Chapter 2: White wolf
Red.
Under its paws. On the ground.
Liquid red.
Heat scorched the snow, although it wasn't enough to melt, it still obscured the purity of the grounds the wolf stood on.
The human side would have wanted to question the intruders, but the wolf didn't understand reason, it believed in the most severe kind of judgment. It knew only to kill. To protect its own.
Dead.
Before they could even understand what was happening, all eight of them were lying on the ground drowning in their own blood.
The temperature chilled. Snow began to fall again, heavily.
Within a few hours, there will be no trace of the blood and gore, or the bodies.
All that will be left would be clear, unadulterated, snow.
And a wolf, just as white as the ground it stood on.
The white wolf, the most feared wolf in the world.
Chapter 3: Let’s Go Rhys’s P.O.V "A white wolf in the Middle Himalayas?" I looked at them unbelieving. "You know I can't believe that, right? There haven’t been any wolf packs in India for the last few decades. Even if they’re rogue, they must have gotten to the Himalayas by crossing the mountains somehow. And if that’s the case, then someone must have seen them. I’ve had no such reports in the last decade and neither had the previous Alpha." "Yeah, we thought you wouldn't believe us. After all, it was just a fragment of our imagination that killed eight of our best spies." Aiden answered sarcastically, but his voice shook with the pain of loss. "It's true. You can see our memories if you want to. But there is a white wolf in the Middle Himalayas, a potentially powerful Alpha that just killed our men. We need to investigate if he is any threat to us. I cannot just stand and watch as our
Chapter 4: Captured Rhys’s P.O.V Doonra was a small village located in the valley of the middle Himalayas, just outside of Shiwalik. This is as far as I could get using my personal chopper, the rest, we’ll have to trek on foot. Behind it, the thin pebbled road began its twisting ascend upwards to the snowy mountains that stretched for miles and ended in the far higher ranges of the Greater Himalayas. The densely snowy lands of the mountain that’ll lead to our destination started about 10 Kilometers north of this village. It was there that the spies were killed. It’s already been eighteen hours since the annihilation and judging by the dark snow clouds overhead, it had snowed overnight. I highly doubt we would find any trace of the attacker's scent or their bodies. I, Zyane and four other fighters sat in a small tea shop, pretending to be hikers while we tried to get as much information
Chapter 5: Her? The blizzard had settled down, the snow was cold and thick, the wind cooler. The white wolf looked at the two bodies in front of it. Blood stained the vibrant white snow a dark crimson. The human had never liked the color of blood but the wolf had an uncontrollable thirst for violence. Both of them have seen too much, endured too much to just sit back and let things occur. The wolf liked to draw blood first, ask questions later. "They just don’t seem to learn, do they?" Aya spoke to it after a long sigh, tucking the gun safely back into a pocket in her skirt. The wolf snorted. Turned around, and started walking back. No, they never learn and they think they keep thinking that the next time will be a charm. The white wolf knew that this wasn't their final attempt and they will keep coming until they uncover the truth behind these snow covered lands. "Why you’re welcome,
Chapter 6: Mate Rhys’s P.O.V: I woke up with a start, gasping for air as my lungs burned from deprivation and immediately groaned in pain. My arms were stretched and aching, silver cuffs made my skin burn with every contact. My face felt horribly raw and my right shoulder hurt like hell, probably from the bullet that village girl shot at me...wait… My eyes finally adjusted to the dim light of the large room that I was stacked in and it took some time for my eyes to adjust before I was able to see clearly. I was sitting up against a wall in what looked like a dungeon or a jail, my wrists bound together above my head with silver cuffs. I turned my head towards my shoulder with difficulty to see it poorly bandaged; dried blood stained the once white cloth a dark reddish brown. My face felt like the skin had been peeled off of it, which was probably the case since it hurt like a bit
Chapter 7: Female Alpha Rhys’s P.O.V: Mate. She was my potential mate. The first wolf that my wolf had chosen after my transformation ten years ago, after my first shift into a werewolf. I’ve finally found her! When a shifter first turns eighteen, they shift into their respective animal halves. As soon as the animal part comes to surface it starts searching for a partner. It happens because even though our human urges can be controlled, our animal side longs for contact, for a connection that is unbreakable until the day we die. Contact of the most intimate kind with someone like its own. Hence, it starts searching for potential mates. But I had never found one until now, my wolf hadn’t found anyone worthy until this instant. As Alpha, I had much more control over my wolf than any other wolf, which is why I had been able to control the urge to find a mate and to stabilize my pack. The f
Chapter 8: Pains of Betrayal Rhys’s P.O.V: I don't know how long it has been, but it felt like eternity since I was left bleeding and chained to the dungeon walls. Zyane had tried to make small talk with me but I made it very clear that it was because of his mate that we're even in this hell hole. I haven't told him that the white haired women was my potential mate. I haven't confirmed it with her yet, so I wasn't even sure if she felt the bond at all. It felt so ironic thinking that not even a week ago, I was the one being lectured about finding my potential mate and settling down for the stability of the pack. And now, Karma the Bitch has bit me in the ass with all her might and my mate just turned out to be the potentially violent Alpha that Aiden and Devon were after. As promised, no food or water had arrived and I was pretty sure I was ready to drink my own blood
Chapter 9: Heated Denials Rhys’s P.O.V: I wasn't going to die after all. That was my first thought as I heard the hinges of the dungeon gate creak open. It felt like I had been without food and water for about a century and the Goddamned bullet in my shoulder was finally going to be poisoning my blood for good and that would be the end of me. So when I finally heard noises from the doorway of the dungeon, I was ready to get the hell out of this place once and for all. I was even ready to fucking leave this pack alone and just return home only if it weren’t for the silver haired Alpha, my mate. "W-w...t...r..." I could hardly breathe let alone speak. It felt like I had swallowed gallons of sand, my throat was that dry. But I don't remember if I actually got the water I had asked for because black sports soon danced in my vision and the next thing I know, I had passed out from exhaustion and the lack of nu
Chapter 10: Deal Mikalya’s P.O.V: I slammed the door shut on my way out of the egoistic Alpha’s room. There was a crowd gathered outside in the hallway, most probably waiting for eager gossip or maybe they were just weary of what might happen next if I accidentally killed the Alpha? I wouldn’t be able to tell with my mind seething with rage. But my packmates had clearly felt the rage through the pack link, the intricate bond of blood that connected us all as a pack, because they parted like the red sea as soon as they saw me approach. I was sure I wasn’t a pretty sight either with my eyes glowing with the wolf’s rage and my lips pulled back n a snarl. Their hurried motion of stepping out of my way as if I would actually take my anger out on them, would have been comical if my mind wasn’t so distracted. I didn’t even know which way I was heading until I found myself standing in front of the training room. Maybe
Against the Odds Aya’s P.O.V: It’s been two days since the battle ended. Two days since we won the battle and saved our lands from being tainted by those evil bastards. Two days since my mother nearly had her head ripped off by a wolf and still survived the attack. Two days since I first transformed into my wolf. Never in my life had I imagined that I would ever transform before my eighteenth birthday. Several members of the pack even had their doubts that I’d ever transform into a wolf at all, considering the fact that I was only a half-breed, a half-human, half-wolf hybrid. And there had been instances in history where the child born from such parents had never been able to transform even though tests had shown that the wolf genes had been the dominant factor in them. But something had happened that day. When I’d seen that wolf jump on to my mother’s back like a coward from behind her, I had lost it. A red ha
The Checklist Rhys’s P.O.V: The battle had finally ended, with the minimum amount of fatalities that I never thought was possible and tonight Mikalya’s and my pack would be celebrating our victory. A huge feast has been arranged in honour of the wolves that had fought so hard and led us to victory and everyone was super pumped about the event. Belle was preparing a huge meal for the feast and most of submissives along with a few dominants had readily volunteered for helping her out in the kitchen. I had been surprised to find out that even Zyane had readily volunteered for decorating duty and I think I briefly saw Jakia, one of my female soldiers, carrying a stack of potatoes on her back and walking towards the kitchen. Although I wouldn’t be that surprised about Zyane’s decision considering the fact that Aya was in charge of the decoration duty, but I was pleasantly surprised to find some of my male warriors l
Epilogue: Rhys’s P.O.V “We have a female Alpha amongst us.” I watched unsurprisingly as a group of tough, macho Alpha’s from all over Asia, fell to the floor laughing with their hands clutching their bellies. “And she’s the one who killed Aiden and Devon.” This time however, their reaction was less than hilarious. “So, you’re telling us, or rather, you actually want us to believe that a chick living up in the Himalayas was not only able to defeat an entire army of wolves from three of the best packs in Asia but was able to kill two strong Alpha’s without breaking a sweat?” It was Alpha Dong-Ju of South Korea who spoke up for the rest of them. “Do you see Devon and Aiden amongst us?” I questioned him instead. “We all know they’re dead, Rhys,” Salim, the Iranian Alpha, being the gentleman that he was, tried to control the situation. “After all, we are here so we can let their packs decid
Chapter 29: Coming Home Mink's P.O.V: "Is it repaired?" I asked Varun, the main mechanic/technician of my pack. The guy could repair a space ship for all I knew. I was lucky indeed to have him by my side. "I had to sneak in some parts from a nearby camp," he said with a charming smile and not a single drop of remorse. "They're probably going to have a defective tank for a few days but we have a complete chopper." "Good. Clear air traffic so they're not shot down by the Army." I ordered. "Yes ma'am!" Varun gave me a mock salute before sprinting out of my room. "So...we're all set to go?" I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, leaning my head against the headboard. "Come to walk out on me again?" "No. I've come to convince you that we can work things out...eventually." He entered the room and shut the door behind him, clicking the lock in place. "Twenty years ago, I met a man wh
Chapter 28: Finding a Way Mink's P.O.V: "You're trying to get rid of me?" He asked looking stunned. "That's beside the point; you're an Alpha and your Pack needs you now, more than ever. WildRain needs you to make them feel safe and protected and you’ve already been away from your pack for nearly three weeks now." It wasn't easy accepting the fact that I’d gotten used to having him around but it was time to be practical. Rhys had earned my respect when he had stood with me in the front line, fighting against his own pack when they had been led astray by Aiden and Devon, but that doesn't mean that I'm about to declare my undying love for him to the whole world from my rooftop. Love takes a long time to develop. He may have my trust but he was far from acquiring my love. "We still have a lot to discuss, Mikalya. You've accepted me as your mate in front of not only your pack but mine too. There's no running from it now."
Chapter 27: Pack Mink's P.O.V: "Ugh!" I groaned as I awoke. My shoulder was killing me and I couldn’t even move my arm because of it. "Hey," Rhys's voice came from next to me. "Are you in pain? I'll go get Belle!" I caught his hand when he would have gotten up. "Stop, Rhys." I groaned again as the movement caused my shoulder muscles to flex. "I'm fine. Just...extremely sore." "Damn wolf! Biting you is supposed to be my job!" Rhys joked. "Shut up!" I let go of his hand once he sat back down on...whatever he'd been sitting on and rubbed the sleep off my eyes before opening them. "What the-back off, what the hell are you hovering over me for?" "Well, I was just checking to see if you were comfortable,” he told me. “There’s no need to be rube, I did have your back when you were down.” "I could've gorged your eyeballs out for being so close to me with my eyes shut, that's usually what I do t
Chapter 26: A Brief Reunion Mink's P.O.V: Laughter. I could hear it from here. Coming closer...so close now. He was right behind me, chasing after me through the golden hued mountain meadows into the twilight. I kept my pace light, running at a slower pace, because I wanted him to catch me, to sweep me off my feet. His dark brown hair was swept back by the breeze and kissed by the golden hues of the setting sun. His topaz eyes were filled with laughter as he chased after me. His face was forever etched into my mind, my heart and my soul. He looked like a prince from a faraway land who had left behind the confinements of his castle and come to chase after his little nomad princess. I couldn’t believe I’d been so lucky to have found him, in a land that had once been the cause of my nightmares, but now that land was a pleasant memory. A memory where a lone wolf found her other half. “Stop! You know yo
Chapter 25: A Battle Won Rhys's P.O.V: A prior warning, Mikalya, before you nearly give me a heart attack. All I got in return was a smug look. And why didn't you tell me your pack had invaded theirs? And why didn't you tell me you knew about Devon and Aiden? Are there any- One question at a time, Rhys.Mink gave me a pointed look from the corner of her eyes.I didn't tell you before about my pack because if you knew you'd challenge me straight away and try to capture my people. And I didn't tell you about these losers because this was my pack’s secret. My spies are the ones who warned me when they saw you coming and confirmed my hunch that these two had finally made their move. As for your final question, no. I don't have spies in your pack. You stayed away from me and so did I. We turned our attention back to the disaster twins to find both
Chapter 24: All part of the plan Mikalya’s P.O.V: "Noooo!" Rhys roared, wolf in his eyes. "How could you? My men have their family in Jever! There are cubs!Call off the attack Devon and challenge me like a man if you have the guts to do so!" Devon and Aiden roared with laughter instead. "We both know we can't beat you in a fight that easily even if we team up." Devon admitted, still smirking. "So we planned to get you out of our way with a different approach." "What?" Rhys and I looked at each other frowning and then back at Devon and Aiden while the rest of the world stood still around us. "We'd heard about the White Alpha for quite some time now." Aiden said. "We knew what happens to every trespasser that dares to enter these lands without permission. We know how ruthless this pack is. It was your fault for not gathering enough information before you came here, wagging yo
