet as well. I thought Alpha Lucas took after them, at age twenty-four alpha Lucas had achieved so so much, more than any other person his age.

The date was fixed for our engagement, it was the next weekend, I was over-excited I couldn't wait for the next weekend when I would get engaged to my dream man.

I wasn't eating because I was hurt, I had lost all my appetite to the excitement, and the excitement had filled my stomach to my throat. I was only eating to please everyone present at the table.

After dinner alpha Lucas took permission from my parents to speak to me for a bit and they permitted him, giving him only 10 minutes.

We walked to the balcony my hands tightly held in his, my heart raced the whole time, my fingers felt so warm locked up in his, and his sweet-smelling masculine perfume filled my nose. The fact that he was way taller than me, I wasn't short yet my head could only touch his shoulder.

My heartbeat doubled, I could hear them and it felt as if my heart was in my ear. I was feeling very nervous and shy, yet I didn't want the moment to end.

"Do you know why I didn't come on the promised date?" Alpha Lucas asked me with a smile, immediately we settled on the balcony, I went numb immediately and I thought I didn't hear correctly.

How did he know I was bothered? Who told him I already knew he was going to come? Perhaps Hayden had told him what we discussed, I hope she didn't also tell him my reaction! Oh my god! I'm sure she also told him I liked him.

My eyes widened, I opened my mouth but the question wasn't coming out, I wasn't sure whether or not to ask him what I wanted to.
